When my original makeup artist cancelled the day before my wedding, I honestly didn’t know what I was going to do. Thankfully, Gourav and his team stepped in at the very last minute, and I feel incredibly lucky that they did. Every time I try to write about Gourav, I find myself short of words. Yes, he is an incredibly talented hair and makeup artist - he completely understood the look I had dreamed of and delivered it flawlessly across all the functions. But what truly made the experience special went far beyond his artistry. Gourav was warm, kind, calm, and genuinely caring throughout. Indian weddings involve multiple events, long days, and a lot of emotions, and I was very conscious that the person doing my hair and makeup would be someone I’d spend a huge amount of time with during that period. I couldn’t have asked for someone better. He created such a positive, relaxed, and joyful atmosphere and truly went above and beyond to make sure I felt my best. My (very recent!) husband has heard me refer to Gourav more than once as my “knight in shining armour” - and I genuinely mean it. I feel so grateful that he stepped in when he did. ALERT: Long Post! It all started when we were planning to have our big day in goa and were searching for a make up artist who could cater to extremely picky, spontaneous and last moment demands of our highly pampered sister. We looked everywhere and finally liked the work of three artists. Spoke to all three and Gaurav immediately clicked. First thing we liked about it was his major concern was to know about the bride…her likes, her colors, her skin, her habits…etc. Since days were numbered, he gave a short and simple skin care routine to follow till the big day in the first call itself ( trust me, it helped reduce the bloating from all that Goa beer!). Amid so much of chaos and fun and Frnds and family and drama, Gaurav and his team arrived well in time. He even had to wait but the moment my sister walked in, he and his team took over like real pro. From lehenga to fittings to alterations to jewellery selection, he was everywhere. It was a real professionalism coated in chivalry, patience and care. And then the Make Up!!!!! My sister wanted a subtle make up with no make up look for her haldi and really bold makeup for her wedding, followed by cocktail look for the after party and Gaurav and his team killed it in every look. I remember all the Bua’s of our family lining up to get his contact details for all our cousin’s weddings to come. Book him if you want a real professional with magic hands to handle your big day with ease, love and care.
