Black Diamond Caterer was by far the best caterer in Kolkata, I worked its while planning my wedding. Vishal & his team was extremely responsive, flexible, and easy going. People could not stop talking about how great the food and service was for our wedding, they still talk about it weeks later. testing their best dishes, Chicken Hariyali kabab, Panner Shaslick, Peas Kachuri, Chicken Biriyani, Kolkata Diamond Fish fry, Kashmiri Polao, Mutton kosha, Big size Golda chingri malai curry, Paturi, Live jilebi, chatni 3 typy, Rashogolla, Highly recommended!

Tl; dr: - NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL! - Hoarded food - Bullied guests - Condescending attitude towards guests - Remorseless manager --- DETAILS --- Black Diamond Caterer led by Vishal Dhar single handedly destroyed the single most special event of my life, my wedding reception dinner on (dated 8th December, 2022). After months of meticulous planning on all fronts, starting from venue selection and decoration to even seemingly smaller details like garland design, everything was going perfectly, until Black Diamond caterer decided to purposely and repeatedly bully my guests in my family's name, while also visibly holding back food from guests with an intention to hoard (probably for other events scheduled for the next day). Following are some anecdotes from my guests: 1. One of my guests was embarrassed when he asked for sondesh after taking the roshogolla. He was told "first complete the one sweet that you have on your plate and then come back for the other". 2. One of my guests was served only one roshogolla and when he asked for one more, the person at the counter remarked "we are asked to serve only one", insinuating that me or my family had asked them to hold back on serving sweets to our guests. 3. My own brother was not provided with salad. When he asked if salad was available, they told "No!". They didn't tell him if salad would be made available later. 4. Someone from the catering service even rebuked one of my guests for picking up 2 paper towels instead of 1 by mistake. The remark in Bengali translates two "Let me point it out to you that you picked up two paper napkins!" 5. All my guests have unanimously complained that the ice-cream was repeatedly not available at the ice cream counter. 6. When the bride's aunt intervened stating that they are bound to provide ice-cream to all guests, they took out another box of ice cream (visibly hoarding ice-cream). 7. All my guests have unanimously complained that the scoop was used only as a spoon to serve ice-cream. People got spoonful worth of ice cream when they were rightly expecting full-scoops. 8. All my guests have complained that not for once was food available at all the counters. 9. All my guests have complained that they had to wait for a long amount to time for counters to be refilled. The waiting time was long enough for guests to get frustrated and leave. 10. One of my guests mentioned that he had to have dinner after returning home! 11. All my guests have complained that the fish paturi sizes were extremely small. 12. Arrangements were made for tandoor tea counter with extra payment per plate. Instead what happened was that the tandoor was present only for show. Guests were served masala tea instead. 13. There was a lack of starters in the starter counter. All 3 varieties were never available at once. Also starters were constantly served cold. 14. Plate was snatched from a child and was asked to have food from his mother's plate instead. 15. The food served to bride and groom was also served cold. Even the water in the finger bowl was cold. The vegetables from the mix-veg live counter was undercooked. Mr. Vishal Dhar also had the audacity to tell my father (who is a professor) that serving our guests was equivalent to serving in slum areas since the venue was around 40kms away from Kolkata. He showed no absolutely no remorse and repeatedly tried to tell us that we are lying and that all my guests are liars! What is even more heartbreaking is that Mr. Dhar had repeatedly assured us that the service would be of highest standards and that our guests would have an experience they would never forget. I had no idea, this is what he meant by memorable experience all along. Final comment: My guests did actually appreciate the phuchka stall (pani-puri or dahi-puri). The interesting thing is the phuchka stall was arranged locally and not through Black Diamond Caterers.

Very bitter experience in the wedding reception ceremony of my elder son on 8th December, 2022 . From the very beginning they were supplying very little amount of foods.Honourable guests were to wait for many items for a long time. Some guests left the venue without having all items. Frequently they kept the pot of fish paturi, mutton, rasogolla, icecream etc without food. We ordered for 450 guests. But most probably they didn't prepared for 450 guests and managed it keeping the pots of food empty frequently.

Dear Bishal Dhar, Trusting on your brand name has been the worst decision of my life. On 7th December,2022, it was my wedding reception at Shreeram Garden and banquets. We had fixed you and It was communicated to you that you have to make arrangements for minimum 500 assured guests with a provision of 10% extra The reception started at 7 pm,every thing was going good untill at around 10 PM in most of the main course section the dishes were unavailable for long.Approx 350 guests had completed their dinner. When Guestsasked supply of food, they said that food is being prepared and shall be there in a while. This wait was more than an hour for most of the dishes. My father immediately rushed to the alarming situation as most of the guests had plates in hand but no food available. When he rushed to the kitchen he was shocked to see no food available at all and the entire dishes for the main course section was over. On enquiring, headcook informed that that you had ordered him tomanage 400 guests whereas the actual guests assured to you was 500 plus 10% extra. This came as an utter shock as it was disastrous situation that we were anticipating. More than 100 guests were still waiting for their dinner and there were plates placed in the counter but no food in the main course section at all. To name the dishes Daab chingri was out of place for more than 2 hours and so was rabdi and so was Mutton and so were water bottles.Many guests had to just complete their dinner with desserts or dishes that were only available at that time.. My father had a lot of discussion with you on the subject matter and you assured everythng will be alrightin30 mins.By this time 1hour had gone and on calls from our side you admitted there was shortage (Personal call from my side). You said you are arranging for immediate replenishment and it would take 20-30 mins for the same.It was to our utter shock and disbelief that after planning every event so very well for months of hardwork this type of a disaster would come and land on my plate where the so called reputed caterer like you prepares food for less than 400 guests whereas the assured footfall was 500. In the kitchen your cooking team was out of supplies and raw materials when the food in most of the main course section was over(Literally nothing was left not even a drop of gravy). We informed you few days earlier the event day that 500 guests were assured. We thought that things would be replenished ,but 1.5 hrs passed and still you where nowhere to be seen.At 1130 PM Guests who already had empty plates in hand had started leaving the venue as there was no food.The most shocking chapter for my family comes when we a find out that the entire Bride's side of family and were also amongst the guests who are suffering in this situation.Myself and family had already started feeling the guilt and shame in front of the remaining guests including all members from the bride's family. Guests started leaving the venue after waiting long and after all this the brided family also left. The entire efforts of planning for the wedding reception came as a slap on our face from YOU WHO HAS CHEATED MY FAMILY on this big day. The bride's family and other guests left without having dinner and this left an utter shock on my family's image and reputation. We were ashamed publicly. We have never seen a cheater and unethical business man like you. THE VERY DECISION TO CHOOSE YOU FOR THIS BIG DAY HAS TAKEN AWAY MY FAMILY'S REPUTATION AND IMAGE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. THE ENTIRE STOCK OF FOOD WAS DRIED UP FROM 10 PM.I am writing this with utter grief the harm that you have caused to my entire family .NEVER CHOOSE BLACK DIAMOND CATERER FOR SAKE OF YOUR FAMILY REPUTATION.THIS CATERER SHOULD BE BLACKLISTED and it's an humble request that never ever avail their services as they aren't fit for this profession. No doubt One of the Best and is very popular oldest at Black Diamond Caterers, Newtown, Rajarhat, Kolkata' I have booked recently 21-11-2019 "Black Diamond Caterers"for my son's rice ceremony and I had no complaints. The food was great and all the people attending giving compliments. The catering service was timely and great. Highly recommended for all One of the oldest Bengali caterers' in Kolkata.very good food and great quality service. Perfect for bengali food lovers!! My all time favorite Black Diamond caterer's You'll find various types of bengali cuisine and it is actually famous for bengali cuisine though the price is some what higher than as usual. Talking about the quality of the food is great and I enjoyed the. bengali dishes..food.
