She attended to all my doubts and made the process so easy. She creates a look book for all the events, so even though I hadnt met her before, I was confident about my look. She came recommended by a friend so I booked her blindly. Seemed professional at first but chaotic during and in the very end. First of all, Atika has two numbers - her personal and her business one where her “team” “responds”. Despite these two numbers there is noooooo communication whatsoever between the artist and the customer. She tells you a time that she will call but never calls and the constant follow up was honestly very harrowing. Should’ve gotten the hint then only. Now, for the first day I needed only draping for a haldi event but the drapers were forged in hell. It took her team 50 minutes to drape one saree on me. F I F T Y minutes. I agree small pleats are difficult to do but that’s your only job description?! And this was her senior artist. Because of this delay I couldn’t get my hair done at all. Atika now conveniently blames the fabric of the saree saying it’s too hard to drape. No fault of her team. Also, none of the other guests who wanted draping got draped. So that was day one. On the wedding day, Atika and her entire team was not on time. There were a total of 7 - 8 guests who required make up and hair and draping. They ended up not doing make up for so many guests who had requested for make up. There was no schedule given. The schedule was given last minute, on the wedding day and she expected me to coordinate with all the guests on my wedding day. Again, lack of communication. They didn’t even drape my moms saree even though it was in the package. They didn’t even do my moms hair - they did but haphazardly. I’ve never seen her so uncomfy. The draper this time tore my sisters really expensive saree and I kid you not, ran away. Atika blames my sister for tearing the saree and blames me for not telling her senior artist is incompetent (about which I did tell her and she claims to not remember me telling her about it). My make up was okay nothing spectacular I didn’t expect anything anyway, cause it was a chill goa wedding, nothing crazy, no bun and no hairdo, just some curls and open hair. I had told her maybe put some baby’s breath in the hair to give SOME finished look because the maangtika had 5 pearl strings and they would look weird at the back of my head. She said she generally doesn’t do flowers (for a bridal look she doesn’t do flowers??) but she said she will bring on the day of. Which she didn’t. And like I mentioned my hair looked very unfinished and and maangtika which was “secured” was lose by the time I reached the mandap. Oh and they forgot to paint my nails. Last minute I reminded them they have to paint my nails and they hurriedly painted my nails with my own nail polish and did a lousy job at that. I had shoulder length hair during the wedding and she forced me to wear hair extensions (I hadn’t asked for it - I was completely okay with my own shirt natural hair). I didn’t want to wear it cause it looked fake and it didn’t blend well with my hair anyway. She kept insisting on me wearing it and when I was annoyed cause we had lost so much time discussing about this, I told her to remove it. After which she huffed and puffed away about how it’s so strenuous for her to remove the hair extensions. Just a bunch of weird antics that I couldn’t understand. After the wedding, I called her to voice my grievances to which her response was anything but kind, she threatened me with suing even though she hadn’t forwarded me her invoice. I asked her for the invoice she gave it to me a month and a half later. My mother in law whose the sweetest thing god bless her ever wanted to speak to her and she refused to even listen to her and again threatened to sue. We paid her amount in full and that’s that. Worst. Service. Ever. Never again. I could’ve done a better job for my make up on my own wedding day. A team of langurs with their opposable thumbs off could’ve done a better job. Everyone can. You know your face best. Don’t fall for such farcical wedding expenditures. Not worth it at all.

I got my pre wedding shoot makeup done by Atika on recommendation by our photographer. I really liked the way she did the skin makeup. I've gotten makeup done so many times but the way she did it is my favourite, was so light yet it hid my dark circles and marks. And it looked beautiful on camera!! All rosy and glowing from within look. Beside her artistry, I really liked how professional and helpful she is. Throughout the shoot she and her assistant were always nearby and ready for touch ups and hair fixes and she constantly sprayed a sunscreen on me to protect my skin and made sure I was hydrated. Got Atika’s reference from the WMG consultant on purchasing the Mynt membership. It was my sister’s wedding in Goa and i was looking for a good MAU and hairstylist who gave a natural yet sheer look. Since the time I spoke to her for the first time, i could get vibes that she understood my requirement very well and would give me exactly what I wanted (I don’t wear makeup and nor does heavy makeup suit my face).
