He told me I owed back taxes and would be arrested if I didn't pay immediately. I was shocked when he gave me my IRS information and address. I was instructed to withdraw cash from my bank and deposit it at a Bitcoin ATM near my house. The caller explained the entire process and even told me which machine to use. I panicked and didn't have time to think clearly. I deposited $16,000 into the ATM and transferred the money to the Bitcoin address I'd been given. After the transaction, the calls stopped. That's when I knew something was wrong. I contacted the police and the Bitcoin ATM company, but they said there was nothing they could do; once the money was transferred, it was gone. I lost all my savings that day. What hurt me most was how real it all felt. They used fear, urgency, and official-sounding language to manipulate me. I want others to know: If someone calls you demanding payment in Bitcoin, it's a scam, no matter how convincing they sound. Hang up. Confirm your information. Protect yourself. Amidst all the chaos, I thought my money was lost forever until my neighbor referred me to ICC Recovery Services. At first, I wasn't sure how they would recover my deposit, but they patiently guided me through the process of tracking transactions on the blockchain and working with the authorities.
