Working with Karan was delightful. We had a consult prior to the wedding where he gave me suggestions but was also really open to what I wanted. We had detailed discussions in terms of the looks I wanted and that gave me clarity in terms of what to go with. He also gave me some really good suggestions on how to maintain my skin weeks before the wedding. Him and his team did a wonderful job with both my hair and make up on thr final day. He's multi talented in the sense that he knows how to pull off an Indian and a western look equally elegantly. And I was more than pleased with the final look. Karan is really easy to work with. Apart from his flawless make up skills he's also really funny and calm which is an added bonus when you have to spend that much time with your make up artist on your wedding day while you're at the peak of all that stress. As a person I can be a bit of a perfectionist but he was really patient with all my demands. I would recommend him a 100% hands down. He did my makeup along with my bridesmaids for three events and all of us were extremely happy with our looks. I booked Karan as my MUA for my reception in Pune, going by my cousin’s recommendation (who herself booked him for her Big day). And boy, was I amazed!! At the outset, he is one of the most professional people I’ve met in the industry. I got in touch with Karan from San Francisco, and not only did he patiently answer all my questions, but also asked me for my pictures with and without makeup, and suggested an amazing skin care routine for my pre bridal routine. We discussed about my makeup preferences, and he asked me to share some sample pictures of the makeup style I liked. I instantly felt at ease with the conversations I had with him, despite the time difference. When I landed in India just a week before my wedding, he made sure he was available for the trial before the event, despite his busy schedule during the wedding season. He travelled more than an hour away at my home, and was ON TIME. I hate to mention that he had to wait until I arrived from another appointment, but he was extremely patient about it. We met and he was really sweet. He then saw my outfit in person, set up his makeup station and got working. I was awed at the tricks and expertise with which he worked. I learnt through our conversations that he is trained by none other than the famous celebrity makeup artist, Mickey Contractor. Karan did not miss a single step, everything was done to the finest detail. When it was done, I couldn’t believe how flawless the makeup was! It was exactly how I envisioned. We just decided to tweak a couple of minor things, and I was ready to go! On my big day, Karan and the hairstylist arrived at the venue on time. Both of them were extremely patient and sweet and made me feel at ease. After seeking my permission (rather than feeling entitled), he took a few headshots and some videos through the process. It was fun collaborating with him and having those ‘getting ready’ memories. My makeup and skin looked flawless, hair done so beautifully. I received so many compliments that evening!!! Karan’s is a great makeup artist . He understood my skin very well and matched my Color perfectly. He knew I wasn’t comfortable with too much makeup so he didn’t force me to do a lot but just nudged me to step slightly out of my comfort zone and that paid so well.
