Writing this review after my baby’s rice ceremony, where I booked Maa Sandhya Caterers. One thing I would say - don’t blindly trust video reviews, you can buy them, always judge based on your own experience. There were definitely some positives but also some serious gaps. What I liked: 1. Food quality was very good — definitely recommended. 2. Babu Da, the owner, was personally involved and gave useful suggestions to make the menu and presentation more suitable for a traditional Bengali ceremony. 3. Staff service was good — polite, helpful and well organized. What disappointed me: 1. Guests who didn’t eat mutton were supposed to get chicken/veg options, but a few guests were not even asked and had to skip the dish. 2. Parcel service was extremely disappointing. The price was charged same like a full meal, but the quantity and number of items were very much less even not matched what was committed verbally. I only came to know this later from my guests. 3. I booked for 150 people and Babu Da assured me that 15 extra plates could be arranged if required. We had around 144 guests, yet a couple of decorators and a service boy couldn’t get a proper meal. They were initially offered dal and rice but when they agreed, they were told that even rice was finished. Overall: Food and staff service are good, but management is a major concern. Don’t assume that everything discussed during booking will automatically be delivered. You need to personally monitor things, especially the quantities and arrangements.
