I found Sangya Sagarika on Wedmegood and I was attracted to the diversity of her work and creativity with eyes, hair and draping. Simple yet elegant was the look I was going for as I am not used to makeup, but always fascinated about decking up for a big day. During the trial we discussed about this and Sangya immediately understood and started suggesting ideas but always ensured that I am on board with every small detail and nothing was left to chance. Nothing was half done even during trial, she got nearly perfect looks trialled including hair makeup, eyes and took detailed notes and documented the entire discussion. On D-day Sangya came on time which is very very important and immediately just went about creating the look. It is art that is created with patience and warmth that it feels like therapy amid all the wedding hustles. Needless to say I was pleased and content with the look. Another thing is how Sangya can be chatty or zen as per your preference and mood, but she does prefer her focus she said when she was working on perfecting the hair. Her draping skills are magic, which was such an important factor for me to pull this off with confidence. One other call out is her interaction with family who usually have comments and suggestions, Sangya strikes the balance by engaging them but also not moving away from her and my vision which made the entire environment stress free (my mum has started using her Saree draping tips everyday which says is better than YouTube ) For a first timer to wear heavy makeup nobody found it gaudy or loud, I received loads of compliments on looking different and amazing. I can't wait to do this for more weddings of friends and family. I recommend Sangya for anyone who has a vision and some references, and she will execute it for you with a lot of passion. If you leave it to her she will do an even better job by getting the best out of your features,and her color choices are unique and great especially for the eyes. We has been in touch ever since even though I don't reside in India, following up on some of the things we discussed and more tips for products, everyday make up, and more and more about this art.
