Make-up Artist Poonam Sancheti

This was my daughter's 3rd time experience with Poonam, and I must say she lacks professionalism and integrity…. we had booked her for wedding and baby showers, and were always on time…. Yesterday was naming ceremony. we can’t force a small baby of 5 months old to wake up, bath , obviously it got late. Poonam kept on blabbing about how late it got… she was waiting etc etc… we can’t predict baby’s schedule , we had asked for that timing assuming baby’s routine.. Poonam being a women should understand it will not be clients mistake. You can’t complain that you don’t wait for any event it is 2hrs job now been 4hrs etc etc. If you have personal doctor appointment, better don’t accept the booking… If you are not ready to wait please for the sake of clients sanity don’t agree for events like naming ceremony where things are not under control of the client, with baby in hand and other things no mother will have patience for your tantrums….You can’t yell and complain constantly… Hope you get some professionalism in future. You don’t deserve 0.5 too

I had a wonderful experience working with Poonam ji. She did three of my looks ,all different and all just as I wanted. She understood what I wanted for my looks and executed them very well. She is very professional, polite, punctual and most of all very helping. I would definitely recommend her to all the brides and she would be my go to forever. I have nothing but nice things to say about Poonam-ji. She is fantastic at what she does and she understood what my requirements were before we'd even met. Since I live outside India, my brother contacted Poonam-ji about my wedding (held on 10th November 2024), and had a detailed conversation with her about what my final look should be on the day. The only thing I had to look for were hairstyles, but makeup wise, I like to keep things as minimal and subtle as possible since I don't use a lot of product myself. My reception look was a little bit heavy on the makeup, but on the day of the wedding, the makeup was even more subtle. Poonam-ji uses high quality makeup products that are well sanitized before and after each use, and she knows what will bring out someone's best features in the most natural way. Make-up wise, I have very little to fault her about. The reason I for the 4 star rating is the hairstylist that accompanied Poonam-ji. I did bring this up with her privately, but I've received no reply or feedback from Poonam-ji for the same for quite a few days now, therefore I will briefly outline my hair experience. I've been trying to grow out my hair for the last year or so, and after a couple of regular trims, it actually started holding up well and growing. That all sort of went kaput when the hairstylist did my hair for the reception and wedding. The amount of hairspray that was used to hold the hairdo up was unreal - my hair started falling out in thick chunks - not to mention some hair spray dye that was used to cover up my greys. After the two days of festivities, my hair was dry, crunchy and falling from everywhere it could. I needed to get a hair spa done after the wedding because of how rough the texture was - the lady at the salon washing my hair worked hard to wash the dye and hairspray out of my head and that's when she told me that because of the several pins used to keep the hair in place, I had blood clots on my scalp from the pressure (which took over a week to heal). She tried her best to massage all the product out of my hair but the pressure from the massage was so intense because of the bruises from the blood clots. Despite the hair spa and then once again getting my hair washed at the salon after 2 weeks, my hair still has traces of the spray and dye and is falling out. I mean I could use it as confetti at a party - that's how much hairfall there is. I was told by two different women at the salons that I visited that this will continue to happen for the next 6-8 weeks. Looking nice is one thing but this kind of pain and its after effects are a bit much to handle, to say the least. If I were to have a big life event again (maybe vow renewal?), I would definitely reach out to Poonam ji. It feels like speaking to a BFF, because she is very nice to work with and has a knack for understanding what you need without much intervening to tone the look down. Everyone at the wedding loved the look (including my in-laws and hubs) so 10/10 would recommend Poonam-ji. However, I would be a little wary of having the hair artist she is partnered with to do my hair again - I have so much hairfall that I'm still dealing with and praying that it stops soon and that my hair becomes healthy again. I understand that a lot of it is down to the kind of hairstyle itself, but in general, I found myself asking the hairstylist to be gentle several times with even Poonam-ji requesting her to do the same. Her work is good but she's pretty rough and heavy-handed. I'm not sure if this can be changed in the future or not, but that would be my only little piece of constructive feedback.

We contacted Poonam through Instagram. She did very good make up bridal for my daughter n me too. It was little heavy for reception n soft for pheras. Hair styles for both functions were different. We liked her a lot. In person a very sweet person. Would recommend her to my friends.

Love her way of work I have received so many compliments . She gave the best look just the way I imagined it to be ! Makeup stayed as is for longer time Also since I did not have much time gap between varmala and reception , I had to carry the same makeup but she gave me a complete different look within few minutes . Since I had back to back functions , she was patient enough to eagerly get me ready every single time. Very friendly and made me comfortable I absolutely loved the look and would highly recommend her .
