For the cocktail event, I absolutely did not want a gown because I feel like it's a waste! I am not going to wear it again ever in my life. So I picked a pearl embellished lehenga by Natasha Dalal, from Mumbai. I tried on a nude/blush shade of the same lehenga at her boutique but I asked them to make it in a Lilac shade for me. I had the most terrible experience with Natasha. My family got in touch with her in the Bridal Asia exhibit in Delhi. They visited her store in Mumbai and since I live in the US, we placed an order for my bridal lehenga through a video call on October 3rd 2017. She promised that she would send a sketch to me which never happened. I texted her multiple times regarding the status of the dress and she didn't find it important enough to honor it with a response. My wedding was on December 8th and she was aware of this fact. As per her requirements we had placed the order well in advance(8 weeks) and paid half the amount of money she was charging. In spite of this we were patient and scheduled a final fitting on December 3rd, which was not even a week before the wedding. She then called us on November 30th saying that she cannot fulfill her commitment citing various excuses that her workers were ill/too much demand and god knows what all, leaving my family and me in a lot of unnecessary stress. There was nothing missing from our end as customers meaning we had payed the money, chosen design well in advance, given measurements,been patient with her unresponsiveness and not been finicky at all about anything. Yet she canceled merely a week before not thinking of the consequences. It was highly disappointing and frustrating. I would highly discourage trusting her because she has no empathy towards the emotions a bride and her family or else she could stand by her word and fulfill her commitment in addition to being very unprofessional and expensive. Im sure there are better people out there who value their customers.
