About Sahil Vohra Photography
Sahil says he loves shooting people when they are at their vulnerable, unpretentious, boisterous and emotional best. Weddings give him a chance to do just that! We love that Sahil's photographs have a knack of capturing some of the most fun and unusual behind the scenes moments! Take a look below to check out what we are talking about.

I just happened to come across this review from Aditi and while each person has a view and we respect those thoughts. My opinion of Sahil as a Photographer is quite the opposite. It was my sister's wedding and I decided to gift my sister a set of priceless pictures she could never get enough of. We decided to do the shoot at our ancestral haveli in peak summers. Sahil agreed to come down to Jaipur with me just for this shoot and he managed to make my traditional family feel comfortable to the extent that my late Nani who was then 90+ agreed to do a ghoomar dance. It was about 45 degrees and Sahil had done his full research on locations he wanted to shoot at. Not once did he complain of the heat and we shot for almost 6-7 hours. We got 20 seriously good pictures all of which now adorn the walls of my sister's house. As a sweet gesture, he even went ahead and gave us a short video of the pictures that we played "by demand" "on repeat" on every single function. Sahil was extended an invite for the wedding - not as a photographer (due to budget constraints) but as a family member by the end! I only wish I could share those pics here! My experience with him has been fantastic which is why I was almost compelled to write this review as I came across view which I felt wasn't doing justice to Sahil as a Photographer!

Oh God! Thank you so much Priyanka - I'm genuinely grateful and touched, but I'm afraid the skeptics will question the timing of your review ;) What is it with you guys taking the sheen off my "quantity" though - I gave you 30 something images from what I recall. But WOW...20 odd out of that on the walls is super! I'm so flattered :)

I always wanted an apt photographer for my wedding functions as its a once a lifetime moment. So after a lot of research I found out about Sahil. Sahil did my engagement. As agreed he promised to give me 300-500 processed images. On the other hand he gave only 96 images (edited & unedited). For the past 2 years I have been avoiding this post but everytime I look at my album I feel so disheartened so today I thought to share it. No doubt those 96 pictures are very good but still who wants only 96 pictures from their engagement. On asking Sahil about it he goes like I must not have found moment to click pictures. Like really, from a 5 hour affair you could not click pictures and is that your explanation for not clicking pictures. Whatever said and done my engagement will not happen again and for the rest of the life I will have to live with those 96 pictures. Also I have no picture of my grandparents from my engagement n he did not find it necessary to click. He's too arrogant to be a photographer. A photographer requires humbleness and a nature to gel with people which he lacks. So think twice before hiring him.

Hello Aditi, I'm sorry you've had to wait 2 years to put up a negative feedback. Wish we'd discussed this sooner. Please allow me to try and summarize a few things so everyone reading this has some perspective: a) 300-500/96 pictures: I don't promise a fixed number of pictures because by its very nature, candid photography does not allow one to quantify the number of moments one can expect at a function. It?s a bit like predicting something you have no control of. Traditional photographers on the other hand, are better versed with quantifying numbers purely because there's a set standard of the number of pictures (portraits etc.) they go about shooting. I am happy to hear you thought the 96 pictures I gave you were very good, especially because I work hard on curating the most from what I shoot without compromising on quality. If those 96 were 196, I would have been equally glad to give them to you - so you should know there was genuinely no scope for more quality images at your function. Please allow me to correct you; it was more a 3 hour and not a 5 hour affaire. Also, realistically, no single candid photographer worth his salt will give you 300-500 candid photographs for a 3 hour function. On your statement of "who wants only 96 pictures from their engagement" I could connect you with many couples who choose quality (which you have admitted was "very good") over quantity. b) Pictures of specific people: Going back to the previous point, candid photography by its very nature is exactly that - CANDID. It does not allow a good candid photographer to 'manufacture' supposed candid photographs. I don't subscribe to rampant 'manufacturing' of photographs and set up group shots et al because that is something not in my creative sense of photography. If there is a need to capture everyone at a function, it is done through a set of traditional photographers - for precisely this reason. Candid photography allows creative artistic liberty to the photographer to capture pictures that the usual traditional photographer does not/does not have the aesthetic visuals to shoot. I believe you discounted and did not understand this facet when you went about organizing the candid photography aspect. c) Arrogance: While I am at a total loss to understand where this arbitrary and Libellous statement stems from, I am happy to have a conversation to understand this better. You could note that the common theme in ALL the reviews above however, is the exact opposite of what you've said :) d) COMPLIMENTARY PHOTO SHOOT & MISC: I believe you've made a one-sided and unfair review Aditi. In as much as I'm open to review and feedback, a good feedback is one that is fair and balances both sides of the story. Would have been nice if you'd mentioned the following: (i) the function was a 3 hour and NOT a 5 hour affair; (ii) it was a formal afternoon get together of a very limited (small) number of people in an event room with absolutely NO performances or anything of the like and severely restricted the scope for any kind of candid photography whatsoever. I believe the nature of the event was completely suited to traditional photography and not candid; (iii) Despite not being a part of the agreement, seeing the lack of opportunity in shooting pictures at your event - I shot ?couple? photographs of you and your husband Ankur (who was extremely uncomfortable in front of the camera and you had to cajole and goad him for pictures and to actually smile for the camera more than once) at the property without second thought. (iv) Here?s the irony: after a ?lot of research? would mean you read reviews (had to necessarily be positive for you to engage me) and understood that my brand of photography stood for quality, something you have expressly set out. My understanding is that your chief dissatisfaction is about the number not being suited to your expectations. That is a disconnect I have highlighted above. Regards, Sahil Read Less

Shooting with Sahil was a delight! He is fun to be around and captures a lot of candid moments. He made me super comfortable and was able to understand what I wanted from the shoot. Knew the right people to click! Also, I was happy with the delivery part- thankfully didn't have to chase him and the prints are great! After all photographs is all what is going to be left forever from the entire day! Thanks Sahil. Looking forward to shoot with you again! ggjhih

<p>We were a little nervous about finding the right photographer for our wedding but once we came across Sahil&rsquo;s site, we were convinced he was the right photographer. Sahil doesn&rsquo;t force staged moments, he just happens to somehow be there when those moments happen naturally. Few photographs that he captured during the bridal games were exceptional and each had its own tale. Whenever I look at these photographs it never stops with just the events that happened but gives a complete picture of how the whole place was filled with happiness and joy. In short, the tone of the day really shines through in the pictures. GREAT photography&hellip;&hellip;!!!!!!!!!</p>

<p>Life isn&#39;t a fairytale but Sahil u made it look like one with those impeccable beautifully captured pictures. I&#39;m so thankful to you for giving me those wonderful memories which will stay with me forever. Kudos for the lovely work and lots of good luck n sunshine for your future endeavours. Thank u again !!! Cheers!!!!</p>

<p>Sahil is simply amazing! I LOVED my wedding photos and will cherish these images forever! The pictures he took are stunning, vibrant in color and so lively. Sahil also had a very unique ability to sneak into scenes to snag a picture without making his presence obvious. He&rsquo;s able to capture scenes without making people feel self-conscious or that they have to pose because he is around. Very prompt about returning phone calls and emails. I loved working with !</p>
