Not only were they attentive to every detail, but they went above and beyond to ensure that our special day was absolutely perfect. I'd like to share some of their amazing qualities that truly set them apart from the rest. 1. Exceptional Communication: Despite the significant time difference between California and India, Michael and Shikha were always available and ready to talk, whether via messages, audio calls, or Zoom calls. They were extremely accommodating with our schedules and made sure that we were always on the same page throughout the entire planning process. We got married in December 2022 and had booked The Select Weddings in December 2021 - truly for a year, Michael and Shikha became our best friends with a new message every morning and exceptional communication beyond belief. 2. Unparalleled Creativity: Our wedding planners provided us with an abundance of creative ideas, ranging from decor to menus to literally everything else. Their expertise in crafting unique and innovative concepts truly made our wedding a memorable and personalized experience for us and our guests. We hosted seven official wedding events over the course of three days all in the same property (with a extra pre-wedding event on day zero and post-wedding event on day four, for a total of essentially nine events in five days). However, each event was a different venue within the property and quite literally transformed you into a different world. 3. Incomparable Patience: Throughout the planning process, Michael and Shikha demonstrated an unwavering patience. I had just graduated from law school and was prepping for the California Bar Exam. My husband and I also have incredibly demanding jobs, but Michael & Shikha were beyond patient from helping us find the perfect vendors to waiting for us to finalize our decisions, they were always understanding and supportive. I am also one of those brides that has been planning my wedding in my head since I was a little girl - Michael & Shikha remained so incredibly patient no matter how long it took me to explain my vision or how many iterations we had to go through of the decor, menus, agenda, etc. because they truly valued each and every idea I had and wanted to ensure my dream wedding would come to life. 4. Tirelessly Hardworking: The days leading up to our wedding were not without their challenges (not due to the fault of anyone, but just you know, life happens), but our wedding planners worked tirelessly to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Their dedication and perseverance in dealing with last-minute issues made our experience truly seamless. They even went above and beyond with tasks that were outside of the scope of their responsibilities. When my maiyaan/haldi jewelry was stuck in Delhi, Shikha told me not to worry about it. She had asked one of her team members to bring it with her and by the event, it had magically appeared. While jewelry/clothing isn't typically within the scope of a wedding planners' tasks, Michael & Shikha went above and beyond to make sure they can do everything in their power to provide us with the most relaxing and memorable wedding possible. 5. Constant Presence: From our pre-wedding visit to India to the wedding week itself, Michael and Shikha were always available and present. At every event, I could see their smiling faces running around working hard to make sure everything went to plan. Their commitment to being there for us every step of the way provided us with the peace of mind that we were in good hands and truly allowed us to take a step back and enjoy our wedding week. 6. Outstanding Team: The Select Weddings boasts an incredible team that worked alongside Michael and Shikha throughout the entire wedding. Special shout-out to Simran (my shadow), Abhit (my husband's shadow), and Gaurav (our parents' shadow), who were invaluable in their support and hard work. They would be there from the time we woke up in the morning to when we went to sleep, ready to do literally anything we needed and repeated this every single day of the week. After the first couple of events, Simran began noticing I didn't have time to really eat at the events, as I was too busy socializing and dancing the night away. She began making sure I had a bite to eat while getting ready for the events - something that really took me by surprise in the best way possible. The team's dedication to making our wedding a success was truly heartwarming and their positive energy made our wedding week that much more special. In conclusion, our wedding would not have been the magical experience it was without the exceptional expertise, dedication, and support from The Select Weddings team. The Select Weddings: Excuse the long review, but as a future bride and groom, I know you want to read an honest review that will help guide you if this team is the right fit for you. And, I wanted to emphasize why I recommend their service. I cannot begin to thank Michael, Shikha, and their team! My husband and I got married in February 2024, and I kid you not, this wedding would not have been possible without these two. I'm a first year medical resident, so my schedule is jam packed and planning a wedding in India while living in the US was unimaginable to me. However, Michael and Shikha were On. Top. Of. It. They coordinated all my calls on time despite the time difference, coordinated meetings with vendors, and coordinated my tours for the venues when I came 1 year earlier to book the venue. In addition, each of their recommended vendors were incredible DJ EMN, the Pramod Gupta mehendi artist, the venue, etc. Most importantly, Michael and Shikha helped my parents throughout their wedding responsibilities when they arrived a month prior to the wedding. Future brides can imagine how much it means to alleviate the stress on their incredible parents, and Michael and Shikha did that without even asking. They are honestly such good-hearted people, and they got along with my family so well! I couldn't have imagined making such life long friendships through this process. Also, their team is phenomenal! They provided me, my husband, my dad, and my mother-in-law with their own shadows that helped us with ALL of our tasks throughout the wedding events. Each of them were so helpful, but special shoutout to my girl, Sonia! She became a friend, and she kindly lent an ear for me to vent to in those *high* stress situations and really talked me down. 10/10 recommend The Select Weddings Excellent communication: Each query and/or message was responded within 12 hours, max, for me. Incredible attention to detail: They've thought of it all. There are a thousand things at weddings you won't even think about, but they're on top of it and go over everything with you. From coordinating rides for each of our out-of-town guests, to gift hampers, to directing each guest to their rooms, my parents and I didn't even have to think about 50% of the things we need to do for our guests. Remarkable Team Work: Their team is phenomenal. You can tell Michael and Shikha have chosen each individual as a part of their crew with a lot of thought and care. Constant Presence: There will never be a moment when they won't be able to give you guidance. Even before the wedding festivities, Michael and Shikha accompanied me to meetings with vendors and venues and negotiated on our behalf, which was really helpful since no one in my family lived in Chandigarh. They let me take the lead with each conversation so I never felt unheard, but they were there for me when I needed their support. They met with my parents many times in January before the wedding. For the wedding, Michael and Shikha remained with us since Thursday for pre-wedding prep until the last people left (us) the venue. Our shadows remained with us until we went to bed on each day. Anything I needed, even if it was not available at the venue, was within my reach within 20 minutes. Dedication and hard work: In all honesty, these people are some of the most hard-working individuals. I have not seen such dedication from wedding planners to their clients with any of my close friend's weddings. Even in the US, where an average Indian wedding planner, could cost you minimum $5-10K, those planners don't even come close to the well-rounded and exceptional services by The Select team. Michael and Shikha go above and beyond for their clients, and you can tell their work means more to them than just a means of income. TLDR: Michael and Shikha love their job, and their clients are a top priority to them! The cherry on top is that they have such big hearts! They really do become part of your family through this grueling process and even make it fun! My wedding was beautiful and each of my guests couldn't tell us enough how much fun they had! My husband and I would personally NOT recommend using these wedding planners. They had poor planning, poor communication, poor organisation and co-ordination. If it were not for the beautiful wedding venue that my husband and I had selected, and the priests and ceremony that my parents had organised, the entire wedding celebration would have been. quite dissatisfying. There was a wedding checklist, but for it to get planned and executed, my husband and I had to micro-manage everything and double and triple check spellings, contracts, constantly finding errors and typos. We understood this was precisely why we were contracting “The Select”, to be our wedding planners. However my husband and I had to do a lot of the heavy lifting, including creating the budget, since “The Select” left several tasks to the very last minute as they were engaged in "planning several other weddings". There was no proactivity shown here at all, and no sense of responsibility. We had to answer questions like “when would the mehendi artists need to come?”, to which I replied, "I am not an expert in weddings, what is usually done for other weddings?” The wedding planners were LITERALLY forwarding emails and messages from vendors, without thinking, reviewing and seeing if they could answer the messages and emails themselves, with the information that we had already provided them. For instance, they knew how many rooms we had booked as we had sent them an excel file with the rooms for the family. And when the hotel had a question, instead of looking at the list, they simply forwarded "easy to answer" questions to us, via. WHATSAPP, not even an email. Everything was done on whatsapp; sometimes we received super long messages with all information, updates and questions in the same message. This is not the mean of communication you would use when you need to present the developments and ask the clients to decide upon. Even on the day before the wedding, we had mentioned that we still did not know what the wedding venue decor was going to look like, and we mentioned how we wanted to know a bit more about the planning. There was ofcourse no planning, and we realised this on the day of the wedding. Here's how: Communicating to guests: we had less than 40 guests, but the guest’s transportation from the airport to the wedding venue was poorly coordinated and communicated. Everything was done last minute, where the guests got a whatsapp text on where to arrive for the ceremony, the venue which was changed the day before the actual wedding, with the wedding planners mentioning "we are delivering extra for you". However, the decor for the ceremony was poor. The guests had already inquired during the day where they had to be, and I had to send them a text explaning the AGENDA! I had to also remind the wedding planners several times to send the Mehendi timings & location in advance, and they did it just one hour before the mehendi. Ofcourse most people just texted me and asked me where they needed to be and at what time. Flowers and decor: I had mentioned several times, that we did not want artificial or plastic flowers. Guess what, the decor for the ceremony was plastic. There were no petals or nice decor where the ceremony was to be held. There were two mattress, I am not kidding, actual bed mattress on the floor for us to sit on. We had asked for lamps, which the hotel provided. Even during the celebration, the flowers and rice were not distributed ahead of time for the guests. The priests had to be interrupted for the wedding planners to distribute the rice and flowers, which is poor organisation and planning. We had mentioned several times during our phone calls with the wedding planners that we WANTED photos during sun-set. Ofcourse we have no photos during the sun-set since this wasnt communicated to the photographer either. While walking over to the bridge after the ceremony, the guests were given colour bombs from one wedding planner. Even the colour bombs did not properly work as the yellow ones were the only ones that were working. Decor for party: We had requested for white flowers and marigold flowers, and there is a small sheet from The Select of how the event was supposed to be done. We wanted an elegant ambience. Instead what we got was flashy and trashy. There were coloured flashy lights, the tiny stage was covered in white PLASTIC and the DJ was blaring pop music, instead of the music we had sent to the wedding planners in advance. The DJ only played the music we wanted AFTER we told the wedding planners that this is not the music we wanted. We had to ask the DJ to reduce the volume several times while it was extremely loud during the reception of the guests. The stage also broke while we were dancing on it. The tables were set too close to each other, the space wasnt properly utilised, and the banquet seemed like an infinite distance away from where we were sitting. I was shocked that the delivery was so poor, since I looked at images on wedmegood and comments about The Select. The arc where we took the pictures was located in front of a pole, ruining all the pictures, which had to be re-edited to remove the pole. I would expect a person with some experience in this field to notice these kind of problems while setting up the location. Overall, we are unhappy with both the planning and the execution of the wedding. We communicated our concerns to the wedding planners the day before the wedding. While we noticed a change in their attitude during the wedding, the overall result was well below expectation.

Aman and I were not sure if we wanted a wedding planner initially. But when are friends suggest that we should hire one since we don't stay in India. We started browsing through wed me good and stumbled across THE SELECT. Just like a normal person we started reaching out to different people and they started responding. Initially when I spoke to Shikha, i felt i could connect with her. Just by talking to her I was confident in sharing my ideas and there was a sense of confidence that they can pull it off. Later on we where introduced to Michel, the calm guy to had everything under control. The perfect balance that helped us sail through the wedding smoothly. Weddings are not perfect, and despite challenges their smile, hard work and sincerity towards their work where evident. There where so many things we requested last minute and they gave their 200% to make it possible. They made a simple Punjabi Bong wedding into a wedding that everyone is talking about even after a month. Period Dear Shikha and Michael,I dont know if you know this but you guys were the very first planners I approached via WedMeGood app but after speaking to you guys over the phone and meeting you, there was this instant connect and I knew that you guys were going to be planning my most special day. It seemed like it was meant to be for me and the experience after that with you guys was quite an amazing journey. From planning the wedding tit bits to selecting vendors to creating quirky stationery to even giving personal advise, you guys were always there whenever I reached out. You guys always gave multiple options and ideas and were very updated and versed with all the latest wedding trends. You guys listened and understood the diverse needs of the bride and groom side and gave very valuable input all along the way. There may have been a few bumps along the execution road but you guys proactively handled stuff keeping me and Devansh in a calm headstate throughout the wedding. Really appreciated everything you did and thank you for making out dream wedding come to life. I will forever cherish these wedding memories. Thank you especially to you Shikha as you were always there for whatever I needed, even when I was a total Bridezilla, I always felt like I was speaking to a friend. It absolutely feels weird to wake up and not speak to you. We had the perfect wedding (for us) and we have Michael and Shikha (The Select) to thank! We approached the Big Day totally stress free. In the lead up, They had an easy approach to the decisions that needed to be made and a great feel for what we wanted. They became a trusted friend in the whole process and, because of their attention to detail and firm handle on all the particulars, we got to be amazed and even a little surprised about how it all came together. The concepts, the executions, and all the vendors were perfect because of The Select. Our wedding was a full destination weekend for 250 guests and we worked with Michael and Shikha for about a year in advance. We live in Ludhiana and didn't have much time to plan details. But, we also have a pretty particular design aesthetic. So, it was important that we find someone who understood our vibe and had taste that we trusted. We knew we couldn't be too hands on and finding and hiring The Select was the first, most important decision we made. their taste is amazing, their manner is easy-going and their confidence is totally calming. Every decision after hiring The Select had an easy pace. they gave us options to explore when we wanted them (the venue and the photographer) and, as we got to know each other better, made strong recommendations where we wanted something particular (the DJ and sound design and hair/make-up.) They focused us on the stuff that we needed to do and took care of lots of details that we didn't need to focus on. The result was the weekend we had dreamed of with (almost) no stress along the way. Work experience: Truly an amazing experience with this incredible team. Michael and Shikha are experienced, hard working, and dedicated people who will put their heart and soul into making your event a truly magical experience. Execution: I will be honest I did not believe I will get 100% of the themes they showed us in pictures beforehand. But when I saw our events, it was even more than 100%. One of the events was on our roof, which they completely transformed into something of a palace and we could not even tell that we were on a roof. The wedding event was in a hotel which also we visited before the event and I was skeptical of the execution but OMG, it was beautiful and every single person who came to the wedding left in awe and more than pleased by the hospitality, decor, and elements. Demeanor: I must say that their demeanor truly pays off when dealing and managing the guests. Its truly a sensitive time for everyone especially close family members and I was very impressed by their ability to manage everyone with calm and comforting attitude.
