Ujjal da had dolled me up on my D-day and I can't stress enough on how great he is in what he does. Received a lot of great comments/feedback from everyone at the wedding and all eulogized Ujjal da as a great artist. He is a rockstar! He did a great makeover on my Mom too and I couldn't take my eyes off her. One can book Ujjal da with their eyes closed if they want to look their best on their special events. I hired professional services for make up of my daughter-in-law who travelled for the first time to India with my son from the USA. Her make up was good and she was happy about it. However, Mr. Debnath messed up with my wife's make up. He completely changed her natural look. The make up was way below my satisfaction and expectation. While dealing with his clients, I found Mr. Debnath's behaviour totally unprofessional. a) We live in New Delhi and wanted to meet him personally during our two visits to Kolkata. On both occasions he refused to meet us due to his busy schedule. He is an egoistic person. b) He is not at all punctual and does not value other person's time. On 28 December, 2022 he called us in his studio (in CF block, Salt Lake) at 12 noon. When we reached his studio at 12 noon, we found the place locked. He promised to be there after 30 minutes but eventually his wife turned up at 1 PM. Mr. Debnath turned up at 3 PM. c) They could not finish the make up at 4:30 PM. which was the agreed time. Instead, they finished make up at 5:30 PM, an hour later. d) Our programme got upset and everything was delayed. e) Finally, he overcharged us which was much more than the agreed price. As we already got delayed by an hour, I paid what was asked for. I recommend others to avoid Mr. Ujjwal Debnath because of his rude, unprofessional and egoistic attitude towards his clients. Ujjwal Debnath is someone you trust with your eyes closed whenever it comes to makeup. My past experience with makeup artists have always been bad.. I’d say that I’m one of those unlucky girls who look horrible with heavy makeup..in every occasion I would get to hear from my father that I look way better when I do my own makeup(P.S I am no expert.. makeup according to me is just a bit foundation, eyeliner and lipstick) but this is the first time my father said that I’m looking beautiful and Ujjwal Da owns 100% credit for that! It's going to be a long post and a very very honest review! I had my wedding on 18th February this year and I have chosen Mr Ujjwal Debnath as my make up artist a year back, the 2nd thing I did for my wedding. As I really wanted to get my make up done for the day from him. First of all, he is an amazingly friendly person, whenever I needed to know something I have given a call and he have always answered my questions. on the day of the wedding also during the make up the experience was really good. Very friendly staffs and Ujjwal Debnath himself is amazing as a person. Now comes the make up part, first of all he doesn't need 5 hours to get the make up done, it will be done in 3 hours max, so asking a bride to come at 12 is completely unnecessary because there are actually punctual people like us who like to stick to the time. So I went around 1 on that day and some brides came at 3/4 but even their make was completed almost at the same time as mine (half an hour more or less). Secondly, there is no personalization of the make up they do. They choose one look for all the brides for that day. On some brides it looks amazing (if it suits them) for some it doesn't suit that well. Unfortunately, I was on the second group and neither me nor anyone from my family liked my makeup. I looked very aged, as they changed my face profile. The eye make up also didn't make my eyes look their best. The hairstylist didn't listen to any of my requests, they did the hair style as it was decided for that particular day, irrespective of it suited my face or not. The least I expected as a bit personalization to make me look the best, which was not there at all. I am still pretty disappointed with my choice of make up artist and my look for the day.

It was a dream come true for me on my big day! Ujjwal da is so talented and he does his job so perfectly; it’s totally flawless. The subtle yet beautiful look that he brings to the table is sure to attract praises from everyone. Also his down to earth and polite behaviour adds extra brownie points to his talent. The studio and his staffs are as talented as he is and all of them knows exactly what they are doing. There is always fun banters in the studio and Ujjwal da himself is an extremely jolly person and loves to crack fun jokes while doing his job. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend him for the big days! You’ll never be disappointed with what he does for you! Hands down the best make up artist in town!

I hired Ujjwal Debnath for my big day and I was happy with the makeup he did. The entire process of transforming a lady into a bride is very organised and systematic at his studio with different sections dedicated to different activities - saree draping, hair, jewellery etc. The man is a gem of a person and his staff is very polite too. However, I personally felt that there is a lack of personal touch. My wedding was in January and it was a very common wedding date with many weddings across the city. There were a total of 12-15 brides that day at his studio which led to no time for any kind of personal touch for the makeup and no experimenting was possible and all the brides end up with the same look. Also since there were a large number of brides - you end up spending 4-6 hours at his studio waiting for your turn when actually the makeup takes a lot less time. I wish there would be some way to tackle this problem to give some kind of exclusivity to the brides on their big day because I am a fan of his work and would have loved to try on a different look by him.

To start with , everyone was polite and friendly . What I was disappointed with was the way I looked on my wedding day. It was my worst ever . The process was time consuming , which I would have been fine with had I looked even close to decent. I am pretty average looking . 8 out of 10 would call me beautiful . I am light skinned (NC 25 in MAC if anyone would care about ) .it's almost going to be a year and it gives me nightmares to think about the day. From the hair to the skin everything was ugly . Maybe talking then or before about your preferences might help. I did not, thinking they know what they are doing . What you must keep in mind is not all brides /works are on Instagram or over the internet . So use your findings very judiciously . I hope none of you look back on your special day the way I do . I was waiting for the most anticipated D-Day of my life since last May , 2019. And here I came to Ujjal Da for Reception Makeover. I am grateful to him for his cooperation at the last moment but the makeover is not much special . It's a Gentle disappointment form my side, as I spend almost more than 4 hours on the day of my reception, and got my makeover just within 20 minutes. I had to wait 2.30 hrs without any kind of progress after my saree draping. And the hair stylist is most unprofessional . I went from konnogar to salt lake , just for my dream makeup.And it was a disaster .so there will be no deep satisfactory five star from my end.

What he does is just pure magic..... i went there for party makeup consecutively two days and trust me when i say that his hands are like those of god itself. Pure perfection and nothing but perfection. His entire team is just as good. I personally regret not having known him for a longer period of time cause after what he has done i cant imagine having my makeup be done by anyone but him. Loved it!!!!!! Ujjwal is an extremely talented makeup artist who creates wonder with his brushes. He dedication during the makeover session starting from eye makeup to liplining, including the kalka is really praiseworthy. He did these all by himself and gave me an absolute flawless and beautiful look. His skills is really good. But for the price you pay, his setup isn't that professional. I went to an old local (forgetting the name) n he has opened a newer studio, hope the setup is better. I had paid for a 'mac package' which was around 5k more expensive than his basic 15k package. Absolutely do not opt for the mac package, he hardly used any mac products on me, lipstick was the only thing I know was mac. My base was kryolan, n I understand that I have problematic skin so kryolan was needed to make me look flawless (I did look good, I was happy with his work) so save your 5k n get the basic package, he isn't going to go all mac with 20k.. N that's the basic tip I wanted to give if you're considering him. I was pissed that I paid 5k extra for nothing. His staff is good but inefficient. They are good at their job but I think they lack in terms of professionalism. But overall if it's good makeup skill you're after above everything else, absolutely choose him.. He did all the makeup himself, n listened to me in terms of what I wanted. His assistants who drape n do hair are also very good, albeit a bit rude. Bottomline, go for the skill, not bedside manners n you won't be disappointed.
