To, The entire team at Whistling Teel, Anjali & of course, our very dear friend and man of the moment, Gaurav the dark horse haha Our initial readings of Gaurav as a person were quite clear- practical, understanding, quick on his feet, spoke from experience and was someone who had worked hard to make a name for himself. All these factors (along with Nikhil’s wedding of course), led us to be sure that it was whistling Teel that we wanted to go ahead with. None of them however, prepared any one of us for the experience we were to have. To put it simply, we’ve had the best time of our lives. I’m going to touch the most touchy topic first- decor 😂 All Shef and I have done in each function whilst entering (especially pyaar da pind and the wedding), was notice how every single thing we wanted and imagined within our moodboards was ALL there. I know people say this often, but I do mean it when I say you did make our vision and our dreams come to life. A lot of this credit goes to Anjali (because I know how badly she wanted to get some of the items done for us). In hindsight, I would’ve been a lot less hassled if I’d listened to you when you said “hum kar denge ho jayega” haha Coming to the thing we all are MOST grateful for- the vendors and the partners you’ve onboarded. From the involvement they’ve personally shown, to the love they have showered on our guests, to the final outcome of their responsibilities- we couldn’t have asked for better and kinder people. Hemantji and his team have not only made the best food, menus and presentation that we could have asked for, but have personally fed people at the wedding and treated it like their family wedding. Sandy was a complete star- from the stirrers, baaraat bottles and the orange peel stamp, to the taste of each cocktail served, he has made everyone super duper happy by remembering each person’s drink during each event. Parth of course, was a smash hit- his songs resonated with every member in the crowd, and his stage presence was impeccable. Least expected but the most crazy- the Ganga Aarti; this was one thing which we’d discussed but never physically planned out in detail and it turned out SO GOOD. Every single person said that it was a moment they’ll never forget, and blessings they’ll never receive elsewhere. Kudos to the team for managing logistics between hotels- 3 hotels is a tough one for sure, and nobody I spoke to said they had to wait for a car to ferry them back. Tuck station was a smash hit, everyone loved that they could pick what they wanted and take as much as they wanted. Tractor Baaraat, gidda crew and dhol team-people were in awe of the fact that we actually pulled it off. They were INSANELY good and I think my baaraat is the best baaraat I’ve attended (even if I may say so) Overall, each couple loves to feel like they had their dream wedding- we certainly did. But what makes us immensely happy is that each of the 110 guests has come and told us that never have they attended a wedding like this, and nor do they ever think they will and that’s something that I feel shall make you hold your head up high as an event team. In every Bollywood movie we see the bride’s parents running here and there taking care of the decorations, the varmala and so many small small things but with Gaurav on board every parent can take a chill pill. The Whistling Teel team know The Savoy, Mussoorie like the back of their hand. Savoy is a beautiful venue and it is challenging to make this vintage setting look more regal. But that’s what is the magic of this team. There decor was on point! Gaurav also reads his clients well. In our few meetings he was able to gauge what we were looking at. After having attended a number of destination weddings I was always apprehensive about how the decorators take control of the entire venue and the same is unapproachable to the guests. But here we never came to know when the set ups were done and taken down. It was all done in an extremely professional manner. Every minor detail was looked after by Gaurav and team. Anjali from his team ensured the smoothest check- in and check-outs I have ever seen at a destination wedding. We had some last minute changes due to the weather conditions, and Gaurav had to switch locations for Pheras at the last minute- he did a fab job under pressure and gave us the best that he could at the last minute. The best thing about Gaurav is that throughout the wedding planning process, he never made any false promises of me or my family. He always categorically informed us what was possible in a hilly mountainous area like Mussoorie and what wasn’t. Therefore we never had any false hopes. When it was time to deliver and execute, Gaurav and team gave us much much much much more than what he promised. Everything looked classy and beautiful and most importantly was able to withstand the winds and unpredictable weather of Mussoorie. There is absolutely no way I can imagine not having Gaurav help out for our wedding even when both Vivek and I were very hands on in our preparation. Two days in JW Marriott Mussoorie were the best days of our lives and Gaurav and his team made it possible. His team helped us with ideas/concepts for the wedding and then seamlessly executed them. At no point during the two days, we had a hiccup in the organization from Gaurav’s side. The team knows the property really well- that knowledge is great when you are planning a wedding from a different country. Gaurav also went out of his way to orchestrate things that were not part of our contract.

So I had my wedding in December 2017. Destination wedding in JW Marriott, Mussorrie. 15-20 days back we happen to have finalized Whistling Teel. Must say that was the best decision we made. The way they took care of everything from guests, decoration, management to making sure everything was well coordinated. What I loved about them was the extra mile they went in order to make it a dream wedding for me. They were just a message away if I need anything on the spot. The entire team was so polite and always available. Not single guest complained about anything. All I received was good feedback. To begin with their work: - Firstly, they were punctual, everything was arranged on time. - Secondly, their commitment and professionalism truly added value. - They were amazing in setting up the stage beautifully to sync up with the nature and then organising the events. I've added some pictures too. Just perfect. And yes, not to forget one main thing. I'd missed my luggage in the hotel and they took almost care to co-ordinate with the management to courier it back to Bangalore. You were amazing Jyotsna! The team came with a number of excellent references that made us incredulous at first; however, the creative ideas and photo references shown by Gaurav made us believe in him. Ultimately, it all came down to execution. We had a lovely location in Mussoorie -- the decoration was the icing on the cake! In short, it was exactly what we expected, and perhaps a little more. While the package seemed somewhat exorbitantly priced, we found the results satisfying. Gaurav has taste; an eye for detail; and a willingness to deliver on promises. We had no trouble working with him at all -- everything was planned rapidly because of the wonderful references we'd seen beforehand. On the two days, everything was executed flawlessly; the decorations were ready before time, and we got all that we were promised. In short, we couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. Even now, a couple of months after the wedding, we keep hearing from our guests and relatives how tasteful and well-executed the decorations and arrangements were. Planning a destination wedding from another country was supposed to be a challenge, but instead turned out to be a cakewalk, all owing to the team. Gaurav and his team had organised my younger sister's wedding in Mussoorrie at Jaypee Hotel. We zeroed in on them after going through many many vendors and could not have asked for a nicer and more professional lot to handle a family event so close to all our hearts. They went over and above what was required and were involved with the wedding arrangements like family members would be. The decor was absolutely stunning and refreshing.
