I got to know about Kya from my cousin. I had booked her services for my wedding and I did not regret it one bit. She was an absolute delight. She is so professional and the look she created for me was exactly what I wanted as a bride. The make up was SO good and looked so natural. I absolutely loved it. I got SOOO many compliments. Well, as a bride, finding a makeup artist is the most important job. From the beginning, when I first messaged her on wed me good app till my D day, Mya has been a supportive person. Pretty average work. I initially liaised with Mya well in advance, few months prior to the wedding in Nov 2017. As I live in Australia, I met her when I visited India in mid Sept. I requested for a trial makeup, but it was conveyed that she doesn’t offer trails. She seemed confident with her work, so I decided to trust the MUA. First mistake. I had booked her for 3 functions Sagan, wedding and the reception. I discussed my issues with regards to my bridal wear, looks, accessories, etc. with her much before D day. She asked me to get a hair accessory (hair clip) for the reception for a so said ‘Gatsby look’. So I bought one. I requested to meet her few days before the wedding again to discuss the final looks, but apparently she was too busy to meet. For my Sagan she sent her assistant instead of herself. I had requested flowers for hair which were not got by her assistant. My father had to go to the market to get few flowers just before the function. False eyelashes that were used on me did not suit my eyes. As the glue reacted causing tears to fall of and damaging my make up. The black kajal was hence all over my eyes and under eyes. My eyes were burning as well throughout the functions. Next day was my wedding, Mya was booked for 7.30am she turned up at 9am. Because of this she send my photographers back who knocked on our room at 3 different times. As such My solo shots as a bride were not clicked. The one day that you need your best shots the most. Who is to blame here? I was having fever and was on medicines. At this time you need a great makeup to overshadow it all. Instead she gave me Grey eyes that made me look duller and the under eyes looked patchy. For the evening reception, her hairstylist had to run away halfway in between the makeup session; as she had a flight to catch for another wedding. As a paying client, Don’t I deserve to get my hair styled with full efficiency and attention? Again Mya gave me grey eye shadow for the reception , where she could have explored more beautiful colour options. I looked weary with the grey tone. She re-used the same false eyelash set from the wedding function. The hair style did not have a finishing touch and looked below average for a bride’s reception look. Honestly many of the guests had better make up and hairstyling than the bride. It is not that I looked ugly but it could have been far better; looking back at it now. Atleast for the amount we pay, we expect to look absolutely stunning on our very special day. Sadly this did not turn out true for me. The lessons learnt by me are definitely to not trust your MUA blindly, atleast get a small trial to get a little idea of your looks, and the MUAs style versus your expectations. Mya seemed a good and gentle person but her work for me was purely average.

What I liked about her was that she gives the other person enough room for them to be comfortable. She would politely suggest something but never force it on you. What can I say about Mya?... So I found her, the planner and the photographer through wedmegood. I live in the US so I was a little nervous booking people without being in the same continent. I met her in July for a quick meeting and trial make up and my apprehensions were put to rest. Mya knows what she's doing and will also take your preferences into account but will blend both opinions together and give you something that will make her happy as an artist which she is and the bride as well. If you want someone you can steamroll into doing what you want, I don't think she is it. She is an artist and not just some neighbourhood parlour lady. We need them too but not for your wedding. No insult intended to them. The reason I got a makeup artist is because I needed someone with experience to make me look perfect on my all my functions which she did

I will start with a word of advice for all future brides. Your make up artist is the most important person for you in your wedding and it makes sense to invest your time and effort in selecting one. Having said that, I was more than lucky to meet Mya. She was recommended by a good friend. She is very, very experienced and a thorough professional. And at the same time she is very friendly. I met her in advance and kept in touch with her till the wedding..discussing the look, jewelry, lehenga, sleep deprivation, last moment bacne.. What not! I would take her advice for everything and I am glad I did that. I was very happy with the results and I have received a thousand compliments for the wedding look. If you don't want to take the stress of how you are looking, and want to leave it to a professional, you should absolutely hire her services, without fail.

Sheer waste of money. She has a major attitude problem and minimal acceptance of rejection. She can't digest that people can have different likings. Not everyone wants to be plastic and plastered with makeup, some have a taste for subtle makeup as well. And she can't digest denial. If you don't like her work she will get furious, if you try to show her what you want she will get overly defensive and start defaming other makeup artists. Not sure what is the basis of her attitude.

Offered me to send her junior artist for the price of her own- I don't know how that works. she would not listen to you if you ask her for suggestions on what would look good with your outfit. To top it all, she's extremely rude which makes things tougher. In the end, I was glad that she could not make it to do my make up on my D day, who wants to involve in a spat on their big day! Amidst all the great reviews above, i feel responsible to bring to light the unpleasant experience i had with Maya! Let me start with the positives and i shall explain what exactly went wrong still. I must say that she is good with her work and i thankfully did make a pretty bride. But the worst nightmare for a bride was lived by me. She has a major attitude problem and does not understand the concept of a constructive feedback. Maya made me cry on the most special day of my life by reacting really arrogantly and acting super rigid. I didn't like my over decorated Christmas tree look that she gave me for my sangeet so i had politely called her on my wedding morning and told her she would need to tone down my makeup for the wedding. She wasn't very receptive on the phone as well but i thought I'll handle her once she comes. That was my biggest judgement error for that day. I had a dream wedding with the only mishap being Maya telling me things like- don't teach me how to deal with my team. She stopped instructing the hair dresser and threw tantrums and only behaved herself a little when i started to weep. My family obviously by then had turned ballistic and super upset that she made me cry. So i do confess that things got ugly. But trust me when i say this that the way she behaved that day it was me and my family who dealt with her, else others would have just sent her home right away. So for the final time Maya- my attempt for a constructive feedback again- you are in the service industry. You need to treat your clients like queens. You cannot treat them the way you treated me and my family. Please take anger management sessions or do something to deal with the attitude problem you have. I am in the service industry myself and matter what you cannot ill treat and misbehave with your clients that too after pushing them to their limit with your bad approach and unprofessional behaviour.

Living in Belgium, and planning my wedding back home (India) was challenging enough with the most crucial part- finalizing a MUA! It was a roller coaster ride. Finalllyy, I am soooo glad that I finalized it with Mya&team. I was apprehensive, but without having to discuss my looks much, she could sync in easily and made the best choices for my looks for each ceremony. The makeup was totally appropriate and non-cakey (which I feared the most!) I was anxious about airbrush but it turned out really well. I was showered with compliments and everyone loved her work. I am really grateful to her for making me look exactly how I could have ever ever imagined on my wedding! She is perfect with her work and her sense of style is impeccable and each look turned out beautiful and classy! I used their services for my wedding day. Her team traveled with us and she was extremely flexible with timings, accommodation, etc (they drove overnight to accommodate me and make it on time). We had to move the wedding timing due to weather conditions so there was a little bit of a rush to get ready. She tried to remain calm and get through the entire process as efficiently as possible. She was probably panicking herself but tried to calm me down all throughout. She did a decent job overall - the draping was excellently done! Gorgeous eye makeup. BUT, I did not feel like the gorgeous bride every woman dreams of being on her big day. I had suggested that she match the foundation shade with what I usually wear, but she asked me to trust her. She chose 2 shades too dark and I looked quite dull and dusky - my whole family was quite surprised (shocked) to see my skin tone. I am not traditionally fair, but definitely not the shade I looked! The photographer had to do some serious editing to make sure I looked decent. Even my husband later admitted that it wasn't just in my head! NOT the kind of feedback a bride wants to get for her wedding day makeup! My hair lacks volume, so she used hair filler pieces to finish the styling, but the quality of the pieces weren't great and the visible portion of my hair looked dry and fake (not sure if it was a weird hairspray or the dry and cold weather, but my hair, although thin, has never looked so lackluster). I am a perfectionist - ESPECIALLY on my wedding day. But I wasn't given a chance to look at myself through the process and only got a glimpse of the final look. I was quite upset, but it was too late to change anything!

So here's a girl whose entire wedding plan came into being in 2 weeks, and Mya was kind enough to accommodate me at such a short notice. Since i was abroad and landed in delhi only a week before the wedding, Mya ensured she remained in constant touch with me. She was open to suggestions (or rather my apprehensions about 'that bridal look' and would constantly try to calm me down (read: hysterical conversations on how ugly I'd look ;) ). Our's was a morning gurudwara wedding and Mya just knew what to do! She had thought about the colours, the hair, what would she want to highlight, etc. The result was fabulous! Mya is a fantastic MUA and she did my makeup for 3 of my functions. From our first meeting till my last function, she always calmed me down and ensured that I enjoyed the whole experience as a bride. She was very patient as I was quite a talkative Bride....and took care of all my concerns, be it hair style or the makeup. Upon her suggestion I opted for airbrush makeup and it was absolutely Flawless- non cakey, very natural and dewy makeup - just how i wanted! Perfection! Thank you Mya!

<p>I got to know about Mya from wed me good. It was one of the best decisions to hire her as she did a brilliant job with my look. I never even imagined that I could look so pretty. If you want to look naturally beautiful and not caked up for your D day then Mya is the person you must contact. I hardly gave any thought to my look while totally giving the control to her. <p>Mya was such a treat to work with!! I think she is amazing both professionally and personally! Starting out I was a bit nervous planning my wedding in Udaipur while living Los Angeles, but she was so easy to work with from afar. We WhatsApped regularly and she made me feel absolutely comfortable with her process, providing her portfolio images, following up when needed and being available at all times. Closer to the wedding, we did a quick meet and greet and decided what looks I would do for each of my events. Although this was a brief meeting (20-30 minutes) she remembered all my preferences and was diligent about reminding me to bring certain accessories or flowers. At the wedding itself, she surpassed ALL expectations. I was extremely worried that the makeup would look overdone and unnatural, but it was just perfect! She was so patient with all my specifications and worked around my likes and dislikes (even if they were unusual? I had asked for no bindis, noserings etc). She never once argued and happily adjusted anything according to how I preferred them. She was fast and never complained if I came late to prepare for the next event (which I often did?). Hair was great! Her assistant Bhavna is quick and super talented! To top it all off the team was so much fun to work with ? we were constantly laughing, listening to music and having a great time before each event.
