Well, what do I write about Shalaka?! Let me start off with the first conversation that I had with her over a call. Shalaka is a very approachable and communicable Artist. The most nicest part about her is that all though she is amazing at her work, she is still a very humble human being, which is the most important quality being an artist. Since I had a lockdown wedding in the peak of the situation in Pune, I was really thankful to god that Shalaka was available on the many dates that were changed, and she did not have any complaints about the numerous changes, understanding the then situation. I had my events on the 21st and 22nd of May, at Manohar Mangal Karyalay. Shalaka had come fully well equipped with all that was necessary and more. Her friend and assistant Anu, was also brilliant at her work and she did the makeover for my mother. When I had the phone conversation with Shalaka, I was pretty sure of the kind of looks that I wanted for both the days of my event. She heard me out completely and every little detail was paid attention to. Even for my mother as well, I had requested for a simple and elegant look which would make her feel comfortable and not make her conscious of herself. Anu, did the job extremely well. Being a dancer myself, I was quite particular about how my makeup should be, and did not want it to be patchy or too loud for either occasions. I am so glad that I chose Shalaka as my MUA for my big day, because she gave me looks that I would remember all my life. Truly made my big day a memorable one by making me look as beautiful and elegant as I ever could be. The products that Shalaka uses are very nice and I did not face any issues like dry skin or rashes or pimples or anything else, while taking off the makeup or even later. The products she used for me and my mother, were extremely balanced and they blended with our original skin tone. The hairdos were extremely classy and beautiful. All in all, it was an amazing experience working with Artists like Shalaka and Anu. Hey peeps! At first I was very skeptical to find a makeup artist in Pune since I am based in Delhi and didn’t know much about Pune. Shalaka was my MUA for all of my wedding events. I took 3-4 Hair and Make up trials before I booked her. I had very specific criterias as my skin is acne prone and has some acne scars as well. She nailed my makeup trial and I loved the products and the brands she used for the base she created, looked natural and flawless (like any bride wants) She effortlessly showed me her hairstyling skills during my trial and..voila! I had found my artist right there! She gave me some basic food and skin routine tips to follow which helped my face look better on the d-day. After enough research and 2/3 other trials I can confidently say that Shalaka charges reasonably for her services and makes it worth it at the end of it all! I could only trust HER for my mother and my sister’s Makeup for my special day and she did a great job at dressing them up and managed to make me look like the BEST version of me! right on schedule!
