My experience booking South City Banquet Halls (operated by Wetripz and Events Pvt. Ltd.) through the WedMeGood platform was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. As the groom, I had high expectations for what was supposed to be the most special day of my life, but this venue turned it into one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences imaginable. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs—it’s by far the worst banquet hall I’ve ever dealt with. The staff are rude, lazy, incompetent, and completely unprofessional. We arrived at the venue at 8 AM sharp, as per our agreement and schedule. To our shock, there was no tea or coffee provided, even though it was clearly included in the package we paid for. The place hadn’t been cleaned or set up at all—no decorations, no arrangements, nothing. There was literally no staff present except a couple of cleaners who had no idea what to do and couldn’t help with anything until around 10 AM. We had no water available until 11:45 AM, despite repeatedly requesting it multiple times. When we asked about the tea/coffee, the staff casually told us to go buy it from the in-house coffee shop. This forced me and my family to shell out an extra ₹10,000 for tea for all my guests—and the same happened with my wife’s side of the family. We had already paid for this service, so this was pure cheating and added unnecessary stress and expense on the wedding morning. The rooms we were supposed to get at 9 AM as per the agreement? Not available. We had to dump all our luggage (including clothes, jewelry, and essentials) in the lobby for over 2 hours. After endless follow-ups and chasing staff, they finally gave us the rooms—but it was chaos because no one was managing or instructing the staff properly. They seemed clueless and disorganized. For the pre-wedding video, the projector was provided extremely late. There was even a ridiculous argument about LCD vs. projector. When we insisted on the projector (as agreed), they deliberately played the video at the end of the function, making it completely useless and irrelevant. No one cared about our requests. The mandap seating arrangements had been clearly conveyed to the management in advance, but they ignored everything. Instead of proper comfortable seating, they gave us uncomfortable boards for the bride, groom, and priest to sit on. It was ridiculous and embarrassing—how do you expect people to sit through rituals on makeshift boards? We paid extra for flower petal machines for the entry (two machines as per the package). For the groom’s entry, the machine wasn’t tested beforehand and malfunctioned badly. I had to stand there waiting for 10 minutes while they frantically tried to fix it. Only one machine was used despite payment for two. For the bride’s entry, they didn’t even bother getting the machine to work at all—it was a total failure and ruined the moment. They also completely messed up the food. We had specifically requested Rabdi as one of the desserts, but without informing us or checking, they replaced it with Rasmalai. No heads-up, no apology—just a careless swap. But the absolute worst part—the most heartbreaking and infuriating—was the behavior of the manager named Amar after the event when we pointed out all these issues. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He tried to divide the two families by giving preferential treatment and importance to one side over the other. He even had the audacity to call the groom’s family arrogant in messages. I have WhatsApp proof of his disgusting comments and attitude. His incompetent, arrogant, and divisive behavior completely ruined what should have been a joyful moment for both families. No manager should ever speak to clients like that, especially on their wedding day. South City Banquet Halls (Wetripz and Events Pvt. Ltd.) is hands-down the worst place to host your marriage. The people are rude, lazy, and have zero accountability. They take your money, make promises they never intend to keep, and then blame the customers when things go wrong. Save yourself the regret—do not book here, no matter what discounts or promises they make on WedMeGood. I wish I had read honest reviews like this before wasting my money and ruining such an important day. 0/10. Avoid at all costs!

The management of this venue is very poor in communication, lack of organization & unprofessional. The lack of basic hospitality such as water was missing. Would highly not recommend any non bengali .

South City Banquet hall is really good. Event management company is very very bad. No professionalism in behaviour, disobey the commitments, no supervision on the activities during the day. I will strongly say if you have other choices of banquets, please select others and do not select this banquet because of the wrong event management company. Event company people are completely rude, unethical. We have not got water as well as tea for more than 2-3 hours in spite of followup. The food menu was changed without informing either party. Missed dry ice as well as flower patels show at the time of entry of groom and bride. I personally will not suggest this banquet. Thanks
