A Dream Wedding at Taj Bakel We recently had the pleasure of hosting our daughter's wedding at Taj Bakel, and it was truly an unforgettable experience for all of us. From the moment we decided on the venue, everything fell into place seamlessly. Our journey began with a warm introduction to the property by General Manager Mr. Shiju, followed by the meticulous planning and execution by Mr. Biju Michael. Mr. Michael's dedication and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of our daughter's special day was flawless. His creative idea for the couple's entry by raft in the river was a showstopper, setting the tone for an unforgettable celebration. The culinary experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the meticulous planning by Chief Mr. Ambalagan. The lunch spread was exquisite, and our guests were thoroughly impressed. With a limited guest list of close family and friends, we were able to create an intimate and joyful atmosphere in the beautiful activity lawn. I got married recently at Taj Bekal and we had an excellent experience at the venue. I interacted most directly with Mr. Dinesh, Mr. Michael, and Chef Ambalangan, all of whom were absolute delights to work with. Working with Taj was probably one of the easiest aspects of planning a big Indian wedding. I wish I had hired them as my wedding planners in all honesty, because they were incredibly competent, detail-oriented, kind, and patient in all respects. Chef was lovely, had great ideas, and cooked up one of the best menus that we curated together - guests have not stopped raving about this several months on. We’re so grateful for everyone at this hotel and for them going above and beyond in many ways. I cannot recommend them enough!

We got married at Taj Bekal, which is located in a picturesque village in north Kerala in the Kasargod district. The property sits on the Kapil river, with the backwaters on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. The unspoiled surroundings provided for rustic charm and a serene and peaceful environment, which is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Adding to the charm are the rooms which resemble Kerala’s Ketuvallams or houseboats. We picked Kerala because the state has a special place in our hearts. As kids, we went on a class trip to Kerala and had adjoining rooms which meant tons of late nights chatting and playing games. Source

Kerala has something so magical about it. Lush greenery, backwaters, beaches, food and the people - it ticked every box for us! We chose Taj Bekal Resort & Spa as our venue. Since we planned the wedding from Sydney with the help of a wedding planner based in Mumbai, we really had to research and trust our wedding planners! I picked the venue and had our wedding planners go there to check it out! The best part about Taj Bekal Resort & Spa is that it has the beach on one side and backwaters on the other so we had our Mehendi & Sangeet by the beach and Wedding by the backwaters! Our wedding was at Taj Bekal Resort and Spa, a venue Aathithya and I fell in love with during our very first meeting with our wedding designers. Its secluded and perfect for a close knit wedding . Aathithya is from Trivandrum and we wanted a destination wedding that still felt like home! Taj Bekal was just that! Our wedding took several months to plan and the staff at Taj Bekal went the extra mile and were always approachable, always helpful. The hospitality was incomparable! Aside from it being the hotel where Sid proposed to me, we just found the Taj Bekal Resort & Spa in Kerala to have an aura of calm and beauty. The main lawns of the resort overlook the backwaters and the ocean. Additionally the resort only has 66 rooms which means we could book out the entire place while keeping our wedding small.Source
