Roy Bari Events is one of the best wedding venue located in South Calcutta, Tollygunge. We had an amazing experience during my sister's wedding. The owners are professional and nice. Highly recommended!

My wedding on 8th Feb 2026 at Roy Bari was ruined by gross negligence. Management is so unprofessional that the owner hung up on my wife when she requested a refund for undelivered services. Dwitiya Roy used to call and communicate with us during our booking, however her behaviour completely changed post event and payments. They even blamed my guests for flower shower failure, despite drone footage proving that flower shower on one end of the stage did not work, handler did not have a clue as to how to operate the flower shower machine. My guests used flower petals bought for the wedding puja to throw petals during our varmala. Key Issues: Negligence: My bride had to fix decor herself in her wedding attire because staff failed to follow the plan she had provided to them. Decor Blunders: Wrong event name on welcome board, flex design for stage not as agreed, brown tape used instead of pins promised, LED curtains missing, and half the "flower shower" failed. Hygiene: Washrooms were so filthy and clogged that guests had to drive to a friend's house to use a toilet. Toilet in my room was clogged. Valet: Arrived 6 hours late for a 2 PM wedding. The only staff member at the valet desk admitted he couldn't even drive. Loss: They lost remote, adaptor and one of our expensive customized LED sign while in their custody. No Support: Our contact, Mr. Pitambar, stopped taking calls mid-event. Roy Bari makes big promises but delivers chaos and disrespect. Please avoid this venue if you want an stress-free wedding.

I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment regarding the management of my wedding on 8th February at Roy Bari. What was meant to be the most important day of my life turned into an experience filled with stress, embarrassment and last-minute chaos due to severe mismanagement. When I raised these concerns post-event and requested a refund for extra decor services that were paid for but not delivered, the owner disconnected my call mid-conversation. The management dismissed serious lapses as “minor issues,” despite their own on-ground staff admitting that agreed services were not executed. They stopped responding after a few follow-ups. For example, they claimed the flower shower malfunctioned because my guests intervened, despite drone footage clearly proving no one except their people touched their machine. Why should I pay for services that were never delivered? There was a complete lack of accountability, coordination and professionalism. Execution and responsiveness are basic expectations from a venue and both are severely lacking. 1. Valet Mismanagement Valet drivers arrived only around 8 PM for a 2 PM sundowner wedding (communicated one year in advance). Guests parked their own cars while one person sat at the desk doing nothing and admitted he did not even know how to drive 2. Decor Planning Failure The decor presentation prepared by their team did not reflect what was discussed and finalised in meetings. Despite repeated reminders, no proper PPT was shared. I was forced to prepare the decor PPT myself just three days before my wedding, defeating the purpose of planning meetings and documentation. 3. Non-Execution of Agreed Decor Even after sharing the PPT and receiving confirmation, several agreed elements were not executed. As a bride in full attire and makeup, I had to personally step in to fix decor issues. Major concerns included: • Welcome board displayed the wrong event name (“Reception” instead of “Wedding”), did not include our logo (shared two weeks prior) and had poor visual quality. The replacement was a random printout of our logo that did not fit the easel and had no event details. • One of the two flower shower machines did not function; my family manually threw petals purchased for the actual wedding pujo. • Flex design was completely different in colour and style from what was approved and did not match the decor. • Bride entry pathway had to be changed five minutes before my entry. • Agreed LED light curtain was missing. • Transition gate and photo blocker were not as finalised. • Brown tape was used on carpets despite repeated instructions to use pins. The tape is clearly visible in my wedding photographs, including at the mandap. 4. Unhygienic Washrooms Despite requesting housekeeping, bathrooms were extremely dirty. I had to send guests to a friend’s house nearby, which was extremely embarrassing. The groom’s washroom was clogged for most of the event. There was no handwash in guest bathrooms as it was not refilled. 5. Non-Functional Locker & No Coordination The Godrej lock of the almirah did not work, leaving no secure storage for valuables. The team was unavailable when I called them to understand the locker mechanism and never got back. We repeatedly informed them that ours was a sundowner wedding and timing was crucial. Despite this, the management seemed careless and unconcerned. The manager stopped taking calls mid-evening and was unavailable during urgent coordination. Additionally, one of our customised LED signs, the remote and adapters were lost while in their custody. This was a large custom piece and another smaller light we had gotten custom made from neon attack. This is sheer irresponsibility with client property. These are not minor glitches as they claim, this reflects gross negligence, lack of execution control and zero accountability on one of the most important days of our lives. I strongly caution anyone considering this venue. Promises made in meetings did not translate into proper on-ground execution or post-event responsibility.

This venue in the heart of Tollygunge, is a green oasis. The team was very helpful and professional . The venue is very nicely done and the gardens are very well kept and landscaped. Highly recommend it, specially during winters!
