Pretty Pastel Beachside Wedding In Goa With A Super Fun Haldi

When your wedding has a combination of the sun, sand and sea, then it's just not a wedding- it's an extended party! Nikita and Elijah's wedding in Goa was one that was vibrant and happy- and we loved the bride's custom pastel lehenga. Their wedding was a the perfect fusion of eastern and western influences, with themed events and pretty decor and outfits. We especially loved their "Anjuna market," haldi, which is such a cool idea!

Meet Nikita and Elijah
Nikita and Elijah start their first year at Tufts University on the same floor (Hill4!). Nikita thought Elijah had the coolest style and asked him to take a picture before their Fall Gala. Elijah thought Nikita was beautiful and incredibly funny, but he didn't want to ruin their friendship. They didn't stop thinking about each other that year and the next. They started dating their second year at 19 years old!
Haldi
Our vision for our wedding was to create an intimate celebration surrounded by our nearest and dearest, many of whom had never experienced the magic of India or the joy of an Indian wedding. So, we curated a carnival-style haldi ceremony infused with lavender accents, reminiscent of the vibrant energy of an "Anjuna market," where guests could explore little treasures from across India and Goa.

Sangeet
Transitioning to the sangeet, we embraced disco glamour, with our friends preparing lively dances and engaging in friendly competition. It was a night of sparkle and laughter, perfectly setting the stage for our journey ahead.
Wedding
As we approached the wedding day, our palette transformed into soft pastels, mirroring the hues of the beach and the breathtaking sunset. It was a serene and romantic setting for our union, where the beauty of nature intertwined with our love.
Reception
Finally, for the reception, we introduced Western elements such as toasts, a mother-son dance, and touching speeches from our families. It was a fusion of cultures and traditions, reflecting the unique blend of east-meets-west that defines our love story.

Discovering the perfect fusion of eastern and western influences for our wedding led us on a global adventure, from the sun-kissed shores of Mexico to the ancient beauty of Greece and the laid-back vibes of California. Yet, it was India that stole our hearts and became the ultimate destination for our special day. With my family's roots deeply embedded in India, especially in the cherished moments within my Nana-Nani's home in Etawah, where milestones like learning to walk and talk unfolded, the connection to this land runs deep within me. Introducing Elijah to my extended family in India only solidified the bond, as he too felt an undeniable sense of belonging. Goa, with its captivating blend of cultures and breathtaking landscapes, emerged as the natural choice—a destination within India that perfectly encapsulates our love story. As we prepare to exchange vows surrounded by the vibrant energy of Goa, we are reminded that our wedding journey is not just about celebrating our union, but also honoring the rich tapestry of our shared experiences and heritage. India, with all its warmth and beauty, is where our hearts have found their home.
