Bridal Breakdown: Parineeti Chopra In Manish Malhotra

BY Sakshi | 25 Sep, 2023 | 3205 views | 4 min read

2022 and 2023 have seen their own share of ivory and gold brides, and Parineeti Chopra also chose this modern palette for her wedding. The wedding was a celebration of pastel shades with the bride and the groom picking ivory, but it did look pretty. Parineeti Chopra wore a champagne gold Manish Malhotra lehenga which was simple yet elegant. So let's delve deeper and break down her bridal look, which did have some inspiration for brides-to-be to!

The Jewellery

If we were to pick our favourite thing about Parineeti's bridal look, it would have to be the jewellery! That necklace with uncut diamonds and stunning emeralds is a modern masterpiece, and we love how it was worn with a layered effect. Majorly crushing on that 2-stone teardrop jade green maangtikka too, very unique and pretty! Her earrings were polki studs which let her necklace and maangtikka stand out more.

The Outfit

For the wedding, Parineeti wore an ecru handcrafted golden lehenga of tone-on-tone geometrical art crafted over 2,500 hours of love by Manish Malhotra. She wore 2 beaded dupattas with her look, one in pastel pink that was draped over the chest, and the other as a veil over the head. The drape was so doubt different- adding more drama to the blouse thanks to the pearl-lined border.

The Veil

Talking about personalisation, which seems to be quickly becoming a bridal favourite, Parineeti chose to have her veil personalised. She wore a artisanally hand embroidered in the craft of badla work with her groom Raghav's name adorning it in Devanagari script.

The Makeup and Hair

The makeup for Parineeti reminded us of Alia Bhatt's wedding- very clean nude makeup with a barely there sort of look. Natural yet radiant- a look we are loving on brides! Parineeti looked stunning in nude-toned makeup that included a wash of blush, champagne-toned eyeshadow, and muted pink for her lips. The eyes were lined with kohl and natural-looking lashes finished the look.

Talking about her hair, Parineeti like Alia Bhatt also chose to leave her hair down, straightened, centre-parted and swept back to allow her jewellery to shine through.

The Mehendi

Her bridal mehendi on the hands and feet was super simple too! She chose cute little kaleera designs for the mehendi, which complimented her hand jewellery. Parineeti paired her mehendi with a white and nude manicure, keeping with the wedding's minimalist style. We love how she's showing that clean girl nails can also work beautifully for brides.

Bridal Accessories

Parineeti wore bespoke kaliras, choodas & lehenga latkan motifs by Mrinalini Chandra. She paired her ecru lehenga with pastel pink choodas, and kaleere that weren't over the top! Very minimal and pretty keeping in line with the theme of the wedding. But what was truly special was the lehenga latkan that she got customised, which was a tribute to her late nani.

According to Manish Malhotra, "Some details make all the difference. I distinctly remember discussing the lehenga design with Parineeti, who mentioned adding her Nani's challa (traditional keychain) to it! She wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to her nani, who used to wear the same challa in her saree with the keys, a symbol of being the lady of the house. For her, the sound of the challa when her nani walked around the house, was a melody of strength and grace. And that's when I knew we HAD to add that piece of legacy to her lehenga. Of course, we added more elements that were significant to both Raghav and Parineeti like London, music, Khanda Sahib and more. It was not just an accessory... but a piece of her that Parineeti would have on her special day."

Talking about the kaleere, Mrinalini Chandra says, "At first glance, the Kalira appears to be dainty ornaments cascading from the bangle. However, its true beauty lies in the underlying story it conveys—a tale of love. The design of these Kaliras is very special. Each motif represents a moment of serendipity, a chance encounter when their paths crossed in a cosmic dance."
