Décor is an art in itself so getting it right on small functions is a big task! And yes, you don't really hire a decorator for the little things so you got to get creative and ask your friends and families to pitch in. Here are some super creative and easy hacks of decorating your lovely home for small functions - WMG-Certified!
The Art of Paper
Lanterns, pompoms, flowers, hearts, tassels, you can just about make anything from the right kind of paper. Basically make sure you do your homework and read up on what paper is best for certain projects. Pinterest is full of so many exciting ideas for paper projects. Make a wall of paper flowers or spread paper-made lanterns across your home. But most importantly, the paper lanterns should not look "birthday party" and how do you do that? Just use pastel hues or an interesting mix of colours - a few fusion shades can also make them look more adult and fun.
Table Décor
Have one big table where you can focus all your décor ideas on. Have a dessert bar which can be your hero or have a table runner with fun quotes written on it. Having different quotes at each table is a fun way to differentiate them and add a theme. You can also have a bunch of flowers hanging from the ceiling over the table or put it around the table! Make one spot / space the hero and keep it that way!
Play with lights!
Fairy lights can be you saviour in terms of beautiful décor as well as money. Drape a string of lights over windows or across door frames. Make sure that you use this hack during evening functions to see your home lit up like a picture! Put those fairy lights behind sheer curtains or use them all over the ceiling to create a canopy. Add flowers for chutzpah. Cheap, cute and best!

Take a bunch of glasses, immerse some flowers in a glass full of water & top it up with tea lights! You can also take a huge decorative glass container and do the same for a centrepiece in your living room or balcony. You could also switch tea lights with scented candles for an extra punch.
