Stunning Kolkata Wedding With An Understated Bride And The Prettiest Decor!

Nothing like a minimalistic bride to make a random day, a winner, right? And it's also been a while since we got a wedding from the city of joy, Kolkata so we are over the moon. Priya and Monil's wedding is just so chic we are still recovering from gazing repeatedly at her grey-beige lehenga by Sabyasachi. The jewellery was super simple and the decor was vintage so it was dreamy all the way. Taj Bengal & The Park Hotel made for a wonderful space while Ekta Sharma at Krafted Knots did all the planning beautifully. The cherry on the cake is obviously Malvika Periwal Photography who made sure every little romantic aspect was captured to the hilt.
Meet Monil & Priya
"I met Monil in the autumn of 2008, when we were both freshers' starting out at medical school at Imperial College, and it was a truly exciting time for us. We had unprecedented independence, all of Central London at our doorstep and limitless enthusiasm and energy. We lived in adjoining halls of residence which meant we shared the same group of friends, attended all the same events and failed to attend most of our first-year medical school lectures! (Shhh...)
Although 6 years of university studies did fly by, the shared, happy memories of that time will remain etched in our lives forever.
Monil proposed over Christmas in 2016 in Brussels which was truly lovely. The setting of Belgian Christmas markets, the crisp winter air, and fabulous chocolates made it extremely romantic and we savored every precious moment of the occasion" says Priya.

Having grown up in Kolkata, it was there that I had always wanted to get married and Taj Bengal seemed the perfect choice due to its' prime location, renowned hospitality, and delectable food. We had a morning wedding in the Crystal Hall. It was a mix of traditional Bengali and Gujarati customs. The decor was done entirely by Romit’s team at Baisakhi’s. I didn’t want the venue to look unnecessarily busy but loved the idea of a floral chandelier made of tuberoses at the mandap.
