This Couple Ditched the Drama & Had The Prettiest Home Wedding Instead!

BY Sakshi | 12 Dec, 2025 | 510 views | 3 min read

Krisha and Varil are literally the definition of “right place, right swipe.” They matched on Hinge, bonded instantly over their “I’d rather spend on travel than a big wedding” energy, and somehow ended up finding each other instead of just new destinations. So naturally, when it was time to say “I do,” they skipped the noise, skipped the chaos, and chose a zero-stress, all-heart home wedding on their Mumbai terrace- with the Arabian Sea casually vibing in the background. No overplanning, no extravagance… just calm, simplicity, and a celebration that felt exactly like them: real, grounding, and beautifully effortless!

Meet Krisha and Varil

"We met on Hinge, and the funniest part is that his bio said “I’d rather spend my money travelling than on a big wedding” — and I instantly felt seen because I’ve always thought the same way. I’ve always preferred intimate celebrations, even my birthdays are low-key, so it felt like we were already aligned without trying.

The best part? We both thought it was all about travel, and somehow ended up finding our each other instead — and while of course there’s no fixed definition of being a “traveller,” it really resonated with us because it was always more about experiences than anything else", the bride tells us.

About The Wedding

5/12/2025- Mumbai, on our home terrace overlooking the Arabian Sea.A home wedding just felt right for us. We weren’t looking for anything extravagant or over-planned. We’re both spontaneous, a little stubborn about what we like, and the idea of spending months coordinating a big production never aligned with who we are. We wanted something simple, real, and meaningful — not stressful.I still remember booking my outfit almost at the last minute, and somehow everything fell perfectly into place. It reminded us that not everything needs a detailed timeline to feel just right. We’ve always admired the wedding process, but we also strongly believe that everyone should have the freedom to shape their day exactly the way they want — without judgment or expectations. And we were incredibly lucky. Our parents, siblings, and friends understood us completely. No pressure, no second-guessing, just pure support — and that made the entire experience even more special. Our story has always been built around quiet, grounding moments — the kind that reassure you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. So when it came to the wedding, we knew we didn’t want anything maximalist. We wanted calm, simplicity, and honesty — and that’s exactly what we created. Our signing and court wedding took place at home, making everything feel even more personal and real. No rush, no noise — just us choosing each other, gently and wholeheartedly. The celebrations that followed were intimate and minimal, filled with easy laughter and moments that felt truly ours. It reminded us that love doesn’t need volume to be felt. Sometimes, it’s steady, familiar, and peaceful — like home.

WedMeGood was really helpful through the process. We used it mainly to explore décor ideas and visualise the vibe we wanted, which made everything feel simple and fun.
