Recently, I had my sister's wedding and I was absolutely worried thinking about who to hire to do her makeup. But then, I came across Kajol's Instagram handle and really loved her body of work. I tried booking Kajol but due to her tight schedule and huge demand, she assigned her team to do the job. Initially, I was apprehensive since I wanted Kajol to personally do her makeup. But boy oh boy was I wrong! The make-up done by her team was so good that I was stunned. And that too at reasonable prices! From the hairdresser to the makeup artist, all of them were highly trained and professional and clearly knew what they were doing. The hairdresser was extremely skilful and took special care of my sister's hair since she had issues of split ends and dandruff. The level of hygiene in her way of working especially during these times was commendable. The lady who did my sister's make-up was also very good. The eye makeup done by her was absolutely stunning. I could clearly see that they were using high-end expensive products cause the next day my sister's skin didn't break out which happens to her quite a lot even when she puts a normal foundation on. So, I wanted to book Kajol for one of my close friend’s engagement, but due to her unavailability , she had assigned her Team to do my makeup. Makeup for a friend’s Engagement Ceremony would be categorised under “Party Makeup” i guess .. but Kajol charges a sum that is equal to Engagement makeup for the same. I wanted to hire her as I was heavily influenced by her social media profile and thought her work would be great. However, I was proved wrong & how! Her team lacked in the basics. One lady was hired for the makeup , another for hair. The one who was appointed to do my makeup, had forgotten basic hygiene stuff at home - namely, dry tissues, napkin etc. Her makeup was totally average. Also, please do not fall for them stating their products are high-end. There were some local products, some first copy and some dupes. Kajol charges a hefty sum , stating she uses high end products - but they are all fake / dupes / local products. Also, the way the products were kept and maintained was very unhygience. Brushes were not clean. The hairdresser was a total disappointment. After specifying that I did not want curls, she did curls on me - stating they’ll later soften up and open. It did not!!! The hairdresser was a terrible one, who was struggling to do even a basic blow dry properly! My disappointment was because - the kind of money she charges for normal makeup is huge and we do not mind paying it, but then expect same quality in return! I found this experience an extremely bad one and my money went down the drain. I had to spend 20 mins, changing hair and makeup done by them, before venturing out for the event. Whats worse is, when I tried to give Kajol this review personally on Whatsapp, she refused to believe and kept justifying her Team. It is only when I shared the pictures of makeup done by her team and then my final look, she started asking on exactly what corrections I did. When you charge a premium price , please deliver accordingly and not as per local beauty parlour standards! ( Even they are better ! )

I reached out to Kajol a couple months prior to the wedding however on the recommendation of a friend I went ahead and booked another artist. Due to the unprofessionalism of the artist, I had to get in touch with Kajol yet again who unfortunately was booked by then for another event. Kajol assured me that her teams competency was at par with her’s and arranged for a makeup trial for me. The results of the trial were so satisfying that I decided to get her team on board to curate looks for me as well as my mother for my haldi, sangeet, wedding and reception. Her team arrived on time for every single event be it day or night and worked until they perfected each look. I reached out to Kajol for my destination wedding. However I was expecting that she would be doing the makeup but since the wedding was outside Mumbai her assistant told me that she doesn't travel outside Mumbai and her makeup assistants would be doing the makeup. However she mentioned that Kajol would be creating the make up and hairstyle looks. (Please note for assistants the charges are less) Generally all the makeup artist do call you for a trail before the wedding, but she did not offer me trial. However I called her up and asked whether we need to do a trial, she then asked me to visit her at her office in Ghatkopar. Upon arrival I was surprised that she wasn't around and it was just her assistants there. The assistants did do just some basic eye-makeup hardly spending 10-15 mins. Since I have scanty hair I had mentioned to her 2-3 times that I need a hair trial at-least, but her assistants said that they will take care of the hair on the wedding day with hair products like Topik etc. I was really skeptical at that point whether I should go ahead with this or should I find myself another makeup artist. I really liked her instagram pictures and was really impressed with it, so I just went ahead with it not trusting my instinct. On the wedding day She sent her hair stylist and makeup artist. As expected hair artist did not carry any hair products like Topik etc. and neither did they carry the makeup light stand which usually every makeup artist carries with them. They has to cover scanty hai patched with eye shadow. It was very disappointing ever after paying so much if you don't get what you want. I only got to see my looks on my wedding day. Of the 3 looks I liked the weeding look the most. I wish had she told me of all these things earlier I would have considered some other artist. In this entire episode I spoke to Kajol only once for 5-10 mins, it was always her assistants on the call. Overall I felt it was a very unpleasant & unprofessional experience.

With Kajol, it was an experience, and not a task.... *LONG REVIEW ALERT* (Couldn’t stop myself from sharing it) My wedding was on March 15, 2020. And, the preparations obviously started few months before that. Ours was a south Indian wedding and me being from Delhi originally, haven’t got a chance to even attend one before my own. The wedding held in Mumbai and I did not know many people there to give me any suggestions. The look on your wedding day is the most important thing for a bride indeed. Since it was a south Indian wedding, the saree to be worn at the wedding was relatively easy task to narrow down at, and that brought all the stress over picking up the right make-up artist, and the accessories. I’m based out of Australia and arrived in Mumbai only a couple of weeks before the wedding day, so taking up trials from different MUAs was NOT an option for me. Me and my bestie had spent weeks on instagram following so many artists. Searching through wedmegood.com alike websites was not helpful to me as even though it does give you contacts to MUAs, dealing with them is usually not so good over whatsapp (that’s my personal opinion). I wanted to see their work first and get convinced before racking my brains with them and their constant follow-ups. Luckily our search paid off, and we landed on Kajol’s page. Her insta posts and makeover videos were exactly what I was looking for. The best thing I found about them were the videos showing bridal transformations. It gave me an idea about what she’s capable of. IT WAS EVIDENT THAT SHE KNOWS WHAT LOOK WOULD GO BEST FOR A FACE TYPE. So I researched more about her, and then found out how talented she is. Being a MUA is her passion, and I could see that. Fairly convinced and impressed, I contacted her. Believe me, it was the smoothest interaction I had with any other MUA. No tantrums, no over selling, she was all nice and helpful. Even before finalising her, she shared the contacts of few of her earlier Mumbai based brides, to get some help from them regarding the blouse and jewellery. Well, I took good 3 weeks before confirming her around 3 months prior to our wed, and I believe that was one of the best decision i made. After that, she suggested on having a video call with her to see my skin type, and thereafter guided me to follow a few pre bridal routines to keep my skin healthy. Again, I’ve heard so many people complaining about MUAs suggesting branded products, but she amazed me again here, by not mentioning any such things. All she asked me was easy to do at home, like cutting down on sugar, drinking more water, massaging the eyebrows, etc. For the remaining days before my wedding, she was in touch with me, reminding me to take care of myself, and answering all my concerns like a pro. On the wedding day, our ceremonies were to start at 9am, and she asked me to keep aside about 3-4 hrs for bridal makeup. I was a little laid back honestly, being tired from back to back functions on previous days, but she was both persistent and punctual, asked me to start getting ready at 4am. I was surprised when she got to my hotel at 3:50am, haha! Well thanks to her, I had enough time to get ready, and even do a little experimentation with my hairdo. Exactly as I expected, her makeup skills were amazing, and her assistant hair artist, did a fantastic job as well. Thanks to her, I had everything prepared and faced no last minute surprises. Her assistants also helped me change a saree later on, as a part of one of the rituals, and she did not charge me extra for that. Attaching a few photos for the glimpse. Just like any other girl I was very stressed for my bridal makeup as it is one thing that can make or break your entire wedding look. I live in Canada and for me to manage a makeup artist was very hard. I initially wanted Kajal to do my makeup for my big day but due to date issues I went ahead with a trial with Gurleen (Bhavna) and ended up booking her. I was extremely happy with the makeup and hair Bhavna was able to do. She was able to do all the hairstyles I wanted and that to perfectly. She was very cooperative and made sure the makeup look she gave me was something I was comfortable with. I had a junior makeup artist from Kajol’s team do my mom’s and sister’s makeup and hair at the wedding too. Her work was good too, only downside I noticed was that the junior makeup artist was using very average quality products.

I would highly recommend Kajol and her team to any bride getting married in India. I found Kajol through instagram and instantly fell in love with her work. From the moment I got in touch with her, Kajol was nothing but kind and helpful, and I could really tell that she genuinely cares for all of her clients. When I told her honestly that her prices were a bit too high for me, she told me that her partner would be able to create the same looks for me, but at a lower price. My makeup experience with Kajol was my first ever good makeup experience. She and her team took time to understand my skin type, my taste, my outfits for the event and then took me through the trial. Kajol and Gurleen (Kajol's colleague) are extremely professional. They took care of my needs and were patient & polite with me. It was a pleasure working with Kajol’s team from the time I hired them. I had booked Kajol’s team for my sides and me for all my pre-wedding and wedding functions. I had an inter-caste wedding consisting of Tamil and Gujarati look, and wanted to preferably hire the same artist for all the looks. It gets super confusing to go with one artist as there are way too many artists out there and they all seem to be doing a decent job. I found Kajol’s profile on WedMeGood and simply loved it, and instantly decided considering her. There was something about Kajol’s team which made her a clear winner for me. As I was abroad, there was no way I got the time to meet the MUAs in person. Kajol’s team understood that and behaved very professional and approachable. Kajol is friendly and honest, and you can easily build a rapport with her and feel like you are well attended and taken care of. I was impressed with her customer reviews, good quality and relevant pictures, professional social media presence, and her portfolio gave me a sense that she is very versatile as she has experiences with designing looks that cater to different cultures (Maharashtrian, Gujarati. South Indian, Christian, Bengali, etc.) and functions (traditional, western, indo-western, etc.). Kajol and her team have been super professional from the start, and very clear on the services that will be provided towards each look. Kajol answered all my questions very patiently although I troubled her millions of times! She keeps in touch all throughout the process as she understands how important it is to ensure that her brides are doing fine. She made me feel confident about the way I look, suggested tips on how I can prep my skin in little ways before the big day, and also helped me with contacts of other vendors that could help me in my functions. Although there was a time difference issue, Kajol was always available, even if she was in the middle of back to back engagements. She used good quality products that suited my sensitive skin, her team's work was flawless, and they were super confident with their job. Loud makeup generally doesn’t suit me, but I never faced that issue with Kajol’s team as their finishing is good and they avoid using products and styles that do not suit your skin. They are very versatile with every look (traditional or indo-western) and are careful on the kind of look they give you according to your age and skin. They ensured that my mom and sister also looked perfect in each function. Mili and Bhavna from Kajol’s team helped me with the south Indian puja look and Mehendi & Sangeet look; Kajol, Naina aunty and Rashi did a splendid job with my Wedding and Reception. My friends and relatives were very impressed with my look in each event. I felt that hiring Kajol for grooming me on the most important day of my life was a great decision! Please note: 1) Some artists provide rental jewelry on weddings, like maang tikka, necklace, etc. However, Kajol's team does not provide it as they solely concentrate only on your makeup, hairdo and draping, and leave the choices of your clothing and accessories on you. They provide hair accessories to suit with your attire and look. Kajol was very clear on this with me from the start, so I knew what I was signing up for and did not have to rush for anything in the last moment 2) I couldn't get a trial look as I had very little time before the marriage, and Kajol was completely tied up with the busy season bookings. She had told me well in advance that she generally doesn’t provide trial makeups (unless there is time during non-busy seasons, or if she needs some time with your skin, or other exceptions). She ensured that she is confident on the looks she will give me and as promised, she and her team did a splendid job in each look!! If trial is something very important to you, please communicate in advance I have recommended her to a couple of my contacts and they are already in the process of hiring her. Do consider her for your looks, as she can never go wrong, even if she or her team sees you for the first time in your wedding!

Browsing through kajol paswans work i decided to meet her for my bridal looks.I met kajol at her studio for my trial makeup.The trial was very basic where she did my eyes, they looked nice and so we decided to have her assistant gurleen (Rubal Kaur) on board for all my bridal looks. We met once again at kajols studio to decide on a look book, where i also shared the schedule of the events. We were having a destination wedding. After making sure that we have enough time between each event, Gurleen & Kajol advised me that make up won't take a lot of time. For the first event, which was Ganesh Puja, it was okay. However, the crisis only begun post very first event. My second look which was for my haldi, took so much time that all the events then after got delayed. When i tried to speak to her regarding the time management, her approach seemed rather strange.The hairstylist on board was barely any help as gurleen kept struggling to do my make up and get my hair styled by herself. We even told Gurleen that we'll complain and tell Kajol about the situation but seems like Kajol was aware of all this, because of the delay in finishing my looks, my photo shoots had to suffer. which eventually terribly ruined my mood and I could hardly enjoy my own wedding. Post the haldi disaster every other event followed was equally terrible. The make up for my pool party took 3 hours and the sangeet took took 4 hours. I lost it completely at my final bridal look which took 6 hours. And hence I didn’t have time to get my bridal portraits clicked. Also for every look my eye lashes would come off, like literally for each and every event. Also cordinating with the hair and make up team was an impossible task. Gurleen has refused to share her digits and the hair artists phone was forever out of reach. I had to constantly send some one across the reception to make calls to gurleen and get help to fix my lashes, hair or for the touch up. Meanwhile, my parents were annoyed with the whole situation. like what the heck? Her assistant was asleep during the first event! Can you believe that? After all the disasters, I tried to speak to kajol to reconsider her service fee since i wasnt happy with their team or the service. Kajol seemed extremely casual over my complaints and she just ignored everything i shared of my experience. i just wanted to highlight this little episode, which affected me so much. As i honestly and truly just wanted to enjoy my own wedding and care less about such little things. Her service was paid but she failed to deliver and what hurts more is that she did not seem to care about reflecting on how bad i felt about the whole process. i will never recommend her to any of you. There are way better artists out there than Gurleen and Kajol.

Kajol is a very good makeup artist. Doing a great professional makeup for brides. I selected her on wedmegood only. Being a South Indian bride, I was little hesitant for muhurtham makeover. But she did very well. I just adore her face makeover. She does the way we wish for. She gives a great face makeup. My suggestion is hair do alone can be improvised. I was recommended Kajol by a friend for my younger sisters’ wedding. I went ahead but was really apprehensive because I had not taken a trial. The most convincing part and the reason why I went ahead with Kajol was because of her warm voice over the phone call when I called her to ask her about her rates and availability. She was so friendly and reassuring. Now getting to the main poin, Kajol’s makeup—> was quick and fabulous! She reached my place sharp on time and within an hour she transformed me. I had a great experience working with Kajols team :) I am from Kerala and I married a Maharashtrian so the ceremony was done both ways. I had a 2 artists from her team fly down to do my makeup and draping. Until the main day, she was really friendly and approachable as I could tell her about the look I wanted and also about whatever I was worried about without any inhibitions .. I liked that she's open and cool about things. I married in a temple in the morning, and her partner Richa gave me a really beautiful look, working on tiny details till it was the way I wanted. My hairdo was beautiful too!!! Three looks were created, all the transitions were smooth and I felt so beautiful on my special day !! The only little thing I was not too pleased was in the South Indian style we wear a lot of gold jewelry which is usually stitched into the sari, here they didn't have that provision and it kept coming out as it was just held with safety pins. Also in the morning we were a little behind schedule when the makeup finished but luckily we left for the temple also later hence it didn't become a problem. I recently got married to a catholic man, and I'm Muslim so I had absolutely no idea how to pull off the look of a catholic bride. Luckily, I found Kajol off wedmegood, and she made the whole thing super easy and non stressful for me. The thing I appreciated most about her was that she was just really easygoing. She understood what I wanted perfectly well, and was on board with changing the look if I or my friends who were around didn't like it. Which didn't actually end up happening, because she made me look my best in one go! From my hair to my make up, everything looked wonderful and lasted nearly 10 hours in the gruelling Bombay weather! I got my makeup done by Kajol for a bridesmaid shoot of my friend's and let me tell you guys she is one make up artist who you can blindly trust. Some of the makeup artist can be really intimidating but Kajol is super friendly and understand your taste and personality. I had to review Kajol to let people know how amazing it's going to be to have her do your bridal make up!!! So I had participated in a contest with an online wedding portal, I won the contest and the bridesmaid photo shoot. So my bridesmaids and I were all geared up to make the shoot day a grand success. My biggest concern however was the makeup artist cause it was so so important for the make up to be on point for the shoot. The best thing about Kajol is that before she starts working on your face to create the magic, she will make you so so comfortable by talking to you, giving you a few quick beauty and skincare tips. I'm very cautious about the makeup that's used on my face, as I have a super sensitive skin but I was glad to see Kajol using all high end products like Mac, Urban Decay, Makeup Forever, Nars, etc. Most importantly, she used the exact shade of foundation for my skin, unlike other makeup artist who make you look white. She made my skin flawless without making it cakey. I personally prefer dewy makeup and that's exactly what Kajol did. I was very happy with the base. Coming to the eye makeup, she gave me a bronze smoky eye which went very well with my outfit. If you ask me what's the best I like about Kajol's makeup, it would be the eye makeup. She's just amazing with it. I had my very first experience with false lashes, and I was bit sceptical about it and thanks to Kajol for making me wear it. I could totally see the transformation with it. I am writing this review on my lovely sister's behalf! On one hand there was loads of excitement for younger sister shaadi and on the other hand so much preparation to do! We found Kajol through online research. Her reviews were amazing and her work has a smooth elegant finish. We shortlisted few other makeup artists. When we called her she was extremely polite and humble inspite of being such a renowned makeup artist. She answered our concerns very politely and gave us a lot of time. We demanded with lot of pictures and videos which she readily gave on whatsapp which built her trust.She practically did my entire family's makeup..I think around 5-6 of them...my mom, sister, cousin etc and every one looked different and drop dead gorgeous. It was a sheer coincidence that I decided to choose kajol for my bridal make up. I met her in the mumbai metro 2 years back while she was on her way back home from a bridal order. I am usually not the person to choose or do anything without reference, especially not for my own wedding, but I liked what I saw on her profile. When I called her, she was more than happy to do a trial session for me. She gave me a trial for a few looks and her hair assistant too gave her best suggestions. I remember sharing the trial make up photo with my cousin and she flipped by how much real it looked, just like it would on the occasion itself. It was too bridal to be true! I booked her for Sangeet and Pheras. Kajol gave me really distinguished looks for both the functions.
