Review of Anil Sahu – Wedding Planner (Varanasi) If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and competent wedding planner in Varanasi, I strongly urge you to stay far away from Anil Sahu. My experience with him was nothing short of a complete disaster. He presented himself as a seasoned wedding planner with years of experience and promised the world—lavish setups, unique decor themes, seamless coordination, and an unforgettable event. But what we got was a chaotic, mismanaged mess that turned what should have been the happiest occasion into a stressful nightmare. Firstly, Anil Sahu owns absolutely nothing of his own. Not a single piece of decor, furniture, sound system, lighting equipment, or even basic event supplies. Everything was borrowed, often at the last minute from other vendors, and usually of the poorest quality. He doesn’t even have a reliable team—he hires random workers on a daily basis who are clueless and untrained. The wedding decor was a huge letdown. What he showed us in photos and promised during our discussions was nowhere close to what he actually delivered. The mandap looked like it had been thrown together with leftover materials from another event. The flowers were wilted, the lights were flickering, and the seating arrangements were completely off from what was discussed. There was zero creativity or sense of aesthetic, and the entire venue looked dull and unimpressive. Not only did he fail to deliver on his promises, but he also constantly lied throughout the process. He kept making excuses for delays and mishaps, blaming other vendors, the weather, and even the guests. He refused to take any responsibility. At one point, he even disappeared for hours on the day of the wedding and couldn’t be reached while we were scrambling to fix the mess he left behind. To make matters worse, he overcharged us heavily for every little thing—things that we later found out were borrowed or second-hand and not worth even half the amount he claimed. He presented no proper bills or receipts and tried to manipulate us into paying more at the last moment by claiming there were “extra charges” he hadn’t mentioned earlier. In short, Anil Sahu is the biggest fraud in Varanasi’s wedding planning industry. He talks big but delivers nothing. He is unprofessional, dishonest, unprepared, and completely unreliable. If you value your money, your peace of mind, and your special day, do NOT hire this man or trust him with any event. I regret the day I ever contacted him, and I’m writing this to warn others so they don’t go through the same traumatic experience. Varanasi deserves better than him.
