A 100-Carat Emerald Necklace, Gucci Haldi, & Chanel Sangeet For This Stunning Clifftop Wedding!

One Instagram follow. One bold DM. And suddenly we have a wedding that looks like the editorial shoot of a magazine, feels like a vacation and delivers theme after theme like it’s nobody’s business. Pearl and Milan didn’t just plan events; they built an entire world. From a Gucci-Flora Haldi to a Chanel-coded Sangeet and a bride who stunned everyone in a dramatic 100-carat emerald necklace, every moment was a flex in style and unforgettable storytelling. If you're ready for coastal sunsets and couture looks welcome to Pearl and Milan’s love story. This wedding is about to live rent-free in your head!
Meet Pearl & Milan

Pearl and I only had one mutual friend on Instagram, and she happened to post a birthday story for her. I remember thinking, she’s the most beautiful person - I need to get to know her. After some thought, I realized our paths might never cross if I didn’t make the first move. So, I did what anyone would do: I followed her. Luckily, I got a follow back.
Two months later, I finally worked up the courage to swipe up on one of her workout stories and said, ‘Nice home gym.’ It was simple, but it was enough. Shortly after, we went on our first date - and after that night, we both knew this was it.
Pearl says “It was supposed to be just a dinner date, but a couple of hours together didn’t feel like enough. So, Milan invited me to join him and his friends afterwards. That’s how I ended up meeting 30 of his friends on our first date - you can imagine that was quite overwhelming!” Milan says “Yeah, I probably shouldn’t have done that. Looking back, it wasn’t my best move, but hey, it worked!”
Grah Shanti and Mameru

For the Grah Shanti and Mameru ceremonies, we opted for minimal decor. I asked DHD to reflect the early morning sunrise in the colour palette, so we chose soft shades of orange, yellow, and ivory. They artfully arranged the flowers to create their own sunrise, bathing the stage in warm glow - subtle, elegant, and perfectly in tune with the nature of the morning rituals.
For this ceremony, I leaned into tradition while keeping the look intimate. I wore polki earrings and a haathphool borrowed from my mom—pieces she had worn at my engagement, designed by our Cohinoor team especially for her. It felt deeply symbolic to start my wedding celebrations with jewelry tied to her and to my engagement.
Welcome Party

For our welcome party, we embraced a Louis Vuitton California Dream theme. A custom bar read California Dreaming, while custom life-size surfboards doubled as drink menus and welcome signs. To welcome guests, we even had two entertainers dressed like surfers greeting them and offering drinks. This decor felt fun, fresh, and completely unlike any welcome party I’d ever seen.
For the welcome party jewelry, I drew inspiration from the landscapes around and whimsical prints on the outfits, creating large flower earring tops to match the 3D motif on my 2-piece set. I layered diamond bracelets and a rotating rainbow ring, adding playful color to enhance with my Gauri & Nainika look.
Mehendi & Guests Welcome

Haldi

The Haldi drew inspiration from Gucci Flora. The pinks, yellows, and floral and tiger print perfectly complemented the location, and our custom Gucci bazaar was a hit among guests. Jennifer custom-designed prints across umbrellas, tables, and menu cards to tie everything together.
For Haldi, inspired by peacocks - symbols of beauty and grace - I worked with Anand Shah to create a full gold peacock set: earrings, necklace, ring, bracelet, and maatha patti. The greens and blues within the peacock motif and the vintage gold shade of the peacock feathers hanging off the pearl choker added dimension and contrast to an all-pink outfit.
Sangeet

For the Sangeet, I envisioned a Chanel Dripping in Pearls vibe - timeless elegance with a modern twist. This event felt like it was meant for me, Pearls for Pearl all the vendors joked! Unlike traditional Sangeets brimming with vibrant colours, we opted for whites and soft pinks - a choice that our families wasn’t sure about but ultimately left them in awe.
For the “Dripping in Pearls” Sangeet, I drew inspiration from the sea and the venue. I wore a Manish Malhotra all-pearls, fish-cut lehenga, and worked with my design team to create wave-inspired earrings and a handpiece. Blue sapphires within the pieces echoed the ocean’s movement and complemented the pearl motif, making a bold, unconventional statement that perfectly aligned with the event theme and outfit.
Wedding

For the mandap, I wanted grandeur without overshadowing the natural surroundings. DHD created a built a gigantic mandap on the cliffside, adorned with extra-tall arrangements of fresh red and maroon roses, perfectly complementing my Sabyasachi lehenga. Adding to the magic, a group of harpists adorned with fresh rose wings played Bollywood tunes, creating an immersive, fairytale-like entrance!
For the wedding, I paired my Sabyasachi maroon velvet lehenga with a polki diamond choker layered with a drop pendant necklace, custom earrings, and a maatha patti from Raniwala, Jaipur. The design drew inspiration from royal Indian bridal traditions while incorporating modern sensibilities. I chose Raniwala, a longstanding and respected name in polki jewelry. This piece feels timeless—something I can cherish for years and, hopefully, something our children will also be able to style and enjoy.
Wedding Dinner

The wedding dinner embodied a Cartier Love Affair. Everything was Cartier red: grazing tables dotted with red roses and tall candles, red fruits like strawberries, cherries, pomegranates, and grapes, and violinists in flowing red gowns standing atop Roman columns. Jennifer designed menu cards inspired by the Cartier box. One guest said, “It felt like walking into a Cartier box.”
Reception

Finally, for the reception in Atlanta the following weekend, I worked with Weddings in Style, an Atlanta-based decor team, to create an all-candlelit ambiance. I told her the theme was “Parisian elegance.” I wanted the final celebration to feel timeless and magical. They used over 4,000 candles to illuminate the space, creating a breathtaking atmosphere for our 700+ guests.
For the final reception, I wore a Rahul Mishra silver lehenga and bralette with a tassel crop jacket, paired with a dramatic 100-carat emerald necklace! It took us months to find the perfect Colombian emeralds, especially given the large size of the stones we needed. Because the outfit and decor were largely monotoned, I wanted the jewellery to provide a striking pop of colour!
Both of our upbringings emphasised hospitality, so guests’ comfort was always a priority. Even in details like outfit guides and colour palettes, I chose combinations that felt effortless and fun rather than stressful. I wanted our guests to feel included, inspired, and at ease.
I didn’t want the outfits to just follow trends; I wanted them to reflect emotion, tradition, and personality. When it came to designers, I was very intentional. I chose Sabyasachi for the wedding because his pieces feel timeless and iconic. Also, I knew I wanted to wear Indian designers for every look because of their unmatched craftsmanship and generational skills. Beyond personal style, I wanted to showcase my deep appreciation for Indian design and honour my roots. Jewellery was central to my vision for each curated look—it wasn’t just about accessorising, but about storytelling. I wanted each piece to reflect a deeper story and significance.
About The Wedding
We knew we wanted to get married in the U.S. so that most of our loved ones could attend. I had always envisioned hosting the majority of our events outdoors, so finding a location with reliable weather was crucial. For the longest time, my heart was set on Arizona for its sunny skies and stunning natural landscapes. Yet, none of the venues we visited there felt quite right.
Then, our event planner suggested we check out the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in California. She sent us videos from her visit, and we instantly fell in love with the majestic sunsets and panoramic views. From every corner, the views were mesmerizing. It felt serene, almost as if time stopped whenever Milan and I were on the property. As lovers of travel, it reminded us of the most beautiful aspects of Santorini, Amalfi Coast, and other dream destinations - combining elegance, romance, and a sense of timeless beauty in one perfect place.
I had a clear vision for my wedding mood board. I wanted the celebration to feel like an experience unlike anything our families or guests had ever known - a true escape where every moment reflected who we are, what we love, and what we value. More than just a wedding, I envisioned it as a shared vacation with all our loved ones.
