#FirstPerson: Here Is My Experience Of Getting My Gown Personally Customised By Gaurav Gupta

BY Sakshi | 01 May, 2019 | 2165 views | 2 min read

So a lot of brides are choosing to get their bridal outfits personally customised by big designers- and one such name that pops on that list is designer Gaurav Gupta★ 4.8 . Better known for his cocktail gowns and lehenga gowns, his creations are unique and offbeat. Real Bride Priyanka got her reception gown personally customised by the designer as per her liking, and here is what her experience was like! If you're considering the same thing, then here's what to know! Over to Priyanka now, who tells us all about it.

One of my friends is a stylist and recommended looking at his designs. He had some exquisite gowns and I could immediately imagine myself wearing one for our reception! His designs were beautiful but I had something special in mind. Lucky for me, he agreed to sit down with me and design it just how I dreamt it. I wanted a midnight blue mermaid gown with delicate embellishments, an asymmetric sculpted neckline and long trail. Gaurav Gupta drew the sketch while I was describing it and I couldn’t have been happier!

The experience was smooth and flawless. It takes about 3 months or more to get the gown ready. So we contacted their staff who were friendly and very knowledgeable. They helped us get an appointment. I tried some gowns at the store in Kala Ghoda and then discussed what I would like. Right then and there, we finalized the color, design and everything.

I checked his designs online and on social media and then we contacted them few months before we planned out India trip. We visited the store in August 2017 and the wedding was in November 2017. We picked up the gown few days prior to the wedding when we came back to India.

There is a premium charge for customization. I am not sure if customization is an option for everyone or not, but for me, it was totally worth it!
