This Staycation Wedding At Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa Was On Fleek!

BY Sakshi | 10 Dec, 2021 | 74402 views | 5 min read

Now this was a wedding we wish we were a part of! Just one look at the fresh photos and the gorgeous property where this was held makes us want to be there! Mumbai-based Rachel and Sagar chose the stunning Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar Resort & Spa to host their wedding, which they said felt like a home away from home, easily drivable for them and their guests! Nestled in greenery, surrounded by 27 acres of pristine evergreen forest in Western Ghats with a backdrop of the hills and a glorious view of the valley, the couple had fallen in love with the venue on one of their holidays here. So this became an obvious choice for them for their dream wedding by the hills!

From a pretty sophisticated welcome dinner to a crazy silent disco in pyjamas, the wedding had a lot of cute ideas and eye catching decor. Each and every function was planned beautifully by The Doli Diary★ 5 , and we loved the bride's effortlessly elegant style for every event too. Take a look at this gorgeous wedding, which definitely ranks pretty high in our inspiration meter!

Meet Rachel and Sagar

The couple have a lockdown love story! They crossed paths in the middle fo the lockdown, and were introduced to each other by family friends. While they couldn't really go out on dates thanks to the lockdown restrictions, it was coffee dates and car drives that helped them strengthen their bond and fall madly in love!

About The Wedding:

What suited the couple best was a fun and classic “big fat Indian wedding”, but with multiple twists and added elements of playfulness along the way. Every traditional aspect was redesigned to be or engaging and amusing. Starting the range from a carnival themed first day that imbibed a Caribbean picnic and playground elements to interesting knick-knacks like  “Pluck and play flower packets” were used in the Haldi event to bring everything to life in the most amusing way. Talking about “hatke”, the Baraat was to be an eye-catcher itself- as alongside the traditional groom on a horse event happened alongside our bride entering in her Ferrari.
The wedding was an affair to steal hearts as before the Majestic mandap, we had planned the couple’s beloved dog’s (whiskey) entry before the bride’s which has not stopped being an instagram favourite.
All in all, the vision was to make everyone have the most fun, traditional yet unique big fat Indian wedding as possible with its individual events standing out, and make this as close to home as possible for the couple.

Vendor Reviews

Venue

We’d gone to Le Meridien Mahableshwar for a holiday earlier. So when it came to narrowing down the options we thought would be ideal for our wedding, this was in the top 3. During COVID, it turned out to be the only place most of our family members were comfortable with - since it was drivable from Mumbai. When we got there to have a final look before we decide we could actually visualise we’d want which function where. It turned out to be just perfect. We loved the idea of celebrating our special day in the hills, in the midst of so much of greenery. The staff there was so helpful and cooperative. Right from recce nights to the day of the wedding. They helped our wedding planning team with the check-ins and check-outs for a seamless experience for example. Each and every staff member of Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar seemed to be so involved in the wedding. On the day of the events we were so perplexed of how beautiful this place could look - way beyond our imagination. Our guests too, were really happy with the rooms, the service and of how accommodating the Le Meridien Mahableshwar team was! We couldn’t have it any other way.

Wedding Planning

Our wedding planners- The Doli Diary, in the end became a family to us. Extremely warm yet professional in their approach, we never faced a single inconvenience during our time with them. The vendor team which they put together- was extremely cooperative as well. If we  wanted to change some aspects like flowers or decor elements, they were always happy to do so and get what was wanted no matter how close to the deadline. It was an experience like never before, and I am so happy to have done my wedding through them.
