BY Anupriya | 12 Jun, 2020 | 9910 views | 6 min read

With keen thought put into every little and big detail, featuring Anj & Ravi’s wedding was a ‘no brainer’. The duo hosted not one, not two, but as many as six wedding functions, and it’s safe to say that each one had something unique to offer. Be it their dreamy pheras against a surreal backdrop, the enchanting Disney-themed Sangeet or the black tie reception boasting of sweet surprises, everything kept us hooked for long hours. And not to forget Anj and Ravi’s sartorial choices that added the perfect finishing touches to their fairytale moments captured by the ace teams of FotoConto★ 3.9 & Magic Motion Media★ 4.6 . Dive in to experience this magic created & styled by A Klass Apart & The A-Cube Project★ 4.8

Disclaimer: This wedding is brimming with fancy outfits & decor. You might get a mini aww-attack after every scroll, so make sure you’re prepared for this exciting ride!

Meet Anj & Ravi

We met at university at Kings College London. We were best friends for 2 years before we started going out in 2014, and got married in 2020.  I am a dentist and a fashion blogger and Ravi is a self-employed trader.

The Mehendi

The first event was our welcome party and Mehendi. We wanted a super chilled vibe so went for a Marrakesh theme with really chilled Arabic music as both of us love it! We had a perfume bar for guests to make their own scents as well as a mini souk with a bangle maker and parrot fortune teller which people loved! It felt like we were transported to Marrakesh for the evening and everyone loved it!

The Puja & Haldi

The next morning, we had our Ganesh Puja followed by Haldi. We went for light and bright colours in terms of décor. As it was a morning puja, we thought it would be nice to use bright pinks and yellows, and embrace the fact we were in Rajasthan.

The Wedding

That afternoon we had our wedding ceremony on their main terrace in front of the pool and surrounded by such a beautiful view. I wore a Manish Malhotra lengha and Ravi opted for a custom made Varun Bahl sherwani. We went for a light and floral mandap with pink, peach and ivory and beautiful hanging wisteria.

When Ravi and I saw each other at the Mandap, it was a truly magical and emotional moment. It felt surreal but also so right, and so special in such a lovely location, the mountains behind us and the infinity pool next to us.

The Sangeet

Our Sangeet was that evening, and we went for an magical enchanted forest theme.  This was the one theme I knew before the wedding that I wanted to do for one of the events. Ravi and I, both LOVE Disney, we have been there 8 times, and so we wanted to incorporate a magical theme around it for the Sangeet. The challenge was trying to do this in a way that was kept classy and elegant! This was achieved fantastically by Ambika and her team who got the décor so spot on with the retro clocks, books and candles. All of our guests raved about the décor on this evening, we had magical cocktails (e.g. popping candy, candyfloss cocktails) by The Wedding Bartenders, a botanical gin bar and it felt like a fairytale!

We incorporated Disney and fairytale creatures in our table names, which were beautifully sketched by Hiral Mehta, who Divya found and contacted, and were hung so beautifully from the long table arrangements.

The Reception

As our finale to the wedding festivities we had a gorgeous black tie reception. For this theme, we wanted something very formal and very simple. We had a lovely long drinks reception with music by Saxophonist Ryan Sadri who was amazing and created such a classy and memorable ambience, before all the guests moved upstairs for the main event.Divya and Ambika again worked with us to give us our dream decor. For this function, we went for a white and mirrored theme, with mirrored table tops and gorgeous floral centre pieces, candles and fairylights. It was a huge play on lighting and this event was just the perfect way to end our wedding.

I opted for a silver Manish Malhotra gown and Ravi wore a Hugo Boss Grey Velvet Tux Jacket. This was definitely our most formal event, and Ravi surprised everyone by playing the piano which was a lot of people's favorite highlight from the wedding, including my own!

Overall, the wedding exceeded all of our expectations and our guests were blown away with the décor, the intimacy and the fun they had!

From the Bride

Proposal Story:

It was a complete surprise! We had never even spoken about anything to do with marriage even though we always knew it would be each other. I was on a girls’ holiday in Mykonos and he flew out and surprised me and proposed. I have never been so speechless!

Venue: Fateh Garh, Udaipur
The wedding venue was Fateh Garh in Udaipur. We wanted to get married somewhere traditional and at an elevation to get beautiful views and photos, especially as I blog @anjandpri so wanted some great photos to share also. I told our wedding planner Divya that I wanted something epic, and Fateh Garh ticked all the boxes as it is a gorgeous, intimate heritage property with panoramic views all around.
