A Pretty Pune Wedding With A Bride In Yellow

BY Aakanksha | 28 Sep, 2019 | 2372 views | 5 min read

Yellow bridal lehengas are as stunning as they are offbeat and brides who opt for something so unique clearly know exactly what they are looking for! Saumya was one such bride. Not only was her bridal lehenga gorgeous, even the golden sharara she wore for her mehendi shines throughout! The We Do Moments captured this ethereal wedding an eye-catching manner.

Meet Saumya & Rutunjay

The Mehendi

The Wedding

From The Bride:

Since the beginning I was very clear about the kind of wedding I wanted. It had to be a small, cosy and intimate affair. The comfort of guests was obviously a priority, but for both Rutunjay and myself, enjoying our own wedding was the key. We kept a very small guest list of 140 for the wedding and took all of them out of Mumbai so that every single person gets to relax and celebrate over the weekend. Our events were also timed perfectly so that nothing is hectic for anybody. No morning wedding for us since the cocktails were on the previous night! Like a true Bollywood fan, we also had a bride side vs the groom side cricket match. Everyone cheated left right and centre and it was basically a riot. Everyone enjoyed this event so much and it just brings people together at another level.

Vendor Reviews:

Courtyard by Marriott, Chakan outside Pune. The food was to die for and all the guests were eating for three days straight! The service was amazing and there was nothing to be worried about. For the reception we chose Aqaba in Mumbai. The venue is beautiful and the food is to die for! The guests loved the place, the food and the decor so much!

Makeover by Shachi Singh. She was the MOST AMAZING make up artist ever. I found her on WedMeGood and trust me, with artists like her a bride needs to worry about nothing. She is professional, creative and we connected immediately on our styles.

The WeDoMoments by Meenakshi Jain. Honestly we got so lucky with Meenakshi. Rutunjay's uncle introduced us to her and I am sure the reason why we still think about the wedding and smile is because we have the most beautiful pictures of that weekend. She is a one woman army And if you care about emotions and depth in your pictures, you need to have Meenakshi as your photographer.

The decor was done by this wedding planner called Preet Luxury Weddings. We faced a lot of problems with them but on the final day everything worked out. My advice to all brides and grooms would be to make sure you have one family member or friend who is completely in charge of the decor on your wedding day and knows what you have asked for. This makes sure the wedding planner is indeed executing your plan :)

My mehendi sharara and wedding lehenga was made by Falguni Bhuta who is an expert in bridal outfits. She understood what I wanted, which is a yellow lehenga! At all times the idea was to keep outfits reusable and I am so happy I chose her! My cocktail gown was from Stitch Nine which is a boutique in Bandra. They are experts in cocktail gowns and since the theme for the cocktails was shimmer, Yashna from Stitch Nine knew exactly what would work. We discussed my idea once and I got what I wanted and so much more! My reception sari was a beautiful pink silk sari from a store in Ville Parle. The idea was to keep things extremely simple and not too over the top.

My best friend Ravina made my mehendi. She is actually an artist who is famous for wall art. But she is so good that she can even make bridal mehendis! All the guests went fully crazy cause my mehendi was so so beautiful and personal.

Rutunjay’s wedding and reception sherwanis were from Manyavar. We loved the variety they gave. His cocktail suit was from Raymond and his mehendi and haldi kurtas were from Fab India!

We designed a website on Zola.com and didn’t print any invitations. We wanted to save paper and make sure all the wedding related information was at one place, which is the website. It was new for the families but they loved the idea and how personal the website was.
