Lucky enough to meet once before the world shut global borders down, seems like Shincy and Joseph were meant to be! Their cross-continent connection culminated with a very elegant wedding recently. Shincy and Joseph's wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore was grand and luxurious, yet with an intimate vibe. We loved the garden-themed decor which looked beautiful even in an indoor setting, and are in absolute awe of this beautiful union shot beautifully by 1plus1 Studio .
Meet Shincy and Joseph
We first met online through our parents. Even though we felt an immediate connection, it was hard to meet in person since I was in Philadelphia and Joseph was in Bangalore. Luckily, the universe was on our side and Joseph and I were able to meet in San Francisco just two weeks before the world went into lockdown!

From The Bride:
Since our wedding was the first major event most of our guests attended post lockdown, we really wanted it to be a celebration of not only love but of life. Due to travel restrictions our families could not meet before the wedding. So it was really important for us to throw a fun event where everyone could just let their hair down and have a blast. We honored our Indian Christian roots by incorporating traditional elements in a contemporary setting. It was a weekend filled with a lot of love and gratitude. Our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined!

Reception: The Ritz-Carlton Bangalore - The management at the Ritz worked with us to overcome possible event delays and guests restrictions. Chef Sandeep was very helpful in curating the menu to our specific needs.
Photography
From the minute we met Manvi and the 1Plus1 Team via Skype we knew that they were it for us. We felt we could trust them to capture not only look of the event but the feel as well. They are incredibly talented and make you feel so at ease even when you're completely out of your comfort zone. By the end of the weekend they became a part of our family and everyone absolutely loved working with them!
Wedding Planning
Planning a wedding can be stressful on its own. But planning a wedding in India, in the middle of a pandemic, with me in the US and Joseph in the UK, felt near impossible. Cue Divya at DivyaVithika Wedding Planners! I really don’t think we could have pulled all of this off without her. Even though we held countless 3-way video calls discussing every detail, I was still nervous about how everything would be in person. But once I landed in Bangalore, I could see that Divya had taken my abstract ideas and turned them into a beautiful reality. She was totally accessible and available to us and went out of her way to make sure everything was to our standards. Every vendor we used was through her recommendation and they were all a great fit.
Decor
We wanted the engagement party to be a relaxed event so we decided on a Mela theme filled with fun table games and tambola. We went with lavender and pastel colors to highlight the airy laid back feel of our outdoor party. I only had one note for Divya when it came to the wedding/reception decor…I wanted it to feel like a garden. She really made my dream come true. The star of the show was the custom made floral LOVE statue which was a nod to my hometown of Philadelphia!
Groomwear
Custom Tuxedo by Lokessh Ahuja Lokessh Ahuja: (From The Groom) Our wedding planner (Divya) recommended Lokessh for my tuxedo. Coming from the UK a few weeks before the wedding, I wasn’t very confident of the fit and whether it would be ready in time for the wedding. I visited Lokessh at his boutique and I was super impressed by his professionalism. Not only did Lokessh deliver the tuxedo in a weeks time, but as you can see from the pictures, the overall fit was exceptional - surely on par with the tuxedos I tried on in London!
Invitations
GlitterKode custom designed our beautiful invitations. Ayesha and her team kept the theme consistent and seamless throughout our entire event. We especially loved the personalized wax seals they created for our invites! The whole process was very collaborative and they were great with communication even across 3 time zones. They packaged and delivered our invites to US in a matter of a few weeks.
