Whether it's a summer wedding or a winter one, there is one trend that has slowly become a staple. This small trend and idea called "The Relief Station" is nothing but a place where guests go to find something they need or something that adds to the fun - a small help station if you want to be specific. These small stations have everything from giveaways to favours to tiny knick-knacks to even food. Know all about this micro-trend here.
What exactly is a Relief Station?
It is the cozy spot at a wedding that contains cold towels, face mists, hand fans and mosquito repellent for tired guests. This one is such a small detail but it can really make your guests feel at home. You can make it grander by adding a foot massage or a make your own smoothie station.

What can I have in a basic Relief Station? Well, start with the simple stuff - a nice hand fan, a sweet packet of candies, maybe just a few flowers for young ladies and the wedding sheet. Look at it as a reception desk where people who need something just go to.Photo Courtesy: www.devikanarainblog/tumblr.com; Stories By Joseph Radhik
Can we divide it into summer and winter weddings? Yes, of course. You can make the Relief Station anything you want it to be. Summer weddings can have sunnies, hand fans, water bottles, juice packets, sunscreen and face mists. Winter weddings can have light shawls, bug spray, mosquito repellants and tiny packets of moisturising cream. You can also divide things according to beach weddings - flip flops and sunscreens. Desert weddings - stoles and coconut water. Pool party - floaties and towels. There can be a kiddie station too with bubbles and toys.Picture Courtesy: The Wedding Salad ; Style Me Pretty; RC Events
Can we add food and drinks into this mix? Yes of course, our favourites are fruit-infused waters, smoothies, juices and coconut water. Add a few alcoholic drinks too into the mix. Food can be light and interesting, something people can carry like candy, peanuts, popcorn and maybe some farzaan. A candy station or a chaat station is nice too.
