Bridal Trends We Spotted At The India Couture Week 2023

There was a lot of noise that the 2023 edition of the FDCI India Couture Week made, and most of it was thanks to the plethora of B-town sweethearts who walked the ramp. What stood out the most was the similarity in the showstopper outfits this year, with 5 designers opting for the bustier-high slit mermaid skirts for their muses. Here's what all the trends we loved at the Couture Week- so brides-to-be, take notes!

5 Designers, 1 Silhouette? The mermaid slit silhouette was everywhere this time, and looks like this might be the next big trend for brides- works for just about any function especially the Sangeet and the Reception!
The brighter, the better!
Bright colours like lime green and electric blue were spotted on the runway, with Gaurav Gupta, Tarun Tahiliani and Isha J showing how it's done! Eye-grabbing colours and silhouettes were all over, channeling modern princess vibes! A very gorg pick for the sangeet!
Jackets and Capes With Lehengas Making A Comeback
Aditi Rao Hydari oozed opulence in a beautiful handcrafted zardozi work jacket and chikankari lehenga by Ritu Kumar, as did Shraddha Kapoor for Rahul Mishra. Probably two of our fave pieces for brides worn by a celeb this year! We also loved Athiya Shetty channelling her inner supermodel in this stunner by Anamika Khanna. JJ Vallaya also had embroidered jackets- love love love!

Exaggerated and voluminous sleeves
Gaurav Gupta and Falguni Shane showed us some uber stylish way to do sleeves- with drama and volume being the highlight! Whether it is for lehengas or gowns- works either way!
Bows are big now!
We saw bows in a lot of shows, most prominently in Rahul Mishra and FSP's shows, and of course- expect bows to be in fashion for brides!
This new way of contrasting the dupatta
Loved this style for the dupatta- can be a very amazing trend for 2023 brides!
Muted Glam is here to stay!
Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapoor turned showstoppers for Shantanu & Nikhil, and the nude lehenga with a fuss-free dupatta is an apt choice for the Sangeet or Reception! We also loved this dreamy white lehenga by Falguni Shane Peacock.
Lungi-pants for grooms?
Ranbir Kapoor made a rare appearance on the runway in a modern outfit that could deffo work for grooms in 2023- the skirt-style silhouette is edgy AF!
Androgynous fusion looks for women
Kunal Rawal showed us some interesting androgynous fusion outfits, that are definitely making some noise!
Gowns that are gowning hard!
Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna and Rimzim Dadu showcased some stunning gowns that are perfect for modern brides in 2023- playing around with fabrics and silhouettes that are STUNNING!
