#Hairstyles: Creative Buns on Bollywood Celebs for your wedding day!

BY The WMG Bride | 17 Mar, 2016 | 21674 views | 3 min read

Why go for the same old boring bridal bun hidden under a dupatta that Indian women have been getting for ages and ages now? New age brides are now kicking things up a notch, either not choosing to take a dupatta on the head, taking it differently or getting trendy buns with dupattas so light that it looks fresh and beautiful, and that too minus the headache!

When it comes to the perfect updo for your wedding functions, where can you find better inspiration than Bollywood? Our B-town divas have become more experimental with fashion off-late, playing around with updos that are creative and gorgeous. WMG has picked out some which you can consider for your bridal updo!

Braided Bun

This bun is perfect for the offbeat bride, with two braids going down on either side, and a low bun at the bottom. This works best for a slim face shape.

Traditional Bun With Volume in the front

This one is beautiful, especially for a South Indian bride. A typical bun tweaked with a lot of volume in the front - and the flowers around it really makes it pretty! If you have a wide face, the height at the top will balance it out.

Rolled Up Bun

A bun with pinned up curls and volume, this one will look amazing with hair that has highlights!

Bun with Twisted Knots

Deepika's bun is modern, elegant and chic. Perfect for the new age bride.

Twisty Bun

This braided updo is interesting and leaves enough room for your matha-patti or maangtikka. Plus, it's not as flat as a regular bun with volume on both sides!

Messy Bun

For a beach wedding, or your Sangeet ceremony, this bun is perfect. It's soft, wispy and will look great on almost all face types.

Side-Swept Bun

This side bun with a side-swept fringe is a good option for brides looking to cover their foreheads or cut down the roundness of the face. A jhoomer or a maang-tikka will also look super elegant with this updo. These work best on angular faces - if you have a squarish face, this is the bun to choose.

Scrunched Up Bun

Sonam Kapoor sure gives us some serious bun-spiration! Looks like a combination of a lot of techniques, but looks amazing! Looks great on oval and small faces.

Retro Bun

Another beautiful side-swept updo with old Hollywood waves and flowers - this one is so retro and 70s. Another style great for wide or angular faces.

Multiple Strand Bun

This one takes all those flyways into consideration and makes sure the bun stays tight and effortless. Plus, we love the volume it gives to fine hair.

Messy High Bun

Multiple braids and multiple twists and turns make this bun a must-do in every bride's beauty handbook. Spray with a good shine spray to keep it in place and add flowers to top it up!

The High-Low Bun

A bun that doesn't look like a bun! Super pretty and an elegant bun which is longer and more voluminous from the top and back!

Middle-Parting Bun

A middle parting bun is perhaps the simplest but it comes with its own charm. Add roses around it and you look like a Spanish diva.
