Need Inspiration For The Wedding Season? Sonam's PRDP Looks Might Just Help!

BY The WMG Bride | 10 Nov, 2015 | 16854 views | 5 min read

If she’s dressing like this during the promotions of her upcoming movie, we can only imagine how she slays the world when the movie finally hits the silver screen. Sonam Kapoor never fails to awe us. Whether it’s her chic Hollywood style, or classic, demure Bollywood avatars, we’re always left questioning ourselves, “can she top that?”. And, boy, does she! Her outfits from Prem Ratan Dhan Payo promotions give us ample inspiration this wedding season to make wise choices – whether for a sangeet, a mehendi, an engagement ceremony, or even a wedding (If you wanna go subtle that is), Sonam’s PRDP style is where our heart is at. Take a look - we even decided on whether these looks work for a mehendi, sangeet, cocktails or a wedding. #1. In Anamika Khanna: Reception Look AnamikaKhanna Love, love, love the skirt! An exquisite pick for your engagement ceremony (or even your wedding; look at the gorgeous embroidery on the thick border!), this lehenga is extremely vibrant, courtesy the eccentric colour and make. Kinda reminds us of Kangana's parrot green lehenga in Tanu Weds Manu, doesn't it? WMG tip: Swap the full-sleeved top for a choli in orange or gold to make for an ideal wedding attire! #2: In Vineet Rahul: Sangeet Look Vineet Rahul Don’t want to take the bling route at a friend’s shaadi? This one makes for a beautiful choice, with its village embroidery and rich fabric that lends a timeless, elegant feel to Sonam’s look. WMG tip: Throw in an array of bangles and a kundan mang tikka to make the lehenga all the more wedding-appropriate! #3: In Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla: Wedding Look AJSK If you fancy full-fledged printed ghaghras with striking mirror work, you’ll love Sonam’s representation of this AJSK number. Lending just the right amount of bling against the larger-than-life print of the dupatta and ghaghra, this might easily be one of her best looks from the PRDP promotions. WMG tip: To emanate a more wedding-y feel, drape the dupatta over your head and throw in a borla as a hair accessory! #4: In Anju Modi: Wedding Look Anju Modi   Breezy, easy-to-carry, and downright fun, this Anju Modi number is such a graceful pick for your miscellaneous day functions. Extra points for that streak of teal on the dupatta that blends beautifully with the cream and pink on the outfit! WMG tip: Leave your hair open in soft waves to exude a youthful, effortless feel, and drape the dupatta on just one side! #5: In Rohit Bal: Youngsters Party Rohit Bal A) Floored by that hairdo! B) It’s safe to say that Sonam rocks full sleeves like no other, and this demure Rohit Bal creation is every bit of a contemporary choice this festive season! We love how sometimes, you don’t really need a pop of colour to bring out an outfit. Let the whites shine, let the whites shine! WMG tip: When wearing something like this for a wedding function, add a few more jewellery pieces than Sonam did, as the neutral hue alone could really bring the look down. #6: In Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla: Mehendi Look AJSK2 In yet another AJSK sighting, Sonam took to wearing a sleeveless printed suit, looking ever-so-ecstatic! Well, we wouldn’t have it otherwise, given how cheerful and vibrant the suit is. Perfect for your day-time shenanigans, this suit is an awesome pick to kickstart the wedding festivities. WMG tip: Add in some blingy bangles and jhumkas or chandbali earrings to accessorise the suit in sync with the wedding. #7: In Rahul Mishra: Cocktails Look RahulMishra There’s pastels, and then there’s this! Trust Sonam to wear a friggin’ kurta wrap over a saree, and somehow, still work it! If we wanted to make sure all eyes are on us without even trying, we’d totally wear this outfit to a friend’s engagement ceremony! WMG tip: Tie a wrap a little more loosely than Sonam did, and let the saree be a bit more visible. You don’t want to look like you’re wearing a trench coat over your saree! #8: In Gaurang Shah: Shaadi Look Gaurang That’s one floor-length Anarkali we really don’t mind investing in! Amidst a thousand sightings of the net-laden, sequin-bordered anarkalis donned by every other B-town starlet, this one gets 10 on 10 for the sheer freshness of it! The addition of kanjeevaram ensures pure vivacity, while the dupatta lends the perfect contrast. WMG tip: While this one makes for a great pick for your friend’s wedding, tie your hair into a middle-parting bun so as to avoid any clash with the heavy dupatta. #9: In Shantanu and Nikhil: Sangeet Look SN Beige FTW, right? Now, before we OD on Sonam’s full-sleeve fixation, allow us to admire the make of this understated Shantanu and Nikhil number, and Sonam for carrying it with sheer ferociousness. We particularly love the above-the-waist accents on the sides of the choli, which truly add to the fierceness. WMG tip: Rules be damned, we would love us some red lip here, no matter how gorge the lehenga looks in itself. Won’t you too? #10: In Payal Khandwala: The Mehendi Look 12208679_10153063923421008_4279335909339766753_n This one by Payal Khandwala is just what the doctor ordered for a dull mehendi - the yellow Benarasi skirt is a cheery hue that can uplift any look and the way Sonam styled it really had a zing to it - that means, we love the way she added that unique blouse and the choker. WMG tip:A modern look with traditional fabrics is the way to go if you are looking at infusing a bit of avant-garde into your look. And look, studs might look simple but they work!  #11: In Tarun Tahiliani: Cocktails Look 12196007_10153063923586008_5860055350191866902_n Oozing sheers and a rather-slinky blouse is the way to go this time for Sonam and boy, the look really was charming. The lightness of the sari went with the high-collared blouse and the interesting neckline. The sparklers were kept to a minimum but the gradient stones on the blouse really did make her look ethereal. WMG tip: Choose one - either the blouse or the sari to be sheer - that way, you can look super elegant without trying too hard.
