If weddings were stories then this one is an Indian fairytale. Amitesh & Atiya's wedding is a two-states dilemma - she being muslim and he being Sikh. But the couple worked their way through it and made the wedding look so old-worldly and vintage-y, it was charming. Right from the marsala lips to the pretty Kishandas jewellery with the prettiest of jhoomars to the sepia couple photo - the bride says everything is inspired by Bajirao Mastani. So so pretty! Photography by The Photo Diary by Monisha was so on fleek and captured everything in sepia tones so beautifully!
Meet Amitesh & Atiya
"So, I'm a Muslim girl from Mumbai married to a Sikh boy from Delhi:-) 2 States, 2 Religion, indeed. I met him at his cousin's wedding in Mumbai and their was chemistry at the word go. We obviously went through a lot of opposition, but love triumphed after all. Once we had convinced our parents of our love and commitment, our wedding was a fairytale indeed,' explains Atiya.
From The Bride:
"Both of us are quite the romantics, hence we wanted the wedding to transport us to a different era of old world charm and vintage love saga and who better than Sabyasachi to adorn us for the occasion. I wanted us to replicate the 'Bajirao Mastani' look being the multi-cultural couple that we epitomize. The ace designer gave me a traditional Sikh bride look mixed with nuances of my Muslim heritage with the Kishendas jewellery draped in a modern contemporary avatar. And the results are for you to see:-)" adds Atiya.
