Sea-Side Mumbai Wedding With A Bride Who Designed All Her Outfits

Weddings are an elaborate and expensive affair in India. And the burden of all the expenses mostly falls on the parents of the bride and groom. So it's always nice to see a couple that chips in for their own ceremonies. Tejaswini and Rahul are one such duo. They opted for a sea-side sundowner wedding but managed to pulled it off in a budget and paid it all by themselves. Without seeking help from their family or hiring a wedding planner, the two hosted their shaadi in their style. What's more, bride Tejaswini even designed all her outfits on her own and picked an orange-hued lehenga for her pheras to match the sunset at the backdrop of their mandap.

They met through their common friends and hit it off. Gradually, their friendship translated into more and in 2022, they decided to take the plunge and get married.

From The Bride:
We got married on 26th May in 2022. First of all, my entire wedding was planned and managed by husband and me with no wedding planner, no family involved. We did not want to burden our parents. So we decided to have the wedding the way we like. Since I am obsessed with sea gazing, we had chosen a venue by the sea. It was a magical moment for me to have my pheras overlooking the sea. All my outfits were customized by myself. Ever since I completed my degree in fashion designing, it was my dream to make my own wedding dress and I am so glad that dream came true. I decided to chuck the classic red and opted for a nice bright orange as it was a sundowner wedding.

We chose Kino Cottage in Andheri West to be our wedding destination. It was love at first sight for us when we saw the venue with sea-facing banquets and earthy interiors. It was a complete package. The manager and staff were very cordial and helpful. The food was their highest plus point. All our guests loved the food with so many varieties and everything tasted amazing.

She was fantastic with her work. Most importantly, she understood the kind of look I wanted for my wedding. That made everything so easy. Secondly, the makeup process was so quick, smooth and fun. In true words, she is a real artist.

We had seen Nikhil's Instagram profile through a friend's recommendation and we were awestruck as we saw the photographs. We decided to get our wedding captured by him and no wonder it was the best decision made. He is so professional in his work and suggesting shots. Also, he had made the whole process fun and not tiresome unlike many prewedding and wedding shoots I had heard of.
