When a wedding is rooted in intention rather than excess, it shows in every detail. Set amidst the serene wilderness of Jim Corbett, fashion and lifestyle creator Aashna Hegde's intimate celebration brought together South Indian and North Indian traditions in the most effortless, personal way. Planned as a close-knit affair with family and friends, her wedding to her longtime partner Aditya unfolded over three days and focused on clean aesthetics, meaningful rituals, and understated elegance- proving that minimal can still be deeply impactful.
The celebrations thoughtfully balanced both cultures, from temple-inspired South Indian elements to the warmth and emotion of North Indian pheras. With styling that leaned into craftsmanship, heritage textiles, and modern silhouettes, every look felt deliberate yet unfussy. The result? A contemporary “two states” wedding that honoured tradition without overdoing it.

Mehendi

The Mehendi was a modern, relaxed affair that set the tone for the celebrations ahead. Clean décor, curated details, and a bold outfit choice gave the event a fresh edge while keeping things intimate and easy-going.
South Indian Wedding

For the South Indian ceremony, the bride opted for a custom handwoven Kanjivaram saree, designed as a dhoop-chaau piece that shifts tones with light. What made it truly special was its emotional detailing—the saree featured delicately embroidered names of the women in her family, with space intentionally left for future generations. Styled minimally and paired with classic jewellery, the look stayed rooted in tradition while feeling deeply personal.
Punjabi Wedding

The Punjabi wedding brought in a softer grandeur, with rituals steeped in emotion and family customs. A bespoke lehenga, created by merging multiple couture elements into one cohesive design, struck a balance between refinement and tradition. The overall aesthetic remained elegant and restrained, allowing the ceremony itself to take centre stage.
Cocktail

For the cocktail evening, the styling shifted into a clean, contemporary space. A pristine white ensemble, complete with silk, lace detailing, and a short face veil, offered a subtle nod to a church-style silhouette—modern, minimal, and unfussy.
