I got to know about Vanya few months back from one of my relatives when I was looking for makeup artist. Earlier I was so skeptical that I felt reluctant to book her for my wedding. I hired Vanya and her sister for my wedding makeup in Puri on 28th November. No doubt the makeup turned out to be nice and as per my requirements . But the quality of products used were not upto the mark and especially on my wedding day, the makeup started coming out in less than one hour( including eyelashes, lipstick and foundation) and all my friends and husband had to struggle full night to keep my makeup intact, so please be mindful of the products that they are using. Also please don’t go for airbrush makeup since they don’t use airbrush technique at all.

I found Vanya through wedmegood and contacted her at least 2 months before my wedding, and then booked her within a week or so of meeting her. When I first met her, she used all the sales tactics to win me over - telling me she will help me pick jewelry that will go with my lehenga and my face, tell me where to buy nose rings and stuff from, and so on. She had also told me she will send me videos and whatnot before my wedding on how to take care of skin. She did none of those, and worse was after I booked her I tried to contact her when I went jewelry shopping and she wouldn't even pick my calls or see my messages. Now let's come to the wedding day makeup. I had clearly told her I wanted matching flowers in my hairdo and she had told me she will coordinate with me before my wedding to figure out what color will go with my lehenga. Again, she did none of that and gave me basic accessories like stone pins and stuff in my hair. While I was booking her, she had given me 2 options: one was 15000 for normal makeup, and 20000 for airbrushed makeup. She convinced me to go for airbrush makeup saying it will last longer and be more smooth. However, on my wedding day she didn't use any airbrush products and infact was using the same makeup products, brushes etc as the rest of the guests. Airbrush products are different than normal products, they are literally a spray-on product. When I questioned her about it, she tried to fool me and say oh no this beautiful finish on my makeup has come because of airbrush "techniques". Since I was literally getting married hours away the last thing I wanted to do was argue with my makeup artist about ripping me off so I let it go then. However, a couple of weeks later I did reach out to her to let her know I was disappointed that she ripped me off on my wedding day and I never even got a response from her to acknowledge it. Moreover, she had booked herself 3-4 bridal makeups in one day so she was rushing through my makeup and literally ran out of the makeup room before I could to reach her next client. Even though my makeup looked good, the hair was not done up to what I wanted it, and my head jewelry (the maatha patti that brides wear) had been fixed so poorly by her that my husband had to constantly fix it even in the middle of the wedding as it kept becoming crooked. I would recommend Vanya only if she doesn't overbook you, and only if you aren't going in with an idea in your head about what you want to be done. Also, absolutely do NOT pay 20k for airbrushed makeup, she's fooling her clients about it, unfortunately.

I am extremely happy to have encountered Vanya through wed me good.I belong from delhi and my wedding was suppose to take place in kolkata, and i was extremely anxious for my bridal makeup.
