I made the mistake of hiring Mehak as my MUA for my wedding in Indore. She made me cry on my wedding day and I wouldn’t wish this on any bride on her wedding day. She is good at make up but her people skills are questionable. I had discussed with her 10 days in advance that my in- laws have a ceremony where I first do my hair and make up and come down to the mandap in a saree for a 20 min puja and collect my phera lehenga from my in- laws after which I come back to my room and wear the lehenga and drape the chunni and go back for the pheras. Because events were running late due to delays from my in laws side, Mehak’s assistant had to wait 2 hours for my lehenga draping. I apologized to Mehak’s assistant multiple times for the delays and begged them to stay as I couldn’t have draped my lehenga by myself..None if this was in hands, the delays were because my MIL is old and was having trouble getting ready. After 2 hours Mehak called me and I told her I should be going down in 10 mins and at that point she started shouting and threatening that her team will wait another 30 mins or they’ll leave even if my lehenga isn’t draped…I felt so helpless at that point…my wedding day and no one to drape my lehenga. Mehak said her team was hungry, I offered to arrange their lunch. She said there will be wait charge- I said that’s fine just tell me how much- at which her response was “I don’t know - depends on when you’re done”. I wasn’t comfortable not knowing what the wait charge will be …if I’ve already paid 30 k for a make up another 1-2 k make no difference to me. I had absolutely no issues paying For the wait time but not knowing what it would be is not fair..at this point the conversation had become so hostile that I had to hang up and I started crying..my family was so furious that they called someone else to drape my lehenga and I ended up getting someone else to do my make up for my next event. Wouldn’t wish this for any bride on her wedding day. And after this incident , my cousin Shreya posted a review for Mehak on WedMeGood at which she got so upset that she publicly posted Shreya’s reviews screenshot on her Instagram and a 5 page rant mentioning my name and how I’m a horrible brideu. Very unprofessional and immature behavior by a “professional” make up artist who thinks shouting at brides and arguing with them on their one special day is completely okay.

Mehak did makeup for my baby shower and its one of the best experiences I’ve had with an artist. She’s really professional but also soo sweet, she made me really comfortable. I was really happy with the entire look and her work ethics. Overall she’s an amazing artist and I’d highly recommend her.

I was super excited to work with Mehak and boy did she deliver! She understood my skin type and my choices and gave me exactly the look I wanted. Mehak is extremely talented and a perfectionist. I got a chance to do my trial-makeup with her for my prewedding shoot before the wedding. During the prewed makeup, she took time to understood what I wanted and what suits my face, and I got acquainted with how she works. So for the three wedding events, I was completely stress free and gave her the liberty to do what she thought would look best on me (well almost ;), she let me pick the lip colors and hairstyle ).
