Artisans' Minaudière '16

Kolkata has a rich array of artisans specializing in batali carving but over the years with CNC machines gaining prominence.The intricate work seen in the furniture of the old colonial houses in Kolkata inspired us to delve deeper into this art form which is unique to West-Bengal. Then a chance site visit to a factory, took us further into this direction. We decided to understand the artistry and fuse this into our clutches thereby giving it a contemporary avatar while retaining its uniqueness.
