It was an average experience for my wedding mehendi. First, she kept scolding me for moving my hand too much and honestly I was not shaking/moving my hand at all, any movement was purely out of being human and breathing (you don't want that kind of energy on your wedding days). Second, there was no similarity in the design on my left hand and the right hand in terms of the circle designs drawn, which I felt looked quite odd. Third, she didn't apply anything extra to increase the colour such as oils, so the colour turned out pretty average (nothing special that one would expect for a bridal mehendi). Thankfully, I had specified the exact design I required for the mehendi on my feet, so it was perfectly done by her assistant who was also faster (and better).

Shalini has a very professional approach to her work. Her packages are reasonable and her work is amazing. She follows up and is very accommodating. She is good with her time management and has a very professional team of artists. I was not disappointed with my booking.

I booked Shalini looking at her work, and the fact that she was very easily approachable. However, unlike other vendors, she does not enter into a contract and prefers recording conversation on WhatsApp, which she refers to as an arrangement. I booked her in January for my mehendi ceremony in end of April. She charged me 50 percent advance which was non refundable. While she was accommodating initially, as the wedding date came closer, and we hit the second wave of the pandemic, upon speaking to her for reducing the number of people she was booked for, she had issues. To begin with, she first said that the whole amount will have to be paid irrespective of number of hands that she actually puts mehendi on. When I resisted, she said she has already paid and booked Mehendi artists for my function and if I reduce numbers now, it will be her loss. Most of my other vendors understood that the wedding scale had gone down from a 200 people gathering to a 20 people gathering given the restrictions imposed by Covid, but although she said she understood her actions say otherwise. Upon discusssion, and to be fair, I told her that her advance was not going to be touched, and from the 30 people I booked for, 10 would be paid for special mehendi at 1100 for both hands till wrist, and the rest would be paid for basis the mehendi that she puts. I had also instructed her that if anybody tells her to put mehendi for what is worth more than 1100, she will only put it for 1100 and direct them to me, because that is our understanding. On the day of the function, given that I was single handedly managing, decor, my hair and make up, and the venues, I was immensely pre occupied and stressed, and hadn't eaten anything and infact had alcohol so I fell sick that evening. What happened next was that I was whatsapped a sheet with Mehendi put on about 10 women, with rates that were atrocious. Other than my MIL who put mehendi only on one hand, and very little that too, everyone else that put mehendi was charged in the range of 3.5-4k. I only saw this the next day morning because I had medicine and went off to sleep the night before. But if my husband and parents are to be believed, she did not leave the venue and was asking for the whole amount despite everyone telling her that she had spoken to me, and she should wait to speak to me to settle the accounts. My parents felt so harrassed that they ended up paying her whatever cash they had, and a balance of about 6k or so was left which they said she could speak with me and collect. On my wedding day, from my haldi function till the wedding, I kept getting messages from her for the balance payment with absolutely no regard for the fact that I was getting married that day and I had a lot going on that needed to be taken care of. I was not going to run away with the money, whether or not I thought she deserved it or not. Honestly, for someone who claims to be a professional mehendi artist, this behaviour and consequent actions only show that all they care about is your money. Now, when it comes to my bridal mehendi, while she remembered to take advantage of my situation and put mehendi on my feet which I had said no to multiple times earlier, when I was not sick, and then charged me for it - she definitely forgot to put mehendi on my tips, and the oil that's put after to ensure that the colour comes through. While I paid a bomb for the mehendi, it was not worth a single penny.

I wish there was a negative rating for this woman who is a fraud . She is a cheater who took money in advance and did not turn up for my mehendi function and spoilt it. She is not at all professional and charges a lot for poor work quality. I made the mistake of choosing her and she spoiled my mehendi function. She came one day before my main function but as per her own convenience she turned up 3 hours before the scheduled time and was giving me an attitude for not accommodating. My family members seeing them sitting for long made time and ensured they didnt have to wait. Ms Shalini turned up with 4-5 other team members who were not at all experienced. The mehendi designs were repetitive and not worth the money. She just sits there and talks on the phone for good 4-5 hours and lets these inexperienced people spoil the brides mehendi . Over this she forcefully sells her balm which is very useless. She took the money on that day itself begging and saying she has no money to pay to her team and she needs the cash . Out of courtesy we paid her full hoping she will keep her word and turn up for the mehendi ceremony next day to be held . However she took the money and literally fled . Next day while i was getting ready for the function I got a call from my brother telling me no one from Shalini’s team has turned up at the venue and the guests are enquiring. I called her and she tells me she has sent one boy (when 3 were decided) to see if anyone is there and since no one was there and that guy was hungry he went out. I got angry and told her to stick to her word and send the 3 members as committed. Post this again i got calls from my brother that no one is there and on following up with Shalini she kept saying team is abut to reach . Once I reached the venue I realised nobody from shalini’s team is there . I called her multiple times and messaged her and she did not bother to answer any of them . I then called her from other numbers and then too she bothered to answer only once and say cab has broken down. My function started at 12 in the noon and she or her team did not bother to turn up until 5 pm . She neither answered calls only when she was told we will take strict action she turned up with her 2 team members and her husband. Her husband was a mannerless man who kept shouting that she is here now. Such pathetic people . They have no decency and spoiled my function. I was embarrassed in front of my guests because this woman got another booking where she was being paid more. She is a cheater and fraudster. Over and above this the mehendi colour was pathetic . Mehendi faded in like 2 days and the design and quality of work was pathetic .Request all to avoid booking this cheater woman who runs away with peoples money and does not show up on mehendi functions and spoils the day for brides. P.S . I was in touch with one of her team members who told me she got more money somewhere that is why she took that booking and did not turn up on my mehendi event . The team member told me she’s done this before and does this often spoiling peoples functions out of greed.

I booked Shalini ji, for my sisters engagement. I was very strict about the quality of mehendi & the colour. Shalini ji assured us that she continues to use her organic mehendi with no chemicals and has never compromised with it whatsoever. Shalini ji advised us to apply mehendi 2 days in advance so the colour comes out beautifully by the main event. She comforted my sister and only after much discussion about the design, that Shalini ji began working. She kept in mind the love story of my sister & my brother in law, my sister’s outfit, her jewellery. EVERYTHING! We were surprised how Shalini ji was measuring everything up to ensure perfection in the designs. She kept customising the designs according to my sister. My sister was initially stressed about the keeping up mehendi for long hours and avoiding water at all costs. But when she woke up the next morning, my sister was extremely happy to see how the colour was coming out and how beautiful the designs were turning out to be. She was jumping all over the house! Lol . On the next day Shalini ji was supposed to come to apply my mehendi, she gave me beautiful peakcock designs surrounded by lotus flowers with daisies on the front. Most beautiful & delicate vines with tiny roses on the back of my hand. On the wrists on the back of my hand were lotus flowers. Shalini ji even kept it on consideration As I have a nail biting problem, I would need certain kind of work near my fingertips to make them look better. We have completely fallen in love with Shalini ji’s kind, generous, most empathetic and accommodating nature. I was surprised when she said that she wanted to give me floral designs. We have booked her for my sisters wedding too! You see how she keeps calculating and estimating which design needs to be placed where! I’d give her a 100/10 without a doubt UPDATE: WE HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING. THE MEHENDI DIDNT HAVE CHEMICAL & THE COLOUR LITERALLYYYYYY STAYED FOR 15 days. The pictures are from the next day, after me & my sister removed our mehendi.

Oh my god this lady can draw mehendi for hours. She did my mehendi no stop and it was unique and beautiful but the helpers she got were not that good. Well I had a very average experience with shalini .i booked her one day before my mehendi ceremony as I had a cancellation with my original one ,well things didn't turn out the way it should be ,and I canceled my own bridal mehendi by myself after she was done with the guests at my function ,well will only say please do have a clear chat with her before booking to avoid any misunderstandings later .i do not feel like writing my entire experience here ,as I don t want to deteriorate anyone but yes mine was not a sweet experience either with her , but yes I gave her 2 stars as she did agreed to come on the last moment all I can say

DO NOT HIRE SHALINI FOR YOUR BRIDAL MEHENDI. She is a fraud, unprofessional, ill-mannered and a cunning woman with maligned thoughts about her brides. Read my complete review before you browse her profile. My advise to all the brides would be to NOT book her at all if you want a have a peaceful mehendi. You will get plenty of other polite and really good mehendi artists. One week ahead of the mehendi day she has been harassing me, she took another booking and asked me to change my time according to her convenience, she did not stick to her commitment and told me that her assistant will do my mehendi as she can’t come herself. With this kind of unprofessional attitude i cancelled the booking and now she has run away with the advance money of 5500 which I paid her in Oct for Feb wedding. She has been mentally harassing me, and has said really maligned things to me and my mother that ‘your baraat will come late and everything will go wrong on ur wedding day etc’ . To top it all, she has been threatening me that if I raise a compliant against her, she will not refund my money ( which obviously she has not given back yet). She is only focused on minting money from the brides, there-are actually reviews earlier also about her being money minded... and its so true! Trust me to not believe her social media promotion and even her 5 star rating here on wedmegood... Wedmegood should also look at the kind of vendors they are listing as a five star artist and must have a mechanism to raise official complaints.

I booked her for my bridal and bhabi's mehendi and I regret paying such a hefty amount for her average work. Firstly, she reached 2 hours late for my function, delaying the whole plan. Secondly, even when she was late, she was talking to her other clients to delay it even further. Thirdly, she completed my mehendi in a hurry. it was an average mehendi with a subpar design and no fine lines. Fourthly, her team made a stupid mehendi design on my bhabi's hand. She accepted it could have been better. Also, she is rude. She doesn't know how to talk to the guests. My experience was horrible in short! I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Very pathetic attitude and service. She nags and makes sure she turns your happy day into a day full of fights! She is a liar and literally starts crying at your function and makes up things. Hi All, I found Shalini through one of the wed me good blogs and left a message for her coz it was Sunday and I thought I shouldn’t bother anyone and hence, I wasn’t expecting any reply. But to my surprise, I got a call within half an hour of my enquiry. She replies promptly every time that’s one of her amazing qualities. She is the worst Mehendi artist I have ever seen. She literally ruined my wedding day. No fineness and no dedication. She is always in a hurry.. Imagine on your wedding day, someone just wants to runaway in 3 hours as per CONTRACT. She will tell you the price in a dubious way, like there is no criteria. She will get her so called reviews on Facebook literally out of too much requests. Please dont go for her. She ruined my day... Dont ruin yours!

She talks too much. She sends local mehendi artists in her place and earns 100% profit in between. This I got to know from her artists only. I made a deal with her for family mehendi at Rs 100 per hand. We had no conversation on type of mehendi. On the D day she didn?t come herself and sent her artists. They said we have been told to only put the basic Rs 50 hand on family and they can?t put different designs for family members. I told them that I have given 100 per hand but they said they have been clearly told to put 50 per hand designs. When I called Shalini then she just said that we have decided 100 so you pay that. She had no other explanation and was saying this on reparations. We along with those artists all were frustrated. Since it was a special day for me and I didn?t want to spoil my mood so I didn?t argue much and paid in full but I will strongly advise you girls to stay away from her !

Good designs are the only thing i got in my mehndi yet the best parrots what i wanted was not beautifully made, quality of mehndi was bad as well as the attitude of Shalini was too unprofessional as she forced me to adjust for day and timing too resultant i was superly tired on my mehndi as 3 person were working at the same time on both hands & one on feet making it very uncomfortable as she has to rush for other bookings. I had a bad experience so i will not recommend anyone.

Shalini is the most talented, friendly and cooperative person ever! While browsing online portfolios before my wedding, I saw hundreds of images but once I saw Shalini?s work, I knew that I would not be happy with anyone else. When it comes to mehendi artistry, there is absolutely nobody better than Shalini. She offers a wide variety of exquisite themes and designs to choose from so every bride (and other clients) can find something that suits their personality. She also customizes her own designs: I wanted a mixture of certain motifs (I love the bride-groom, peacocks and lotuses) and she took my vision and created the most exquisite mehendi I?ve ever seen. I had an outstation wedding and got my mehendi done by Shalini 3 days in advance so I was worried about the color fading by the main event (travel + washing up etc) but the mehendi turned out almost black and stayed black-oxblood for 10 days and started fading slowly after almost 2.5 weeks. Every single person I met while I had my mehendi on asked me where I got it done from because both the pattern + the color were superb. You could see every little detail and she incorporated madhubani designs with her famous parrot design for the back of my arms and I could not be happier with how dark even this back arms were. I think the fact that Shalini uses herbal, all-natural mehendi is extremely important. She cares about her clients and she makes sure to only use the highest quality ingredients. I have very sensitive skin and this is the first time in my life that I had a new substance applied to my skin and there was no adverse reaction. I followed her instructions for post-application care and kept my mehendi for around 30 hours, which was a lot of effort, but the results were magnificent! Shalini is a true artist but more than that, she is a lovely person. I could not have a proper function in Delhi since we had our flights in 12 hrs so I only got my own bridal mehendi done by her. I initially regretted not being able to enjoy the fun and festivities of the mehendi ceremony but spending time with Shalini was like being with a friend and we gossiped and had chai and shared so much that I could not have been happier. I had lots of last-minute problems and she was so cooperative. We changed the timings twice and had to change the venue and she had to stay till 2am and she never displayed any frustration; on the contrary she was so comforting and had such a calming effect on all of us. I felt so grateful for her company because she kept me peaceful through all the crises and by the end of the experience she had become a part of the family. My bridal mehendi was one of the few things that I was really particular about and every single time I look at my wedding photos I say a prayer for Shalini. She is a wonderful person and an artist extraordinaire. I think every bride should call her if they want a lifetime of memories and compliments.
