He did a wonderful job capturing our wedding and his ability to stay behind the scenes, but capture the real moments is a wonderful skill. Shiv has a very calm and composed manner, which brought the perfect energy to our chaotic punjabi wedding ;). He made the effort to meet and familiarize with everyone in our family before the events and was happy to be there whenever needed! It was wonderful to take a few minutes away from everyone for our photo shoot on the day of the wedding, where Shiv and his team made us feel comfortable. Some of the candid moments he captured, are some of our most cherished memories from the wedding.

Tejasvini Chander

Bridal Makeup

I have yet to come by someone who is naturally so good at what they do, and thus I can say with all my heart that Tejasvini was meant to be a make-up artist! I have always hated makeup and was really scared of looking 'made up' but I don't think anyone has made me look so beautiful! She is natural not just as an artist but also in the love and care she exudes for the person she is dressing up. At every step she ensured that I was comfortable and felt like myself. And of course Ryan, the groom, loved the way I looked. A thorough professional with in-depth knowledge of make-up and hair, Tejasvini was extremely patient and very enthusiastic. We started at 6:30 amas I had a morning wedding and she made sure I had the right start. On a day that means so much to you and your family, you want to start it with the right people who bring you joy and are positive...I could not have asked for a better artist. I would recommend her again and again to every bride.

Sukhdev Mehendi Wala, Lajapat Nagar

Mehendi Artist

Sukhdev Mehendi Wala, Lajapat Nagar. These guys did a wonderful job with my mehendi. Their work is very traditional, and I loved it!

Val's, Malviya Nagar

Groom Wear

Vals, Malviya Nagar: Both Cocktail and Wedding outfit were from Vals. The suit fabric for the cocktail was bought from Beckenstein Fabrics in New York City, and stitched by Vals Tailors. The staff was very helpful and willing to work with our tight timeline. Ryan and I would both recommend them for their professional attitude, wonderful craftsmanship and reasonable prices!

Hansa Khatwani

Bridal Wear

I was always drawn to Gotapatti, and came across Hansa Khatwani on Wedmegood and Facebook. Hansa’s work has this neatness and detail in the embroidery that most Gotapatti lenghas fail to exude. She offered to co-ordinate the lengha planning and design from across the world, and I was really impressed by her communication. When the time came closer to the wedding, she stopped sharing images of the process and said that she was waiting till it was completed. She did not deliver on time and after a lot of back and forth, (not to forget driving all the way to Jaipur from Delhi less than a week before my wedding!) when I finally got to try the lengha, the blouse fitting was horrible. It looked lopsided and was poorly made; yet she just would not agree that there was an issue at all. Instead, she gave me cheeky answers when I confronted her about how it wasn’t fitting right. Agreed, the designer had an old blouse, which she was to use as reference. But it wasn’t about being loose or tight. It was the neatness with which it should have been stitched. After multiple tries, and reworks I had to leave the piece with her and hope that her tailor would fix it. After I got the final delivery (5 days before the wedding), the blouse fitting was still terrible. I had to get it re-stitched by my grandma’s tailor, who was actually amused at the craftsmanship of the blouse. The left side was 1.5 inches longer than the right! Yes, it was cut incorrectly! What made my experience ugly was Hansa’s horrible and unkind attitude, she not only refused to acknowledge that there was a problem but was really rude. It was a very unprofessional experience, as she did not care weather I was comfortable and satisfied with my wedding outfit or not. It was all about getting paid and washing her hands off the piece.

Frontier Raas

Bridal Wear

I was looking for navy saree, and was surprised how most shopkeepers/ salesman confused navy to be electric blue! Then I met Hari Singh, the salesman who attended to us at Frontier Raas. He is one of the most patient and good-humoured guy I have met in a store, especially during the peak of wedding season. As per my request, he showed me all the blue sarees he had in the store, one after the other trying to gauge what I had in mind. Just as we were about to give up, he came in with two most beautiful sarees in Navy!
