Meet Raina and Rishi

"We met during the COVID lockdown on a dating app called Dil Mil. We went on our first date not knowing what to expect and 8 hours later after hiking, having lunch and going on a long drive together I came home and texted my best friend that I knew i’ll get married to Rishi one day. Right after our first date, the lockdown hit and we spent months doing window dates where he would bring food for me at night and we did dinner dates through the window. After months having lots of window dates during the lockdown at midnight, and sneaking out at midnight to see each other and we started dating. And now 5 years later we’re finally married and have come back from Mexico after spending the best week of our entire lives. Rishi proposed to me in Mexico so it really meant a lot to us to get married in Mexico as well", the bride tells us.

We tied the knot on January 24, 2025, at the breathtaking Hard Rock Riviera Maya—a perfect fusion of Indian tradition and Mexico’s natural beauty. I always dreamed of an intimate celebration with a sunset ceremony, and watching the sky turn gold as we exchanged vows felt truly magical.

With just 80 of our closest loved ones, the wedding was personal, elegant, and romantic. I hand-made our garlands and custom-designed my bridal jewelry with Studio Gulabi, working closely with Shamini to blend traditional craftsmanship with a modern twist. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect our story.

Planning an Indian wedding in Mexico came with its challenges, but being intentional made each moment even more meaningful. In the end, it was everything we hoped for—and more.
