There are some weddings that take you by surprise with the simplicity and elegance of it. This was one such wedding. A celebration of Indian traditions in Mauritius, as well as a promise to love each other forever, this couple made sure that their wedding was a memorable affair. Whether it was the Indian ceremony where our bride, Shakti, wore a gorgoeus pink Sabyasachi Mukherjee lehenga, or the beach ceremony where she shined in a white wedding dress, her sheer joy was what elevated her look each time. And to top it all off was the stunning photography by Doorgesh Mungur and Mevin Somiah!

The Beach Wedding
From The Bride:
Our wedding took place in Mauritius in April 2018. We had a two-day wedding with the first day being the Indian ceremonies and the second day was a white dress wedding with vows on the beach. The Indian wedding was held at the Chateau Labourdonnais and started with a baraat with my husband on a train. We then had the rituals followed by a traditional Indo-Mauritian dinner. Our guests then did dance performances followed by a very late night party.
On our second wedding day, we exchanged our vows on the beautiful beach of Flic en Flac. The wedding marches started with my husband entering with his dad on Rocky Balboa's theme song and our bridesmaids and groomsmen opening the way with entertaining dance moves for myself and my dad! To end the ceremony, we had a helium balloon set-off followed by a cocktail during sunset. Dinner was served in the thatch roof restaurant and the evening was filled with funny speeches, sega dancers and fireworks.
