A sneaker themed party- ever heard of that? We surely haven't, and we've seen our fair share of themed events! But guess that's what happens when two people with a mutual love for sports find each other! Tanya and Akash have an adorable 'love' story, and after 3 postponements no thanks to the pandemic, they finally got to have the destination wedding they had originally planned at The Westin Resort & Spa, Pushkar. From a sneaker-themed after party to a cricket match on the mehendi to break the ice, they had some mutual love for sports inculcated into their wedding. Take a look at this adorable wedding!
Meet Tanya and Akash
Akash and I met in Dubai where both of us pursued engineering. I first spotted him at a university sports fest in a black and orange adidas tshirt with a haircut that made his hair flip up and down as he made his way through the court. With a very fortunate twist of fate, we started hanging out in the same social circle; A friendship that brewed over mutual love for Federer & roasting each other, grew into love on the badminton court. We ended up dating for 7 years over the span of 2 college degrees; 3 countries & 2 continents. Although he didn’t get to actually pop the question with our parents wanting a “ Chatt Mangi teh Patt Vyah” , he decided to get on his knee a few weeks before the wedding & say “ Let’s start with Love-all” (which means zero all in Tennis terms) & “Let’s win all championships that life throws at us”

From The Bride:
Our wedding was on the 13th Feb, followed by 3 location changes thanks to the O-micron wave and scare. But we were able to celebrate with our close friends and family at the original location that we had in mind for the wedding (The Westin Pushkar). Our idea for the wedding was an intimate affair where the both Akash and I wanted to be a part of the celebrations as much as possible. So instead of stages & formal photoshoots, we wanted to interact with our guests and have a good time. We organised a cricket match as a part of our mehendi function in order to get the bride and groom squad to get to know each other in a healthy competitive way as the Dils from Dilli competed against the Baes from Bombay. We also had a sneaker themed after party where everyone chucked their formal wear and danced the night away in their kicks. Akash and I wore custom denim jackets that were designed by me and had elements of our personalities and dating life. For our outfits for the rest of the events, both of us were of the opinion that we should be able to re-wear them in some way or the other after the wedding.

It checked off all the points for an ideal destination wedding: lot of lawn space, spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing venues for the events; picturesque & a dreamy dome for pheras and varnamala. Very accommodating staff and exceptional food (Service was impeccable with hot food around the clock quite literally).

Cine love was AMAZING - I mean from making us laugh from behind the camera to being there to capture each and every moment that mattered to us. The creative director - Ritin was extremely humble, my ask to them was the output to be fun & spontaneous and that has translated so well in the pictures. Their attention to detail & capturing the “right moments” at the “right time” skills are praiseworthy. The CineLove team has blessed us with a lifetime worth of posing tips & insta pictures.

Prerna Khullar is a perfectionist, she had a vision and gave me unique looks for each of the events. She didn’t let me step out till she was extremely satisfied with the look. I was showered with comments throughout the weekend.
Wedding Planning: Thowt events
Thowt were exceptional with their recommendations and understood the vibe we were asking for from the get go. I was thoroughly impressed by the kind of personalisation they managed for the cricket match and the after party (like the A&T arm bands) A very passionate duo, Tushar & Arpit catered for anything we threw at them - pulling off a change of location in less than 10 days was no short of a miracle. A shoutout to my brother Chirag, took a paid holiday from dad to make sure every wish of mine was brought to reality.
Decor: Events With Elegance
Hats off to the team at events with elegance who pulled off the event decor with a week of notice; They recreated my mood board & wouldn’t have had a proper night of sleep in order to ensure everything was done to perfection.
