Gorgeous Delhi Wedding With Unique Outfits & Interesting Themes!

BY Latha Sunadh | 21 Jun, 2018 | 7209 views | 6 min read

If there's an award for a wedding with the most number of events, this one would take the cake. And not just that, the events are so pretty, so varied and come with interesting themes ( hello, carnival theme!) and a host of stylish outfits. The decor for each function is so unique and interesting and to think that it was all spread over 2 days is interesting. The venues,  Malibu TownSanskriti Farms and Jaypee Greens Golf Resort kept the momentum going beautifully while photography by Morvi Images Photography★ 5  was stunning!

Meet Nimira & Aman

Aman & I, met in Bangalore in July’2016 after months of texting and calls. We were introduced by our common friends in April, I travelled extensively for work, but our love for food/travel/adventure/sitcoms, got us texting even when we were miles away. We started dating, going to the best bars, restaurants, movies and comedy events in Bangalore and instantly felt a connection! We moved to Singapore in Jan’17 with our jobs, travelled around SE Asia and realized, we were ready to tell our families. We got engaged the same year," explains Nimira.

The Wedding

From The Bride:

The whole wedding planning and shopping required a lot of travel and frequent trips back to Delhi from Singapore, from selection of vendors, to outfits, jewelry and dance rehearsals! We managed to get a pre-wedding photoshoot in Singapore, around the iconic Marina Bay sands, Merlion & Botanical Garden by Vive Lamour studio.

We got married at a beautiful venue in December’17, and it was truly a dream wedding. Our families get all the credit for planning and putting this memorable day together for us. Looking back, We both miss our wedding!

While shortlisting vendors, we met a few wedding photographers, but after reading reviews and being strongly recommended by friends and our wedding planner, we picked Morvi Images. From twirling, to dancing, jumping on the bar, to crying in my father’s arms, from the corner eye look to my fiancé, to the emotion in my eyes during kanyadaan, from the “boss bride” pics to the “get me out of here”, she captured it all!

As for our performers, Bombay Rockers was a great decision, we had a lot of fun dancing to the Bolly-punjabi music. DJ Shadow, was outstanding with all the mixes that a Delhi crowd needs. Our cocktail décor was the show runner. We picked this venue in Sanskriti Farms, just for the inbuilt décor, of rose & black. Aman & I danced to Sugar, by Maroon 5 to kick off the Sangeet, yes it was rehearsed & choreographed. My Mehendi was my favourite day and I decided to do a quirky photo shoot with just my brides maids. I highly highly recommend every bride to plan this. I danced in the most comfortable clothes that I designed and got a local boutique in Gurgaon to stitch, least make up, sunny day with lots of interesting cocktails & sheesha! On our Mehendi day, we also entered with Dhol into a colourful décor, with a carnival theme, and danced our hearts away! This was also the day for family performances, which lasted for 20 minutes. The best part of this function undoubtedly, Aman & I got on top of the bar and danced on the dhol! We decided to have early pheras and then end the wedding with an after party, but everything was delayed and my vidai only happened at 2am, so we missed our own After-party!

The best part of my outfit was my nath from Surana Jewellers, I designed my nath, and I fell in love with it.

And here are the lessons and suggestions we think new brides would need:

  1. Pick the best vendors in town, and then sit back & relax!
  2. That will not happy to be honest, but try to enjoy the planning & the wedding. We both enjoyed our cocktail & Mehendi the most, we got drunk & danced till it was time for the next function.
  3. For outfits & looks, before you buy, research enough on Pinterest & Wedmegood so you have an idea of what you are looking for!

While shortlisting vendors, we met a few wedding photographers, but after reading reviews and being strongly recommended by friends and our wedding planner, we picked Morvi Images. It was probably the best decision, looking at the work now, I can safely say that.

Let me start by saying that Morvi captures moments that will probably be missed by other photographers, moments that you remember when you see the photographs, I have laughed & cried going through all the photos & videos, even 4 months after the wedding.

Morvi becomes the bride’s best friend! She is always by her side, especially on D Day. She has taken shots of every fun, emotional, loving moment that I experienced during the wedding week.

From twirling, to dancing, jumping on the bar, to crying in my father’s arms, from the corner eye look to my fiancé, to the emotion in my eyes during kanyadaan, from the “boss bride” pics to the “get me out of here”, she captured it all!

It is true that the wedding becomes a lot about the bride, especially her look and I spent a lot of time & effort in making sure I looked like a million bucks, but when I saw my photographs, this is what I said “Morvi has made me look like a supermodel, I don’t think the Manish/Sabyasachi outfits do justice to the work that Morvi has done”!
