A Pre-Pandemic Wedding With Pin-Worthy Details!

BY Aakanksha | 24 Mar, 2021 | 1558 views | 6 min read

Heeren & Satvik got hitched just before the pandemic in a dreamy ceremony in Thailand! They planned it all in just 6.5 months, but were persistent and had the support of an amazing team of vendors! The result was beautiful celebrations in a picturesque beach location - just what the couple had envisioned. Not only was it a gorgeous looking wedding, it was also a cross culture one, with 2 ceremonies - honouring both the bride & groom's heritage and cultures. Scroll down and bookmark because you will definitely be revisiting this wedding for ideas for your moodboard.

Meet Heeren & Satvik

We met in Singapore in 2016 at a bar while we were out with our friends and we happened to have a mutual friend who introduced us to each other. We connected on the same night when he sang "tum hi ho" to me as I heard he was a great singer and so we sang together while locking eyes the entire time! We lost touch for a while but starting seeing each other out all the time and we rekindled our connection and got together in Jan 2017!

From The Bride:

We both love to travel and we are big beach junkies, and so, Phuket was a perfect destination for us since it was close to Singapore and had amazing beaches with beautiful turquoise waters. We went to site visit about 8 hotels while we were in Phuket and when we went to Hyatt Regency, we immediately fell in love with it because it had a beautiful lawn that overlooked the beach and we envisioned how amazing the Mandap will look on the lawn. We also wanted a small and intimate wedding, something fresh yet elegant and we only had 6.5 months to plan our big day as we were also planning our big move to New York City which was happening 3 weeks after our wedding! Hyatt was a nice resort for an intimate wedding as we felt it would be cosy for a small number of guests like ours (140 guests). It also had a beautiful pool side deck where I envisioned our Mehendi event perfectly. Their ballroom was also just the perfect size for our number of guests and so we felt it would make it a lot more intimate, warm and special. We really wanted our personalities to shine through our wedding and it definitely did!

Vendor Reviews:

Venue: Hyatt Regency Phuket
As mentioned they had a lovely lawn overlooking the blue waters where we had our Mandap set up. I had a wonderful hilltop suite with a huge deck where our haldi ceremony was held with about 30 of our friends and family. And they had a lovely pool deck where our Mehendi ceremony was held. It was a great venue with fantastic views, great staff who were accommodating and they had amazing food!

Makeup Artist: Paveena Rathour
I have seen her work over years as she did my sisters' wedding make up a few years ago and she has become a family friend over time! She is not just super-talented but she is also such an amazing individual who goes out of her way to engage with her brides and make them feel so beautiful on their big day. She suggested so many looks and hairstyles and I trusted her expertise to doll me up - she definitely did not disappoint. For my mehendi, she gave me a funky, vibrant look and it exceeded my expectations.

Hairstylist: Ruchi Arya
She was amazing, and she gave my hair a different look each day and she put beautiful baby-breath flowers in my hair for my mehendi and red roses for my Sikh wedding which really stood out!

Photographer: Colomono Studios
We loved their work and more importantly we loved their team! They were so fun and they felt like friends who were part of the wedding! They happily took all our requests and went out of their way to make us happy! We had heard about them for years and seen them cover so many great beach destination weddings in South East Asia and we knew we had to choose them!

Decor & Planning: Wizkim Wedding
The decor was perfect and really reflected our personalities and styles - elegant, classy, fun! We had a different color scheme and theme for each function. Our reception decor was gorgeous and we were in awe when we saw it as it exceeded our expectations! Sugar and his team were truly a gem to work with!
We actually switched our planner to Wizkim Wedding 1.5 months before our wedding date! You can only imagine how stressful that was but their team was sent from heaven for us! We had such a short time but Sagar was an angel who made the process so smooth for us. We wanted the decor to be simple, elegant and vibrant and we went for mostly pastels and bright colours as we wanted the beach vibes to stand out. He understood our likes and personalities so quickly and he was confident that he would be able to set up the decor in a way that reflected that. He listened to every big and small detail and he really came through for us in such a short time. The whole team was such a delight, and we made a connection with all of them!
