Stylish Mumbai Nikaah With The Bride In A Unique Customised Veil

Oh we love it when the bride takes a leap and does something new on her wedding- setting a trend and how! Real Bride Roshni married the love of her life Faisal, and the wedding, which was an inter-faith one, was a beautiful culmination of their longstanding love and struggle. We loved how everything had a modern, contemporary touch to it, but what stood out for us were the bride's sartorial choices. Roshni wore a customised veil with her gorgeous all-white bridal look, which had the words 'Qubool Hai' embroidered across it. A beautiful wedding with a beautiful love story!
Meet Faisal and Roshni
Faisal and I were in the same school and shared the same set of friends. As we grew older, our love for one another only got stronger. It all started in our teenage glory, we began dating at the age of 17 and as crazy as it sounds, I knew right then that this is the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with. Faisal and I dated each other for ten years, we have been each other's rock that never crumbles and possessed hearts that only lived to love more the next day. Our love isn’t like the ones you would find in a fairytale. Being an inter caste couple, love came to us with its own challenges and obstacles. It went from my father saying, “I want you back home early” to “Please don’t forget to spend some quality time together amidst planning your wedding.” It went from awkward greetings to outings where I now feel like the one third wheeling when my father and husband are together. It went from hiding in the front seat of the car after seeing my parents, to my father giving Faisal driving instructions just like every typical dad does to his son. Sometimes when I’m sitting in the backseat, I cannot help but smile like a fool feeling grateful for the journey we’ve had. The drive wasn’t easy, but Faisal was my seatbelt through every road bump. I knew once my parents got to know Faisal for who he is, they would fall in love with him as quickly as I did and it's safe to say that they fell for him, stronger and more deeply than I ever did! I never believed in destiny but when I see Faisal with my family and the partner he has been to me, I feel like his name was written next to mine 50 thousand years before the sky was introduced. For a 17 year old Faisal and an 18 year old Roshni, love was a short and easy to spell word but what we created together in ten years taught us the true definition of love, and just like that we created our own little version of a fairytale. Sabr - After patience, beautiful things await. And just like that on 24th December 2022, two different families, two different religions, were united by love.

From The Bride:
Surrounded by the love and warmth of our loved ones, Faisal and I got married on the 24th of December 2022. One thing that Faisal and I stood by since the beginning of planning our wedding was staying true to ourselves as much as possible. We did not want to do anything for the trends or for the outside world but for ourselves. We wanted to create moments that we would look back at and smile even 50 years later. And that is how we went about it, we prioritised our love and our relationship and it was always the core of our wedding. In the simplest form, the most important thing to us was that our wedding should be a unique celebration of our love with the people we love most.
The Mehendi was vibrant, festive, filled with tears of happiness and so many surprise performances by our loved ones. It was one of those celebrations where we had to constantly pinch ourselves to check if we're still dreaming or it's all reality! Our Sangeet celebrations were full of warmth, love, good food, and a dance floor that no one wanted to leave. We danced our hearts out on and off the stage and when our feet were sore, we danced some more with our near and dear ones until the end of night. As an intercaste couple, we wanted our Nikah to be a very welcoming space that is filled with nothing but love and positivity. The December weather was an unpaid actor during that day. We were blessed with the best atmosphere and the decor complemented the breezy weather beautifully. It's kind of amazing that we got to say 'Qubool Hai' and start this new chapter of our lives with people who were very much a part of this journey and believed in our love as much as we did since Day 1.
For the Nikah I wanted to surprise my husband with a veil that had 'Qubool Hai' along with our wedding date hand embroidered to it. That moment when he lifted off the veil and saw me as his wife for the first time will always live rent free in my heart. Even today, that is the most precious piece of cloth that I own and I know it will be for many years to come.

The hunt for finding a picturesque venue for our Nikah came to an end when we visited Jade Garden, Worli. The ambiance and grandeur of Jade Sky Terrace is absolutely breathtaking especially in winter. The lush green terrace garden is sure to sweep your guests off their feet with its tranquil ambiance. The venue in itself is so mesmerising that it will make your special day ten times more magical. We experienced great hospitality and the management was also extremely reliable.
Makeup Artist: Ami Jethwa
As a bride, I was most iffy about my makeup. I am someone who has never done a full face of foundation or ever put on a lipstick and trust me when I say, picking Ami Jethwa for my bridal makeup and hair was the best decision I made. She is absolutely flawless with her work and made me feel extremely comfortable. The way she planned each look keeping in mind the outfit was truly commendable. She made sure that the hair and makeup for each function was fun, unique, manageable and very much me. She used the best products possible on my skin and for hours together the makeup did not move! For all the brides who are looking for someone highly skilled, professional, punctual and puts her heart into making your special day even more special, it’s her!

They are veterans in the wedding industry for a reason! We wanted the decor on the day of our Nikah to truly echo our personality. The team put in a lot of effort to bring our vision to life. The setup was more than what we had imagined and looked like nothing less than a fairytale. The pillars complemented the whites and baby pink beautifully and the hangings at the entrance were simply breathtaking. From the centrepieces, to the table arrangement, everything was looked after perfectly. Reema from the team took several efforts to make our special day unforgettable. It was simply a pleasure working with her.
Bridal Outfits:
Mehendi outfit - Gazal Gupta - Picked up an easy breezy swan side drape sharara set for my Mehendi from their store in Kala Ghoda. They customised it into stunning powder green for me. From the rich fabric to the intricate embroidery, the outfit was a perfect blend of contemporary design and Indian craftsmanship. The sales team looked after the minutest details and made the outfit was delivered within time. If you’re looking for a fun, easy breezy outfit that you can dance the night away in then you must surely go for this designer.
Sangeet outfit - Gaurav Gupta - A noir linear skirt paired with a cropped blouse and ruffles from the shoulder, the second I tried on this outfit, I knew this was it. It was the perfect look for our engagement, classy, elegant and royal. It struck a great balance between simplicity and drama. The outfit once delivered, fit me like a glove and the fall of the ruffles was simply gracious.
Nikah outfit - For the Nikah I went for an ivory white embellished Seema Gujral lehenga. And the lehenga was truly a dream! From the handwork to the fit, it was absolutely gorgeous. They were kind enough to customise the outfit as per my needs and the co-ordination with the team in Delhi was seamless. When I received the outfit, it was not an inch loose or tight, it was just the perfect fit. It was royal, sophisticated and so much more than just a lehenga. This outfit will always hold a special place in my heart.

Nasreen’s hands are truly magical. She gave so much attention to detail and made sure the designs were extremely intricate and done to perfection. She is highly skilled, punctual and extremely professional when it comes to her work. She was so patient and kind towards the entire application process. Her team is just the same! They are extremely compassionate towards your guests and a joy to be around. I would totally recommend her to book her for your special day.
Groomwear: NM Design Studio
The craft and effort that NM Design Studio put in to make the perfect tux for was commendable. They do not compromise on the quality of their fabric or work. Their delivery was within the given time frame and the trials were also absolutely smooth and needed minor altercations that they catered to immediately. Their bow tie was truly the highlight in the ensemble. Kora by Nilesh Mitesh - The finesse that is provided in a Kora outfit is difficult to find anywhere around. From the embroidery on the fabric to the comfort you will find in their fabric, everything is top notch quality. You truly get great value for what you are paying.
Wedding Cake: Deliciae Patisserie
An absolutely PAWdorable cake design and mouthwatering cake. Deliciae created the design that I provided them to the T. They were very punctual with the delivery and made sure the cake was in perfect condition when it reached the venue. Our guests could not stop raving about how moist and rich in taste the cake was.

Hands down the best in the business! Shipra and Shrikant are extremely easy going and a pleasure to work with. My husband and I had decided to not watch any of the practices as we wanted it to be a surprise for us on the sangeet day and it would be fair to say that this hardworking and passionate team of two made sure it was a treat to our eyes on the d-day. We would always look forward to our sangeet practices because it would always be a riot of fun and laughter. They were so creative with the choreography and always catered to all our needs.
