BY Aakanksha | 30 Mar, 2022 | 1456 views | 7 min read

A couple made for each other, a love story made for the movies and a wedding made to be featured on WedMeGood - Nishita & Siddhant's celebrations were as on-point as ever. Shot by Snaps & Shots Production ★ 4.5 , this charming wedding in Bhubaneshwar was full of joy, laughter and loads and loads of love. It was all things beautiful and ticked all the boxes - from the decor to the bridal outfits!

Meet Nishita & Siddhant

We met through a mutual friend, and dated for bout three years in a long-distance before sealing the deal!

The Wedding

From The Bride:

12/12/21. We wanted a wedding where basically he and I could both have fun and have all the events together rather than the traditional boys and girls side events separately. The planning was super difficult since he was in the USA, I was in India, my parents were in Kuwait. Literally, a virtually planned wedding. Our wedding was in Bhubaneswar, where our parents have their roots and heritage. we started off with our cocktail night, which was an intimate affair with just a few close friends and cousins. It was a hell of a lot of fun, and dancing with both of us in “high spirits”. The next day was my Mehendi, which Sid gate crashed, I wore my self designed outfit and it was a mellow evening, full of close family, friends and banter. The next event was our sangeet, omg this has to be my favourite event. With last moment practice, we aced it (I think :P). My outfit from this day was from Prisho, and they did a fab job. All my close fam members were colour coordinated. It was a night of old and new Bollywood songs, singing by cousins, dancing even with sore feet, and great food. This was followed by an after-party with close cousins and friends. Sid and I played -we never have I ever and a couple of games. Some of the funniest moments of our wedding. The next day morning was our Haldi. This one was special and very emotional. The theme was yellow. And I wanted to go for a different colour for myself. I wore a maroon lehenga which I’d designed. It was my mom’ sari from her wedding trousseau, which I turned into a lehenga, did my own borders and blouse. Siddhant wore his best friend’s label- Reemly design studio. Our Haldi ceremony turned into holi in no time, with splashing beer and flowers. This was followed by our wedding and reception at night. I finally wore my Sabyasachi (the sole reason I was getting married for, JK). We wanted everything pink and white on the main day, the decor, mandap, table set up, flowers. I’d designed Siddhant’s outfit for the wedding. It perfectly complemented my lehenga. I’m not the one for heavy jewellery and makeup or a typical bridal red. So, I went light on all three aspects. My outfit was the highlight, a beautiful Banarasi pink Sabyasachi with intricate Pearl and handwork borders in various colours. Joyalukas Kuwait had been very patient and did my jewellery for over 1.5 months. Overall, everything came together really well. With one year of planning, the outcome was way better than expected.

A Word For WedMeGood:

I used the app for my wedding planning! Each and every vendor except outfits were selected from WedMeGood. I used my mynt membership discount as well. This app is all you need to start off your wedding planning. A great source of help, information, inspiration.

Vendor Reviews:

Venue: Mayfair Lagoon, Bhubaneswar
Amazing location. Our guests loved their room and the open balcony that leads to the lake view and seating. The food was great and the staff is very accommodating. Most of our events were held here. We go long back with these guys. They’re the best in Bhubaneswar.

Makeup Artist: Gunjan Makeup Zone
You’ll really feel like you’re working with a friend. With picture references and preferences being laid out at the beginning, she sticks to them and the outcome is outstanding. I wanted something really light and feel like myself, she did exactly that. I’d highly recommend her for all brides in Bhubaneswar and around.

Planner & Decor: Rings and Knots
They did our planning and decor. Everything we had visualised and spoken with them for months over a zillion video calls finally came to life. It was just beautiful the way the decor turned up. Our mandap was exactly how we’d wanted. They're professional and accommodated all our last moment requests as well. Surya from the team is great to work with. A special shout out to Krishna from the team. You’ve to book them way in advance. They’ve a great history of wedding decors among the new age modern ones. They did a great job with the pastel theme decor, canopies, pink and white orchids, roses and Lillie’s. The rustic mandap and open sangeet stage were a hit. One of the best in Bhubaneswar.

Photographer: Snaps & Shots Production
Hands-down the best vendor, we have worked with. The team was like a family towards the end. They’re so good with their craft. Following us through all the ceremonies, yet making sure as to not disrupt the flow. They went above and beyond for all the shots. And as annoyed as I did get sometimes with all the posing around, the photos really make all that worth it. A special thanks to Jerry for putting up with all the bridal tantrums, haha. Highly recommend.

Bridal Outfits: Mehendi - Self Designed, Cocktail - H&M, Sangeet - Prisho, Haldi - Mom's Saree, Wedding & Reception - Sabyasachi
I designed my Mehendi gown on my own, and it took me a month to do the entire mirror work. Prisho from Kolkata did a fabulous job with my Sangeet outfit. The intricate handwork and the pastel colours were breathtaking. For Haldi, I repurposed my mom's sari from her wedding trousseau and made it into a lehenga. I dyed the blouse and designed the borders. It was one of my favourite outfits. I wanted an outfit that I could re-wear and definitely didn’t want a heavy one, red or one with too much gold. Even before Sid or the wedding decision, I knew I’d be wearing Sabyasachi (a fan since 2004). Darshi from the Kolkata team was superb, we finalised my lehenga over 10 months, and oh boy! It was worth it. She was so accommodating towards the last minute shipping changes. Also, the lehenga fit like a glove. No alterations.

Mehendi Artist: Deepak Mehendi, Bhubaneswar
They were very punctual and accommodated our last-minute guests as well. We had them for Mehendi night for the girl's family and for Sangeet for all our guests.

Groom Wear: Reemly Design Studio, Bhubaneswar
She does great stuff and executes your vision exactly as it is and within the promised time frame. Reemly is a sweetheart and working with her was really smooth.

Bridal Jewellery: Other Functions - Joyalukkas, Mehendi - Amrapali
Joyalukkas's team is amazing. I ordered around 4-5 sets of diamond and gold and they delivered everything in about 1.5 months. I got my Mehendi jewellery from Amrapali. They were very patient and had a great collection of silver jewellery.
